think the best is u visit tis 2 drs...see who u comfortable with and goes w ur heart? of cos statistic wise kkh gt the highest..cos they gt lots of patients...and dr loh is known to be the most famous dr in kkh...but in term of individualised care nuh nurses are more attentive..and tis 2 hosp use diff stimulation drugs...diff progesterone support, and procedure wise also quite different
 


hi ladies who have gone through FET
i need some urgent advice. Just got my menses today...however as IVF centre is already closed, I am panicking a bit because cannot remember whether I am supposed to start the PROGYNOVA pills on D2 of menses or D5?

I hv went to c Dr Loh 3 times...personally I feel tt he is not those v caring type and always in a rush of time..mabbe I always went to him on Sats...and there is always a lot of patients waiting for him....

Actually I hv wasted a lot of money in gynae hopping (not for IVF)...and in TCM...hoping tt I can conceive naturally...bt its not lo...so I hope to gather more feedbacks before I go to C Dr Wong...his 1st consultation is not cheap...

U personally goes to which gynae?

U r a brave girl for coming back to share with us. Get back to ur fit and healthy self again and try again when u r ready, ok. It can be v. traumatic but time really heals and u will be ready again. Hugs.

Very true .. I wonder when every person easily gets pregnant and whines abt it that it is too soon and they are not ready. I really don’t know how to react.. I literally feel like shouting . Might be ,we all sisters here have to go through the tougher path to reach motherhood for a reason. We will be gifted with very special ones. Iam just hoping its success for all sisters for here.

Meow, can't remember already who wearing what clothing that day.

Today my scan result is biggest follicles at 15mm. Prof Wong said good but reduce gonalf dosage to 262.5 as he doesn't want me to have more follicles already.
Monday needs to review again. Hopefully can ER on Wed if not will be Thursday.

Yeah, i like the CHR nurses too.

I too wonder why some ladies can go for multiple abortion and feel as it nothing had happen. I guess these ladies just get pg so easily and they think it is ok to terminate their pg and they are very sure they can get pg again.
Ppl like us are struggling just to get pg. I hope one day all of us will get pg and have beautiful story to share.

Meow, u mention u are waiting for your test record to be send to you. Do you need to pay for it? How much does it cost?
 
Su yana, ya very angry that why God so unfair. If they dun want the pregnancy why gv it to them whereas ppl like us wait till neck long long already and still wanna. Well... we juz have to tell urself that ours is a chosen one and we juz have to go thru what others dun have too....

Vi4n, u at which day of gonal? How many follicles do u have?

Rortrum, so far kk dr loh has the highest success rate and the huge numbers of pts doing there shld be the main reason which doing the percent of suceessful cases. Some drs say gonal f and puregon is the same juz that they r from diff company but to wat i know frm sisters here and from internet reseatch there r instead many ppl who dun response well to puregon do response better to gonal f and vice verse... Suggest u make an appt to see prof then decide lor coz to wat i know not everyone will like his style and character coz i got a frd who find him arrogant. Intially i also thought i wont like him coz he is very stern looking and yes alittle arrogant and really no nonsense or joke type of dr.

i'm on Day 11 of Gonalf.
Hm.. i don't actually hear clearly on many follicles I have, but should be around 17 to 23.

Ya i think we need to have 'yuan' with the doctor.

This coming Monday Prof Wong is on Holiday, so he did personally tell me, who will do the scan for me. I'm comfortable with him.

Actually I searched online on the success rate of 3 SGH, NUH, KKH. KKH is around 40%, SGH and NUH are around the same at 37%-42%. So I guess all 3 hospitals success rate are about the same. Just that so many are going to KKH, so of course a lot of success stories compare to the other 2 hospitals.
Most important is we need to feel comfy with the doctor and the location of the hospital. If not like with every 3-4 days visit, can you imagine the distance to travel? or if every visit we must wait for a long time, some hubby also may not have the patience plus the working commitment also. So all these may add to the unnecesssary stress to IVF.

Ya u r right, dr and the travelling distance, environment and nurses all play apart lor... Hope u BFP and we will be motivated by u esp those doing or considerating to do at nuh..

Now Prof and nurses worry I may be risk of OHSS, that's why they asked me to reduce the gonalf dosage now. Just hope more follicles grow to the good size for ER.
I can see from screen like only 4 are in around 15mm.
 
Hi vi, ohss is high since u got so many follicles. Did prof see what follicle size he is happy to see? Coz i remember during the cycle when i was told i m not responsing well to puregon 250iu i was told i have 2 follicles of 16mm and 10mm @D7 of puregon...
 
Hi Lyn, Prof said sizes are good for now, he just doesn't want me to have more follicles already because since 3 days ago scan, the no. of follicles increased by a lot according to him. i think from increase by 5 follicles. Anyway as long Prof said no problem so I'm ok.

Just need to monitor closely. So monday need to scan, then if not ready for ER on Wed, then Tuesday also need to review again.

hi ttc_2, think it is day 4 for prognova (according to kkivf). Prescription says take in the morning or otherwise just stick to the same time everyday to maintain the level for hormones.

God do things for a reason. The person who does the abortion will be punished and they will learn their lesson the hard way. I still believe God is fair. He will give it to us when it is time. We have to be patient and believe.

if i rem... prognovona should be taken from d2 onwards.... im also waiting for my af to come to start this med... we are suppose to take from d2 till the day we go review scan on d14 for me...is it the same for u?

Is he friendly and caring? I rmb sometime ago...someone mentioned he is a man of few words....

I am so glad tt u answered my question....Thanks a lot! And I am so relieved now tt ya...the high success rate in KKH is higher than NUH cos of more patients there...I mus agree...bt Dr Loh is well known for his lucky hands lo...I hope Prof Wong will be a lucky man also...kekekekekeke...

I m quite stressed up on deciding the doc actually cos my dh actually ask me which doc is the best and can one time succeed? I was like duh..since when there is a guarantee on 1 time success for IVF? The question he ask me makes me rather worried tt he will be disappointed if I fail on my 1st attempt!

I straightaway answer him tt IVF is depending on one's health and luck...There is no saying of which doc is the best....is which doc we are more comfortable wif....

I hope we will feel comfortable when miting up wif Prof Wong tis Sat...** pray pray **

I do not know tt Prof do all the scannings by himself! Cool!!! I oni noe tt in KKH and SGH, the scannings are done by Sonographer...and we seldom get to c the doc...

So I suppose ET and ER are also done by Prof himself?

Prof's 1st consultation is $115 before GST...
 
Ladies I feel so horrible. Been vomiting about 5 times since ER day.. now is D2 after ET.. cold sweat. nauseous, giddy .. i feel awful. yesterday went kk 24 hours, dr gave me a jab and gave me some anti nauses pills.

i stopped the antibiotics, cos i think it's making me puke.. anyone of u have the same?

he say i have mild OHSS, i cant imagine severe!! i m not sure if this will get better or not..

anyone can advice me oor help me?! i had plans to eat this and that etc, but now nothing can go in....sigh.. it's def the no of eggs retrieved.. 49!!!

Sorry tt I could not advise u on the OHSS...perhaps other ladies whom has experienced it before can advise u better.

The anti nauseous pill cannot help u? Y dun u go back to ask the doc again?

49 eggs is definitely is a lot! Wow!

U hv gone this far..yr efforts will pay off...I m sorry tt I duno hw to help u...bt to ask u to be stronger!!! Jia you....hope yr vomit goes away soon...**pray**

do monitor and if get worse, go back to see gynae or 24 hours clinic immediately. Please stay strong for the embryos.
 
Oxidised, the small white pill that foc prescribed post et should help prevent vomitting. Did you take protein or egg white? about 3 egg white per day. I did not have ohss but you have a lot of eggs retrieved so a little more risky. Rest well n increase protein.

I had 43 eggs retrieved previously and suffered from OHSS too. I could not take any food and barely water. I took lots of isotonic drinks like H20. The doctor said I could stop my antibiotics. Just try to stay hydrated. take small sips of water throughout the day. I was told to take 2l! I found that water like H20 and ribena tasted better for me than plain water. And dry crackers like biscuits etc also settled better for me. Hope these tips help...

ohss can be unbearable... but be strong ok... u've come so far... cry if u have to... most important is to keep urself hydrated... if can't take any food at least take some porridge or soup... if can't stomach plain water look for something that helps u ease the nausea like ribena or diluted 100 plus or H2O.... but since u are still in 2ww... try not to take any cold drinks... just take them at room temperature...

quite a few ladies here suffer from ohss and we got thru it... u can too! jia you!

what time is your appt? which doc r u scheduled to see? Dr Annu?
how old r u? mayb i can look out for u tomorrow.
Good luck. hope your follicles grow to the desired size so that u can prescibed ovidrel to proceed to OR (they termed OR in NUH, KKH called them ER).

Just hoping my D10 scan can show 10 follicles good for retrieval praying for the same.

I am also like you when i had my OHSS, vomit everything out that i eat. Do you have bloatness? If yes do get yourself admitted straight do not wait.
Like what eskimobaby mention, try to drink some soup to get a little of the nutrients. However if you vomit even with soup, see if you can take diluted ensure or protein powder to at least have some protein intake. This is important to stop OHSS. Feel feel to PM me if you like to know more about OHSS. Take care

I always tell my hubby we women are very strong..especially those strong enough to go through IVF and the UP and DOWNs. After all these you have become a stronger woman, hence by no time we will be up again to work hard towards our dream.

Oh yes..its good to lose weight, for me i feel so much better after losing weight, gain confidence, regulate my menses and better health. YOu be in better stage for next cycle

I feel its good to educate our hubby on the expectations of IVF..most importantly they have to know what we have to go through. Because regardless of success or failure, they need to apprenciate what we go through to have a baby.

I'm on and off this forum since i started my cycle couple of years ago and have seen hubby who blame their wife when they fail IVF. This is horrible.

Yes,...I hv been telling him tt there is no such thing as go for the best doc and succeed at the very 1st try...he keep saying I got no plm, so shd succeed at the 1st try...bt I keep telling him dun pin too high hopes...I m worried he is pinning too high hopes...I noe he wun blame me if it fails..bt I noe he will be v disappointed...

I wonder whether poor sperm count quality will affect the chances of IVF? I was told by Dr SF Loh previously tt he oni need 1 good sperm for IVF procedure...Not sure whether Prof Wong will agree as well...jus hv to bring along the SA result next Sat for his review ba....

I hope I can embark on this journey soon....really!
