Hello ladies
I am occasionally a silent reader on this post but just thought of adding my 2 cents worth regarding Dr Loh.
He is a good Doctor. And there are alot of successful cases under him. But just like Fond said in a post above, there have been cases which have been unsuccessful under him. I have done 3 fresh cycles, and all have failed. He did his best for me but my case was just one of those highly challenging ones. So, Dr Loh's magic hands were not enough see through a BFP for me.
Dr Loh might have high success rates, but that does not provide a full picture. You need to see what problems you have. Each case is unique and some might be more challenging to overcome than others. For instances like diminished ovarian reserve, or problems with implantation or scarring in the uterine environment, there is little that can be accomplished with standard long or short protocols. That was the situation with me - KK's standard procedures was not sufficient for someone like me sufffering from severe endometriosis and diminished ovarian reserve. But that is a limitation of the hospitals in Singapore that can't be helped.
Actually, I live in US and came down to Singapore to do the IVF due to cost considerarions, and in US, they publish detailed statistics on the success rates of IVF in the clinics across different states. Some clinics might have lower success rates, but we should not write them off in favor of the high success rates cos' some of these clinics with lower success rates take on very very difficult cases, and naturally, there are more BFNs over there.
So don't be mislead with overall statistics. You need to look at the breakdown of the statistics. If you have a certain problem such as PCOS or say male infertility problem, etc talk to the doctor of your choice and ask how much of success he has with that problem per se. That would be more indicative of success.
