Spiffy, I spoken to most frens and they advise to go on natural unless there's complications. It's easier for the mum and baby to recover. Even my SIL was telling me yesterday......it's either u bear the pain during delivery or after that, and the pain after that usually takes longer to go away...

Well, my MIL relatives should all know by now....most of our frens know too, though there are a few which I am waiting to officially announce when my tri 1 is over. My boss and team definitely are aware of it.....

Soon-to-be, u hit the jackpot on natural vs c section delivery. natural recovery is abt a wk.. But c section is at least a mth.. for the pain to be completely gone.

Yup....Flow is today or over the nite...I tink I will tel the nurse abt it and let them decide when is CD1, I tink is today la....
As the day draws near, I m feeling excited and a lil worried....
 
Rostrum, worried on? The jabs???? Dun worry, rhetorical jabs r nothing. Serious. I jab myself everyday n no sweat n minimum pain if any

Now I got to start checking my home inventory le...like contact lenses, shampoo...so tt they will last me till end of Jan...

hazel, yap no problem walking. If i hv problem settling my breakfast & lunch, so it will be gd to stay with someone rite ??? I guess we need nutritious food during this period.

i think i hv abt 13 - 15 follicles, smallest 8 and biggest 18 (not sure, doctor did not tell me is juz that i heard then telling the nurse to jot down the sizing thus i guess is for the follicles. As for lining is 9. How abt u, i thought u went for the scan too also?

Ntcgrace, u need to rest after ET, esp the few days straight after. If u still rest staying alone. Then is fine. Thereafter, no cramps nothing, then mild activities shld be fine. just relax.
 
Ntcgrace, get a slow cooker. Cook some soup. Throw kuay teow in. ur dh comes home then he washes up.. Ingredient go buy today. Clean n freeze n stock up. Buy cereals n oats. Those that cook with boiling water quickly. Buy multi grains bread, peanut butter, cheese, yogurt, etc. Made urself. All these r nutritious. N will not take too much of ur time. Stock up on fruits like apples also. For snack.. N brazil nuts.
 
Ntcgrace, buy sweat potatoes. wash n can throw the whole thing into oven to bake. Cooked leow anytime u wan to eat for tea break all there. All these very simple to prepare.
 
if u take salad, buy lettuce, baby romaine, baby tomatoes. Just need to wash, put them in a big bowl, throw in cut apples with skin, cheese, raisins, that is ur lunch already.
 
Ntcgrace, for me, I did almost everything as per normal after 1 day of ET, except doing them slower than usual. For instances, a normal walk to the market may only take 10 minutes, i will slowly stroll and the journey takes abt 15-20 mins bah.

I guess for me, I didn't visited this forum till I BPF, tt's y I didn't do all the things that everyone is saying except listening to the advise that my gf gave me: "positive and happy mentality, try not to over exert urself during 2ww"

I went to KKH on my own for 2 blood tests (prior to the final one). One coz they worried i might get OHSS (i had 18 eggs retrieved) and another blood test (I experienced spotting and I got worried so I rushed to KKH). And I even went to SGH to visit my MIL by taking public tpt, shld be the 5th and 7th day after my ET. Swept and mopped the house, and cooked for the family thoughout the 2ww......
 
Ntcgrace, u cook? If yes, maybe u jus wan to stock up food so that you can cook for urself. During the 1st week, I cooked porridge for myself, and night time wait for my hubby to buy back.

2nd week, as my MIL is back at home, I cook the usual stuff for the family...no special diet for myself, except i avoid cold drinks. Partly coz I already did my BT earlier and KKH confirmed that I have low pregnancy detected.

Life for me during the cycle and 2ww was pretty much usual except lesser cold drinks and no late nights....

Was your HCG on the butt or thigh? If it's the thigh, which part of it?
Yup, went for the scan but follicles still not big enough at about 13.5 so need to scan again on Mon

Does the 13-15 follicles include the small ones or all about 16, 18mm? What time is your ER? All the best!
 
Rostrum, full AF flow consider D1.
I had spotting before my AF just before i started my stage 1, and the nurse says must be full flow to be D1.
Have you taken all the necessary bloodtest?
 
Muksi, when I did my HCG at 24 hrs for my SO-IUI, it was on my upper thigh. The nurse ask me sit on a sofa and she inject on the thigh.
 
Hazel, thanks for the infor on the bags but bottega and chanel are too ex for me to buy. My sis is in Paris now for biz, so though of asking her help me get something to reward myself for all the injections. he he he

It's funny that nurses in KKH did not tell u what not to do after your ET. That's what i hate abt KKH when comes to IVF. I went thru twice in KKH and find that their service seems to be like factory way.
I'm now in my 2ww and is going thru IVF this time with NUH. I find that their service is much much better. If u going thru a 2nd time maybe you can reconsider there.

When I did IUI twice, the HCG's injected on my butt.
 
Muki, it's the side of the thigh
ys when I was at thomson med, for the few HCG I have the nurse at TMC will make me lie on my side and inject on the side of the butt. Not as painful as compare to the side of thigh. And at TMC, before she inject, she will ask me give a cough, not sure if that helps.
 
blessbb, those girls who r pregnant naturally also go to work n do things per normal. Ivf pregnancy is no diff other than it is more precious coz of wat we hv been thru. So we tend to be more mindful. But in the eyes of medical profession, they most likely no think there is a diff.

Muski, HCG pain or no pain still hv to go through. Bopian. Just turn away when was injected n endure for that few seconds loh... Wat to do

i wont b trying again for the time being... i hope my result wont make any of u feel dishearten.. wish u gals all the best and hope u all will get ur bfp...

the jab is around middle side of the thigh, juz bear with it, only for a few seconds. Last nite, the nurse was praising those who undergo IVF, is a difficult task, she herself dun even dare to go IVF. Juz rem that we already went thru all the ordeal, this round we def can make it.

not sure abt the follicles qty & size, the doc did not brief me and i overheard them saying in the scan room thus i assume that was the size. My ER is at 8.20am.

BlessBB, actually I'm quite glad that the nurses in KKH didn't share much with me. With my character, I might think too much and in the end stress myself. Last night, I was jus telling my hubby that I am v glad that I only found this thread after I have gone thru the cycle. Otherwise, I will really be v bothered with the Dos and Donts and the size of the follicles and BT results. I am glad that God arranged the situation for me that I was able to go thru my cycle in a happy, positive and stress-free state, and now I'm in my 11th week of pregnancy.

If I were need to do IVF for my 2nd kid, I think I will still choose KK.......
 
Gan, r u referring the BT for suspected OHSS or the pregnancy BT?

BT for suspected OHSS, I think on the day of ET. and day 5/6th after ET

For the 1st Pregnancy BT, I did the 1st one on 10th day after BT coz I have spotting on the 9th day. After that, it's the final BT 1 week later....
