Hi hi everyone

Im new here. I had done a fail IVF recently. At first, my HCG indicate that I was pregnant, I was on pregy jab twice a week and last week went for scan and discovered that my embroyo was not growing! I feel very sad and depressing now.

Did anyone had the same experience as me? Did anyone went for tcm & accupunture at the same time b4 starting on IVF? Any recommendation on the clinic? Pls advise. I intend to try a new cycle of IVF in a few months time. Thanks.

The Kegel exercise can we do at this stage? Is it to practise yr vaginal muscle like holding urine and release it?

When is yr next scan? You prob will see the heartbeat by next visit. I did try to drink warm water but noticed that i now prefer cold drinks which i dun like previously.

Like Petals, that time i also no symptom esp during 1st wk of 2ww, while some of the cycle budies already had symtoms during 1st wk, i only started to feel bloated towards the end of 2ww..was abit worried at first but turned out fine. So dun worry.

Sorry to hear abt yr failed IVF. Hope you are feeling much better by now. Quite a no. of sisters during acu and tcm after failed ivf. Some went to the AMK clinic..you may want to try.

Not sure whether 10DPET is early to test or not. I only tested used the preg test kit abt 14DPET. If i remember correctly, i also dun have tender boobs that time, at first was wondering normal or not..guess different people different symptoms..stay +ve.

babydust - try to resist testing today or tomorrow on the pee stick. Do follow petals and nano's advice to wait for at least 2 or 3 days later. You know what, i do notice that my boobs are becoming less tender also....*sigh*. I do hope both of us are like nano and petals with minimal symptoms! Pray and hope for the best.

Btw, where did u start moving out of the house or did you stay grounded at home for the 2ww? i fear i cannot adjust in time for work next thurs, haha! Yes, will be returning to work before my 2ww is up unless a miracle happens next week and i start getting severe symptoms then i would continue to stay at home.

Noi - i'm very sorry to hear about your experience. Sorry that i won't be able to advise anything on TCM and acu. If you read the earlier posts, i think many of the sisters here went for acu before embarking on IVF. Please take some time to read through. Btw, you intend to start a fresh cycle of IVF? For me, i only have 3 frozen embies which are so precious to me.

I stayed home first 4 days or so,then went to work one day for training ( sit and listen to lecture whole day) and then next few days went out once/day to nearby shopping centre and walked around a bit, slowly, bought myself some cake n bubble tea...

And then rested again 2 days then yesterday a bit busy with festivities.

Don't worry about the lack of symptoms - every woman and every pregnancy is different.

I do not have many symptoms except I am perspiring much more easily now. Even that you can attribute to the recent hot spell.

So not to worry.

I tried a HPT 11DPET but only had a faint positive indication. It was only about 14DPET that the line started to become darker.

I'll be going for my blood test tomorrow. Am so glad I am finishing the progesterone jabs...they are quite tiring.

Sorry to hear abt ur failed cycle. Do u have any frozen embies left? I'm not sure abt the direct impact of acu, but i thought no harm to try it to increase my chances...n i got BFP. So maybe it did help... I started acu at AMK just before my lucrin stage. Stay positive, cos at least u know that u can get preggy.

I went to Carrefour n bought 2 simple Felancy bras w/o wire, $9.90 each, to wear at home. Then after walking for half hr, quite scary, I felt giddy n started seeing black spots n knew i was going to faint. So i quickly found a seat near the cashier area, while in a cold sweat. After 10min, felt ok. Think it must have been the big crowd n stuffy air. But first time this has happened to me.

When u go out, better avoid crowds n it helps to know where the seats are.

Been away for fews and the thread's really moving fast.. Friday nite had bad cough which resulted in a minor asthma attack. But I'm okay now... just not too sure if the cough mixtures and inhaler would affect my cycle.

Oh dear! Petals you better avoid crowded place, especially during 1st trimester... If bra with underwires not comfy, why not try those sphagetti stripped Camis with inner bra support. That way dun have to wear bra..

Thanks Jo for your comforting words. The state of mind is indeed so important. I realise i always try and make myself sleep when i do not want to think abt it.

babydust - hehe, sounds like you have been a little bit active during the 2ww. I have read that in western countries, they do not actually encourage complete bedrest for prolonged period. Some form of light activity may be good as well. For me, i also do light household chores like washing the dishes, cooking my own meals and hanging the laundry. However, i have not stepped out of the house since the day i went to sgh for my progesterone check.

Petals - please take care of yourself! weekend shopping is no joke and best if you have someone to accompany you. Have more rest ok?

Mrs Teng - hi! how have you been? do check with your doctor abt the medication you've taken to play safe. I suppose the weather now is a bit cranky and easy to fall sick. Really hafta be careful.

Dont worry about the sign. During my 2ww, all i think is as long as i dont see red, i still stand a chance. every woman is different.

I have only informed my parent and some of my close friends but friends do not know how many weeks i am at.

dont worries, i did a test on 12DPET instead of 10DPET as i was still on jab that time. Maybe wait for another few more days.

I saw somewhere wrote that tender boobies and the tummy will started to change depending on individual.

Yes the next visit should be able to see the heart beat but that will be two weeks later.

As long as you are able to drink water, that is great but is it alright to take cold drink.

I am sorry to hear about your experiences. Must nurse your health and try ACU which some of the sisters here did too.

You must take care especially when going out in crowded area, will be good to have accompany and most impt avoid children who are running around.

Dont worries about the cough mixture, i ever asked the nurses about this, as long as the cough mixture is safe for pregnant ladies. it is okay.
But still confirm with your gynae just to play safe.

Thanks for your concern. I actually made a trip to KK 24 hours clinic on Friday midnite.. so got cough mixture from them and also ascertained that the inhaler I'm using is okay.. The only worry is during ER, I don't think I can undergo GA but LA... see what doc got to say lor...

Welcome. It's common to get clumpy Crinone discharge, but usually it's whitish in colour. Not sure why urs is dark beige (do u mean brown?). Just monitor and see if it stops after a few days and reverts to white. Maybe some implantation bleeding too? Anyway, don't worry as long as ur doctor is aware of it.

How's ur protocol? Did u undergo lucrin and puregon too at Raffles?

I think it's a little early to be implantation bleeding. The Crinone is very dry and almost membrane like, like all the moisture has been absorbed. Anyway, I know I am being hyper...but I left it on the tissue and now it is hardened to a orange/dark beige like colour, not quite brown. I even compared this to an overnight Crinone stick where you have some residual Crinone left on the stick. I try and comfort myself that the colour is similar and comes from oxidation...although I wonder how much oxidation happens down there! Do you all do 2 Crinones a day? I understand some IVF Centres do only 1. Also searched through the 2WW thread and some sisters had had it coming out as pinkish...Anyway need to think positive++++

I was on the long protocol and did Lucrin with Gonal F. They say the long protocol has better result so there was no need to think further I guess. Also did accu at the TCM at Raffes before starting Lucrin. Am scheduled to go for a last accu tomorrow although I know that the sisters who go the AMK clinic don't do accu post ET. Asked the sinseh at Raffles and they say that it is their protocol but post ET, they do not stick any needles in the tummy area. Anyway,had 12 odd follicles and 8 mature eggs out of which 4 fertilised. At Raffles, you get the pictures of all the scans and they paste it nicely in a 2 page booklet during each scan with the doctors' comments etc on the size of each follicle and womb lining etc. Only thing is Raffles is quite pricey...my IVF is in the range of $16,000 if you count the TCM and all the drugs.

Just had my lunch - chicken drumstick boiled with maize, apples and ginger. (got this recipe from the diamond water show hosted by "Hao Yi"). Quite yummy and had a warm feeling in my tummy, good!

Lin Tan - welcome! and yes you and 1 are quite close in our ET dates. I'm with SGH Care and only allowed to transfer 2 embies due to my age (29 y.o) When is your blood test? I'm actually going to test on 13DPET. Starting to get the jitters as you know, i've been mentioning in this forum that i do not have those symptoms mentioned by the sisters here who struck positive.

Sorry that i have no experience with crinone as my post ET support is merely Duphaston...If you do not feel assured by the nurses, then do check with your doc. I'm not sure of the practice in Raffles but in SGH care, the only time i saw my RE was during the ET. All the while, my point of contact was the nurses. I think doctors shd be more entertainig in private practice. Do update us ok?

Aiyo..pls be careful, quite scary. Coincidently, last nite, I dreamt that i was walking outside alone when i felt giddy and fell to my feet. 2 boys passed by ignoring my plea for help, i tried to asked for medicated oil but no one came to me...gosh! getting weird dreams recently. I've been going to crowded places once awhile but find that everytime i shop awhile and wanted to go bk aredi...last time can continuously shop for many hrs but now easily tired..feel breathless sometimes so will try avoid going crowded pl too.

Nowsaday i dun wear bra at home cos no one except me n hb but dunno gd or not..no support, maybe boobs will become saggy. I will prob checked out the felancy bra which u mentioned..maybe get 1 or 2 pcs.

Hope yr asthma is under controlled, maybe u want email dr loh if u have any concern. How much yr ER will be GA? cos ours only under sedation.

Just came back from KKH. Blood test showed a positive HCG level of 1168 (? not sure the unit of measurement).

Am giddy with joy but tired after all the anxiety of the past week. Am going for a nap now.

At Kkh, we're given either hcg or daily progesterone jabs after ET, depending on how many eggs retrieved. Diff protocol, so don't worry. Interesting that raffles incorporates acu in ur program.

Yah i got bizarre dreams since getting preggy, n i wake up thinking how can that happen? Quite funny...
The bras i got r nothing fancy, just cheap ones for home, cos i don't know if my size will keep changing later. If u can wear back ur old cup size n want to stick to ur old bras, then u can just buy the bra extension to extend the length.

lin tan, long protocol is more costly cos more drugs involved, actually raffles & thomson cost is about the same, I was quoted $12K at thomson for short protocol, long protocol will be abt wat u pay at raffles, cos u doing tcm also, the price sounds pretty reasonable

The Crinone (twice a day) is on top of the HCG jabs that I get every 3 days. Had 1 progesterone jab also on the ET day also. There is no escaping these needles.

I called the nurse this morning and she said not to worry..but sometimes it's hard when you get a colour other than white from down there. Anyway am going for a HCG jab/ progesterone blood test on Wed so I will check with the doctor. If I can't stand till then, I will email the doctor...

I am testing on 15 DPET, next Friday. My last HCG jab is 9 DPET so need to let the HCG effect wash out first. Was thinking of using a HPT on Thurs...By the way, did you do a D2 or D3 transfer?

So far not much symptoms too...some bloatedness (not unbearable), lots of gas and a bit of tenderness at the breasts (but not as much as the stimulation stage).

Oh, when u place order from a US site, u just state ur vpost number n the Oregon vpost office address as ur shipping address. Then u notify vpost via email to look out for ur order. Once vpost receives ur pkg in oregon, they'll match to ur email, then ask u to pay for the shipping chgs to S'pore. Just need to compare, cos some US sites do ship to S'pore and may be cheaper than vpost.

I have just graduatedhope to spread more +ve news over here. Been reading this thread since 6 mths ago when I embarked on my 1st IVF in Apr, Petals and Hopes you are in my batch! Failure at the fresh cycle and now getting a positive with this FET is simply unbelievablePetals, congrats on yr twins pregnancy and Hopes you are a great comeback kid, I am sure you will struck again in your next try.

I also did the acu at Dr Zou, she is great as I believe her acupuncture skills helped me to conceive and seeing a +ve sign the 1st time in my lifewas beyond words to describe. I pray a lot to Kwan Kin this time, pleading her to bless us with children and also talking to embies, motivating them. TCM believe the more you concentrate on the area (womb), the Chi will flow to there and with Chi, there is life..So guys please hang on there and dun give up cheering on yr mind and embies till the end of the 2WW.

Looking forward to sharing with u guys our IVF journeyno one understands but we all do!!

Hello everyone. i am new to the thread. I had been trying to conceive my 2nd child for the past 6 months. My first child was conceived via IUI. I tried IUI twice but failed. Just did super IUI few days back. If fail, I will contemplate IVF. My hubby lost faith of my current gynae. Any good gynae u guys seeing that have good results? thanks!

Lin Tan, i did a D3 transfer did not have any HCG post ET. What is the purpose of having this HCG jab? A sister posted before that if you want to do a HPT, it says "Wait 14 days after a 10,000 IU injection, 10 days after a 5,000 IU injection, or 7 days after a 2,500 IU injection."

Wow, you're very lucky to have one kid via IUI...cos I think the success rate for IUI is lower than IVF, rite? The success rate at KKIVF is quite high. You can check out their website for more details. A few of us are under Dr SF Loh.

My current gynae asked me to go for IVF if not successful. BUt his charges is S$12K. And I heard his embroylogist not very good. Dr SF Loh is at KK hospital?

Wow SO-IUI worked for you. That;s great. That means you can implant and carry through 9mnths. I think your IVF will succeed. Hopefully this lasy IUI will work & you wont need it. Yah, Dr Loh is in KKH. Some ladies here are with KK, some with NUH and SGH. Also one in Raffles Hospital under Dr Sheila Loh, who was Head of KK IVF before she left for raffles. Hope that helps. Where did you do your IUI? $12K for IVF right, not IUI ?

What babydust said was right.. if SO-IUI works IVF won't be a problem.. Most of our sistas greatest concern is implantation and 1st trimester. For some, it's really stressful and some very painful.. but all in all, most graduated and I salute to them... So don't worry... you can make it.

Fyi, ivf at kkh is cheaper than private, and costs abt $6k-8k, depending on ur puregon dosage.

Hihi! Thanks! How r u? So u going for fet soon. Some fet include meds, but some just scan until ovu occurs. Did u check with kkh on how urs will be? Also, compared to fresh cycle, ur fet will be more comfy n painless, cos nojabs or ER, n lesser chance of ohss.

I think they will still go ahead w ur baseline v-scan even if u have AF. Hee, u can call the nurse to confirm. Abt vpost, i think there's a step-by-step flowchart when u log in. Good idea to start with something cheap, but make sure the sites r trustworthy.
