meow dearie... i know its difficult not to worry but do try to stay positive. it could be implantation. you have had good signs so far. have an early nite tonight. if you are wondering if can put in 2 inserts in a day, try calling 97320897... its the number given by the CHR nurses to call after office hours.

I think they would give u the results by Sat, they might do an urgent one so that they could give u the additional support. Indicate to them that u would like to know the result within the same day, see what they can do. Wish u all the best for your BT tomorrow!

it's ok to cry to release your stress & worry....talk to your DH, I am sure he is also at a lost too...u r travelling on this ivf journey with your DH, so share your thoughts with him and support each other. I am sure he would very much want to be your shoulder to cry on and pillar of support! Pray for you.

The battle is not lost yet, I can understand how u feel. I discovered fresh blood today & was so depressed over it. Dr asked me to c him immediately to scan, if necessary may need to be hospitalise. My heart had sunk to the bottom, tks god is false alarm & I get to c my twins' heartbeat.

fancy... i had ectopic pregnancy, not by ivf though. it happens when the embryo grows in either the fallopian tube or ovary. in my case the latter. the chances of ectopic pregnancy happening again is higher in women who experienced it before but it should not affect your fertility if you received early treatment.
i read somewhere that sometimes the embryos travel up into the fallopian tube after ivf transfer. it may implant itself in the tube instead of the uterus which is why one cannot detect the pregnancy yet blood test shows your are pregnant.
stay positive and strong. you may still be able to save your baby. my best wishes and prayers for you.

However, it may not be etopic as etopic pregnancy is very rare. During all my miscarriage, they always want to rule out etopic pregnancy cuz it can be dangerous if undetected. They jus want to rule it out to be safe. On a brighter side, now u know u can get pregnant, its just unlucky that its not the right one this time. Be strong, ok. You will get through this.Time heals. Be strong and try again when u r ready. I used to try n put on a brave face but I realized I get on better after a good cry. So its ok to cry. Hugs.

Doctor said the possibility is ectopic pregnancy. it can be removed by injection if it is small. if not i have to undergo a surgery for the removal.

Hi fancy, ectopic pregnancy can never be saved.. ectopic pregnancy will be ruled out with further scans and sac detected at the correct place or sac undetected with HCG level continue to drop with repeated BT.
for my ivf, mine was +ve. on the day scheduled to see doc, nothing being detected, and doc sent me down for emergency detail scanning to ensure no sac found outside the womb. if yes, then will need go for emergency operation. nothing still found so was asked to take HCG BT. one week later, HCG level dropped only abit and i was told to take oral medication to abort it. then another BT again...
This time round, HCG increase... doc said its better to stop the pregnancy once and for all in case sac is hidding outside womb and burst one day, then it will be trouble which will cause infertility. so i agreed with the injection which is used on cancer patient to kill the cell. before knowing if i can take the jab, i have to went thru another BT to check on kidney and another which i can't remember. then waited for abt 2hrs for the result. When result show ok, nurse brought me upstair for the jab on thigh.
2 weeks later another hcg BT... my level dropped completely and im discharge from the whole episode..
I hope my case give u a clearer picture of possibility of ectopic and do hope u will not face the same like mine

Sorry, after the jab, i had a BT a week later, not 2 weeks later.. hcg level dropped by half and i was scheduled for another BT 2 weeks later before hcg level completely went down..
By agreeing with the jab, we will need to sign a consent of not conceive in the next 3-4 months.. then acknowledge the side effect like ulcer etc.. for me, i had bad headache on that day after jab and then ulcer.
the nurse will also call us few days later to check on our condition..

Thanks for the detail information. will keep u posted abt my postion. when did this happen?? u trying IVF now - which stage u r in?? Sounds very scary.. looks like u r very brave . I need to build up my strength. iam totally depressed now. i would have handled BFN better than this complications.

2. One of Prof Wong's patient also experienced a good level of BT and during the scan, found no sac. She did not elaborate further (it was during one of the seminar at nuh) if it was an etopic pregnancy. But most important is, she subsequently did another cycle and conceived successful and had given birth.
So keep monitoring your BT and yes, you definitely stand a very good chance of success. In fact prof said that for patients like that, their chances of subsequent success is there. I know its hard, but after a good cry, please keep your chin up. We are here for you.

i know this is hard... i've read that there's a risk too in ivf that the pregnancy could result in ectopic... i was told to be careful after my 6 weeks scan too... cos my HCG BT was pretty high and doc was expecting twins... but they could only see 1 sac... so doc ask me to be careful and inform him immediately if i experience any sharp pain or cramps in case the other embie is stuck in the fallopian tube which can't be detected with normal scan... so if u experience any pain do go to A&E immediately
my SIL has got an ectopic pregnancy before so i know how it is... she had no choice but to remove one of her tubes becos the ectopic pregnancy wasn't detected earlier and her tube was badly infected...
like wat the rest said... even tho this experience is not going to give u the result u want... but at least it tells u that u can get pregnant... and i'm sure once u r ready again... u have a high chance of success

IVF is a tough process in terms of physically and emotionally. Be well prepared to embark the journey.
The success rate is depending on the age, body conditions etc. There are many ladies got BFP on their first try. There are others got BFP after a few tries. Be strong when it is BFN and always try again. Go for it..
My few cents of thought..

i'm back home after BT n injection. Test results showed postive for pregnancy. So now got to go for injections twice weekly to support the pregnancy. I'm feeling emotionally more stable now cos I know I still have a chance. So now more rest for me.

Hi Meow!!! CONGRATS!!!! Our 1st M succeeded!!! Now u have to rest well... more bed rest!!!! and eat more healthy food ok.... no spicy stuff!!

Glad that you still remember me. No time to go through the posts everyday hence did not post on forum often. Guess many of the sisters have graduated..mostly are new going through cycles like us.
Yes i'm going strong now and preparing for my next FET. These few mths i have managed to reduce some weight and re-gained my health. Really bad experience for my last failed cycle...suffered OHSS, vomit for 4 days straight then hospitalised for 5 days...
However its ok..i learned something new after each failure, eg Why i am so weak and feel sick so often and i cannot take Ensure milk which will make me fat hence now i am taking protein powder recommended by my auntie.
So every cycle we learn something new...hope we can graduate soon...when you doing your next cycle/FET?

you could add in a few red dates for the taste. I also add in a little soy sauce for flavour. This glutinous rice will be quite sticky, unlike normal porridge. But just try to swallow it. I ate for a few weeks daily and after some time, really cannot stand the taste. Then i throw in the porridge ingredients, salted vegetables, chilly beancurd, etc, just to cover the tasteless glutinous rice.
