my 1st IVF cycle was in Sep 09.. BFN, then 2nd IVF in Dec 09... BFP, but lost at 5wks..
the minimum period to rest is 2 cycles, and now my 1st FET in Mar 10.
actually the most impt thing to consider is how ready you are to embark on the next cycle.. for me, i think i'm too results-driven, and hence only rested 2 to 3 mths for each try...

July, I'm the impatient type so I tink I'll not wan 2 wait more than 3 mths if I failed (touch wood).

i had bleeding, and HCG level is low... at first i thought it was game over when i bleed on sat evening (my BT was supposed to be on Monday). So i didnt rush down to NUH and in any case, they are closed and i didnt know where else to go (thinking back I should have just gone to KKH 24 hrs women's clinic).. so i just dumb dumb think that once again, my 2nd fresh cycle failed on me, and continued to bleed on sun.. and monday, i called NUH, and they advised me to still go ahead to take BT. How I know i was actually preg.. if only i had this or that, things might not have turned out so bad..
so that's y i asked for more support this time round... 2 x crinone instead of 1...

My IVF will be in Jun..I started to take the wolfberries + red dates drink, folic acid daily, Dr Zou's medicine & accu, DOM evy night. I tink i super kiasu lor & scare I overdose...hahaha

U also transferred 2 embryos for yr 1st fresh ivf? Wats the grade? Did dr sugg to put in 3 for yr 2nd ivf since u failed the first one?
Cos i duno how many shb i put in... I scare put in 3 i will end up triplets.. But also scare if i dont put in 3.. My chances are lower...

queenie, the last time I did hsg.. the doc purposely plan after menses ended. It is to prevent pregnancy b4 this procedure. You need to sign form confirm not pregnant. The doc also told me no bd because the dye they insert into the womb is dangerous for the baby. It is best to wait for menses to come & flush out all the dye residue first, if really must bd - have protected sex.

hsg can't BD after it's done. cos I was told after hsg done we tend to be more fertile (maybe e dye knock all e eggs out) then if preg got risk it will be etopic.

Firstly I like to say thanks to all sisters here who have been so kind to share so much info for us who experience the same concerns.
I have been reading the postings here in the last 2 hours and would like to seek help and support here. Well in fact, I went to see my gynae today and was told that the chances of my husband and I conceiving naturally was very low. My husband has low sperm count and sperm motility. In fact, before we did the sperm analysis to discover this awful truth, I was found pregnant in Mar 09 but 8 weeks later had to wash it out as it was an empty sac. While we had pick ourselves up from our sadness, we had been trying for 9 months but unsuccessful.
My gynae did an external and virgina scan on me for any abnormalities but found nothing unusual. Her deduction was since I was pregnant before, it was quite unlikely that my tubes would be blocked. Nevertheless she suggested doing the fallopian tubes Xray to check for any blockages. I'm holding back this option since my husband's sperm is not strong enough to swim plus the quantity is much lower than normality.
So our gynae suggested the following:
- (1) My husband to start taking oral supplements for a month then do a sperm analysis again. If no significant improvement, we will be referred to see a urologist for further tests and perhaps an op to rectify any blockage (if any).
- (2) After seeking urology treatments and if still no success, we will be referred back to the gynae and she'll recommend us to IVF.
Sorry for the lengthy story of mine.... but I seriously need some advice here (I'm very confused and disappointed). Please share with me (if you had similar situation) whether your hubby had seen an urologist and after supplements/surgery/other treatments before you embark on the IVF journey? Or do you suggest that we should proceed to IVF and save the money on the Urology treatments?

JJ, then the male doc i saw tat time was not Dr Loh liao..heh
Ya...u reminded me...beside feeling nervous, I was impatient cos of my full bladder, almost wanna burst liao. I told the nurse I can't tahan. She allowed me to release half. After the whole procedure was done, I asked the african doc if i can pee..she said got to lie thr 4 @ least 10mins to let the sperm swim further in. But I did ask the nurse a silly qn: will the sperm leak out if I empty my bladder. She said no but hor I still doubt leh.
Anyway, I hope u can "ren" at least half an hr afr the procedure is done. Gd Luck to yr IUI!

My DH also have similar problems. We have seen 3 gynaes and 2 tcm doctors. 1 gynae suggest he see a urologist and the other 2 put him on supplement. I was told that going for the op only has 50% chance of correcting the problem. the success rate is too low for us.
i would suggest u seek a 2nd opinion before u decided if u want to pursue the urologist route should the supplements not work out.

I've quite a big bladder & can hold urine in quite well ... Hope won't come to the point of near bursting !! haha
Kittlyn - Supplements have known to improve sperm mobility but by not much. If any ops is suggested to yr DH, it is really best to get 2nd opinion & see how much the %% is quoted.

I think we had a similar fate.
I was able to get pregnant naturally many years back. However, AF came later and it was washed off naturally. Dr said it is biochemical pregnancy.
We tried naturally for more than 1 year and is unsuccessful to get pregnant. We started to see Dr and they found out that I have endometrosis and my hubby normal sperm count is below normal ~~ 1% compared to the normal 15%.
We went to 2 Drs to do a few rounds of IUI and IVF but is unsuccessful... They had the same conclusion that his sperm count is low.
I just switched to another fertility Dr a few mths ago and we re-do the sperm analysis, this Dr actually said that the result is normal!
Tha amount of fluid poduced by my hubby is higher than normal so the % becomes very low after the calculation. However, the Dr said if we look at the number of sperms...it is actually very normal.
So I would suggest that you seek second opinion before you make any final decision.

i remembered my bladder was bursting because waited more than 1 hour for the procedure. i cannot tahan asked the nurse can i go toilet, nurse asked me bear with it.That's why during my ET i dun dare to drink so much scared must wait again. luckily dr loh never scold me say why bladder not full. kekekeke

happyhippo - the ones i bought is from chew ... I also manage to check it from Giant
baby - my 1st cycle grade are also similar to the 2nd one but my doctor just put in two and luckily i only put in two since both also stick .. If you are ready to have triplets then I wld suggest you must in 3 to increase the chances

yes i tested on Monday itself..... canot tahan lor... the curiosity.... i saw 2 lines...
but then again it maybe the remaining HCG or wat but the HCG jab was 2weeks ago.
So i just wait for my BT this Friday for further results.. Hopes its positive as well.
