IVF/ICSI Support Group

sisters, the result is positive. but beta reading is low, 119. So i need to get support later & retest on Monday again.. got to pray hard hard...

Big fat congrats to you Hazel... hope to catch ur baby Dust!!!

Don't give give up StarBabies....would u like to consider nuh?

Cat, may I know the reason why you switched from private practice to NUH? Were you with TFC then? I'm also considering switching to TFC if I'm going private.

Can let me know your comparison between NUH and private practice, please?

Hi StarBabies... previously i was with one of the Doc in Thomson Medical and i did 2 round of IVF but wasn't successful ...

Due to my medical condition, my husband and i went through lots of good DOC in Singapore and we finally decided that It will be Prof as he seem very confident in what he is doing...

Offcourse...private practice might seem more lux but in the end is the doc that should be the focus here...

Cat, how should I make an appointment to see Prof then? Does that mean that you have to bring your previous records for him to review or you have to start all over again?

It's not about the luxury or prestigious part of seeing private practice, I do not have doubts about Dr Loh's professional skills and knowledge, but it seems like at KKH, you only get to see your Doc at consultation, ER and ET, that's all. And the consultation with the doc is less than 5 mins. Does this happen at NUH?

Hi Starbabies,
When I switched from private to NUH, both my hubby and i had to do all the blood tests. I had to repeat the HSG as well. I was told it' becos it's gov grant so they have to verify.
I did give him a copy of all my past reports too.
If you call direct to make appt (Emerald clinic), it would be consider private patient. Charges will be higher per consultation but it is faster. If you have time wait, i think you can get referral and consultation charges will be lower.

Suyana, i asked the nurse, she said at kkh, only when readings are >200 beta than no need to retest. but she did say, i tested 1 day early... ie D17 today.

hazel.big congrats and take care.

I'm going to be on pregnl on Monday
and ER on Wednesday. ET should be either on
Friday on Saturday.

nurses were telling me about side effects of pregnl.
Any tips on what to do and not. Also what food to
take and avoid

Singapoh, u really think is okay & it will go up on Monday? I need to go down to get support later.

my gf said if it is a good embyro, it will go up. if not, "bu4 yao4 qiang2 qu2"

Hi StarBabies....yes you have to bring all your record for prof to see...well on the first consultation it can be more then 30min as he will analyze your medical situation and make recommend his options for you...Be prepare to ask him question...the more you ask the more he can provide the answer ans solution..

I see prof on almost all my appt...sometime can be 5min ...sometime longer depending whether i have any question to ask him....

Before him...i have seen more then 3 to 4 other doc and find prof to be the best one who understand my condition....

Bakaholic, thks for the info. Sounds troublesome that we may have to start all over again.

The strange thing was that when I first went to KKIVF to see Dr Loh last year, I brought all my previous records to show him. He did not ask me to redo any of the procedure nor ordered for any BT but straight away ask me to go for laparoscopy to remove blockage in one of my tubes. After that, he ask me to try naturally for 6 months before doing IVF.

Stababies, I see Dr Loh early this year with my BT and other checks from TMC. Dr Loh also didn't ask me redo any procedure or BT. But asked me go for a day surgery to remove polyps.
Thereafer i did a SO-IUI with him and a IVF recently which both failed.
I will be seeing Dr Loh on 6 Jan, will discuss with him when I can do my FET.

call them alr but they said nothing to worry about...cos is too early for menses...ask me to wait till next wk...actually i'm not sure which day as i did a D5 FET transfer on the14th dec....my bt is 24th

Singapoh, i am buying christmas present for friend's kids so can't buy household goods lah. =p

Just came back from Ikea, bought a set of their children mini kitchen. the kids can have role play. =)

Hi Gan, when I had a chemical pregnancy after my fresh cycle in July this year, I waited for 6 months to do my medicated FET. The reason was because my menses became irregular (spotting and no full flow) after that. I called KKIVF centre and they told me to wait until I have a full flow before I could do the FET. However, I still had the same problems and I emailed Dr Loh who asked me to make an appointment to see him immediately, in the end, we discovered there is a cyst on my right ovary. I did not have cyst problem before this. But, he prescribed some pills for my menses to come.

I would suggest you observe your menses and ask Dr Loh to help you to do a U/S when you see him in Jan. Ensure that everything is ok before you embark on FET.

Starbabies,
If you are from kkh, perhaps you can transfer the reports over. Do check with hospital or any ladies here can help?
I spent about $800+ for the blood tests for both of us.
And it's good if you can see him to decide if you are comfortable with him.

Hazel, be positive. It will go up on monday.

Btw anyone know when does implantation bleeding occur? How many days after ovulation?

Starbabies, my menses now is very heavy.. i suppose to do the BT today but my menses came full flow on Tuesday, heavier than usual. Yes, will ask Dr Loh on an U/S.

Su-Yana i read on website, implantation can happen between 6 to 10 days after ovulation. So if implantation happens late, you may see the implantation bleeding later as it takes time to travel.

Bakaholic, I dun tink we can transfer the reports, can we? What I understand is that we may need to pay for the reports.. Can anyone enlighten on this, please?

Hazel,
don't forget 1 of my embies is grade 2. U musn't
always worry. This is just e beginning. Pregnancy
is another journey...

Cat, do u mean to say that you get to see Prof on all your visits, while in the midst of doing your IVF procedure? Cos in KKIVF, we don't get to see him until ER and ET.

Starbabies, sorry to hear ur news.

Hazel, Congrats.....relax...it will go up they just want to make sure. so they call u or u call them? heh u can go shopping

Hazel, congrats, don't worry about the level, think its ok. Mine was only 93 when they tested on D15, but I'm still ok.
Take care and don't do heavy work or get too stressed
