tigermummy, IUI is less than 1K. but mine is normal IUI so cheaper...SO-IUI requires hormones jab will be more ex...

suayana can advise u onthe cost of ivf..i tink is less than 10k and it varies on individual depending on the qty of jabs u have

thanks sunflower seed, i have not inform the nurses at kkivf abt the fet, will call them on D1 of my cycle. Still got that memo fr dr loh to kkivf abt my fet using feb menses. Will u continue with dr loh as ur gynae?

IUI no need to wait long.just go for consultation..and prob the gyne will ask u do it after next menses...currently queue for NUH is not long..ususally just wait for 1 mth. like u register infeb..pron u can do ivf in Apr

My first cycle with Prof was about $8.5k. Can use medisave and the grant. So in fact, I did not come up with any cash for the cycle. It is only for the blood test prior the cycle.
The one that is most expensve is the GonalF injection. If you use more than have to pay more.
What Hope_4_bb said is true, queue is not that long. I had already booked a slot for April.

Hope_4_bb, are you still with Prof.

yea..he is the only fertility specialist in NUH..and i died died have to go to gyn ein NUH due to some preexisting illness which i am following up in NUH as well. I have book a slot for apr as well.. but PC wong need my other specliast to give me the greenlight to go ahead with ivf. Will be seeing the specialist and pc wong in March again. Actually I wonder why not much people doing at NUH. Are you going to request for D3 freexzing?

is some standard infectious disease that you and huby have to take irregardless is IUI or IVF. think is about $300 per person. Lady will have to do a blood test on Day 2 and Day 19(cant really remember which day) of menses..that test is not too ex

I called NUH just now and I was told for Fertility Treatment, we can choose PC Wong or Steven Chew. PC Wong charges are more exp but Steven Chew only comes in on Monday n Wed.

I hv made an appt to see PC Wong on 3 Mar... hopefully things will go well.

Hi,
I am asking on behalf of my fren. she supposed to start her ivf next month but during the scan, doc found she has cyst and ask her to cancel the ivf and remove the cyst. Actually she just had laparascopy to remove cyst on her right last year and now the scan shows she had another one in left. Anyone with such experience?
She's quite devastated cos she can't wait to proceed with the ivf after the last laparascopy. but now the doc ask her to postpone.

Hi Elle,
There are other alternative treatment to treat the cyst other than going for another laparascopy. Suggest your friend seek a 2nd opinion. I have the same problem, cyst re-appeared after lap last year. It is not recommended to do lap too many times as it will affect the natural functions of our ovaries/uterus.
 
Hope 4 bb,I am also wondering why no q. But hood for us. No need to wait that long. I guess mayb the distance ???
So maybe you are using your apr cycle... Maybe we can be cycle buddies. I hope everything will be ok. I need to re do all my blood test as it has expired. Is this your first cycle?
 
Tiger mummy, I spent about 12k for ivf with prof. Depending how much dosage u require for the gonalf to determine how much the total cost going tobe. The initial blood test is not claimable total for hubby n wife blood test n sperm test will be around $ 500-600. Then insurance, embryos freezing, n if u want sperm freezing are all by cash/credit.
 
The complusory blood test for couples to take b4 embarking on IUI/ IVF is $300 per person !?!?

Its the HIV/ Syphilis/ Hep B test lei ....

yep first cycle. but my specliast doc have not given the green light. PC wong says he will approve once my specliast give consent thou I have already reserve the apr slot

Tigermummy, I went for his talk last year at one of the museum. We were able to make appt with him there thru his nurses. So that wad what I did. So after that all along call the clinic n make appt with him. But after u r confirm an ivf patient u can call CHR nurses n they can help you with anything. They are nice nurses and very caring

Tigermummy, for me I just called his clinic for appt. No need referral as we are all consider as private. No subsidy other than govt grant for ivf.

Mine the first jabs started on feb 9. yes try not to think so much to stress ourself up. I was like very kanchiong before the cycle start but now am kinda relax and just keep reading the info here on and off.

So far all the morning check up I take my own leave. (half day). When it comes to ER i plan to take 1 day. The day of the ET or so , 2 days in advance I plan to tell my boss I am going for a minor surgery in KKH (tell him woman problem) and alert him that I be on HL or wat la.. so in this case he can arrange in a way work not affected.

Have failed my so-iui(at 125iu,increase to 150iu) this mth.did 2 rss iui last yr (1xsolely clomid,1x clomid + puregon), both failed.
juz finish review w dr fong,n decided to embark on ivf.
Contemplating sf loh or nuh pc wong.

Hope to gather more advises here.

Me too,was so upset fail my soiui n cried my heart out.felt all energy drained n no courage to start another cycle...
 
Ceraine, i was only crying so hard when i failed my second clomid iui in dec 2008. But now i think back actually shldnt even give iui a second attempt coz iui is as good as trying naturally... glad that u r considering ivf to make ur dream nearer...

my considerations n holdback of ivf-I mightbleed excesively during ER,and d Gynae muz work closely w haematologist thru my ivf treatmt.tat is added cost n risk.

yah,considering I spend 2.6k this rd..ivf w subsidy even cheaper w higher success.
If start another so-iui,if will cost ms abt 3k.then no pt lah..

yah,when I mc2yr bk,my world crash ! Had so much hope for this soiui...we'll hope for d best in upcoming ivf.

hmm...is pc wong a cool Gynae n has to follow his instruction?a no nonsense guy?

I came a long way too. TTC for 6 years with 3 failed IUIs before I proceed to IVF. My son now is 29 months old and I am now preggy with twins (FET)

Ceraine- Hahaha, glad to see u here as well. I also got a fren's sis under Prof Wong, she used to be under SF Loh, but then changed to Prof Wong 'cos she prefer the fact that she get to see him regularly compared to SF Loh
 
Thanks for the advice on the nuts, think I'll start off with the nuts 1st. Cos I will be taking TCM too scared will conflict if I take the supplements too.

How many brazil nuts must I consume for it to be effective?
 
This is my 1st so-iui with kkhivf, my cd10 scan shows lining 9mm with 2 follicles 16.5mm and 13mm. As i still test neg on opk, docs suggest to continue with puregon injection (75iu) and come back for scan on cd12. My question is must i test +ve on opk in order to take pregnyl injection (hcg 5000iu)? What if both follicles and lining already ideal for iui and opk still -ve?

I'm thinking of seeing PC Wong too as my SIL was recommending him as her colleague got pregnant after just one try and plus the govt subsidy and all, she need not have to fork out too much cash.
 
Pink, a number of us under dr loh r pregnant at 1st tries also. N some with twins! Go to mtb thread n u will see the table n which doc has the most patient

Lyn, I dun think is fair for u to comment tt pc wong is more professional n knowledgable than dr loh.
 
minakochang when i did my so-iui last june, i was also tested negative on the OPK but as my follicles are of mature size, think bigger than 17mm, i was given hcg. Good Luck!

i'm new. Recommend by my fren to KKH Dr Loh SF. Understand from them under Dr Loh care is gd. Also advise from them that 1st IVF they gt sucess & some was with twins. so amazing.

i will hav a appt wif Dr Loh on coming sat. Was feeling so nervous nw. could anybody advise hw was the 1st appt wif him & wat he will do during the 1st consultation???
 
minakochang hcg is to release the eggs, and 2 days later, doc will do the iui process.
No my soiui was not a success, went on to ivf.
but there are also many who suceed in soiui

I duno why but i wld feel the jitters to go kkh as I have been hearing negative things at kkh.
 


Pink, yes there is govt grant. See dr loh at pte suite instead of clinic d. If u r already seeing him at clinic d at first visit is okay, just tell the nurse u want to transfer to pte suite the 2nd visit. Pte suite has a much cozy n nicer waiting environment. But consultant charge will be Abt 10 bucks more ex n u can set ur appointment after work Also

dr loh is a very biz Man so may not hv so much time to talk to u.. But he is gd.. Every wkday morning, he has to do his rounds of visiting patients at the wards, do ER, ET, day surgery to do n he needs to run clinics too .. Still got emergency n delivery to attend to At times leh...

But if there is anything serious n impt, he sure will explain to u. He is also contactable via his personal email address all the times, even when he is at his year end holidays. Though sometimes he ignores our emails, tt wld mean is not impt n we dun hv to worry

the kkhivf nurses r also very experienced n skilful when it comes to injections.

Of course the negative sides r the long wait as dr loh has lots of patients n the not so personalized service as ivf scans r done by sonographer.
