IVF/ICSI Support Group

Find myself like putting on weight ard my stomach area. But weight myself is the same. Only 6 days since my ET, felt so restless at home nothing to do. Eat, sleep and walk ard the hse. What other thing can we do during our 2ww? Counting my days to go back kk for my jab. (^_^)
 


Piglet, I actually borrowed some Korean dramas from my Sis and some books from nlb to keep myself occupied. Shd have watched comedy instead cos I was crying so badly that i felt cramps in tummy when the lead actress died in the show.
 
I just popped by KKIVF during lunch, managed to speak to the embryologist. he told me the cytoplasm of my eggs were not clear when they were picked up, indicating poor quality.

Also managed to get copies of all my test results, foc. Wanted to show them to the TCM dr...

For those of you planning to see TCM, and the TCM dr is trained to read these results, u can ask kkivf for copies. It should be FOC. No need to go through MRO (medical record office) which charges.

Piglet02 - I watched 2 korean drama during my 2ww. Enough to keep me glued to the TV. I know it is really tough to stay home, especially if you are alone. I stayed at my mum's house for a couple of days. At least I have mummy to accompany me during the day.. and of course, my lovely doggie :p
 
I actually stay at my mum place but don't tell her anything. My 3yrs nephew also here daily after his school. Most of the time is his time for his Disney network. Maybe Thursday drop by nlb after my jab. Having lot of craving. Heehee.
 
Hi joynfaith, my scan is this Friday (30th) coz I think my af reported earlier than urs. Hopefully the embbies will survive :eek:
I visited this tcm recommended by dr loh yesterday (at upp cross st) n I hv to start drinkIng the yucky medicine tonight..N every night..said it's to improve the linIng or something.. R u on any Chinese med? I wish both of us lotsa luck for this cycle!

I have a full month baby celebration this wkend. Hubby ask me not to go. But is a close cousin of mine. Hubby said during this 2 wk guaiguai stay home. Don't attend any of this celebration. How?

Jaded, let's pray together for our snowbabies to survive thaw. Weird... usually Dr Loh don't suport TCM medicine to be taken together with western medicine during IVF procedure. I'm doing acupuncture twice a week and taking medicine every morning and night currently. Last week the medicine was for no back flow during menses. After that is to strength ovary. Will be starting the lining medicine soon. Do you need to eat TCM medicine after ET? And do you plan to drink it?
 
Hi JoynFaith, are u gng for FET? may I know what type of medicine u taking now? I feel that I'mnot doing much for my coming FET. I'm gng for accu this Sat, n currently taking folic acid, ginseng n honey. Is this enough?

Thanks for info, you are a vegetarian. Dont mind me checking with you some info. Recently my friend went through successful ivf told me that i shouldnt take soya product. I should stop taking soya product 6 mths before the procedure which makes me very worry as the egg shell will be hard for injection. I wasnt vegetarian but have been ordering vegetatian tingkat few mths back, did u taking any soya product and encounter problem on the egg.

Marble, wow, what is cytoplasm? I think i have quality issues too. But what else can we do except keep trying till we get to 'the' one. I believe as long as we dont give up, sure can one someday.

Pierced, seems like KK nowadays more 'onz' in saving embryos. I remember last time hardly hear they will observe embryos. But now they are willing to spend more efforts and time to help patients maximise embryos. Thats good!
 
Piglet, i have been telling myself to live this 2ww rest to the fullest and do things i normally havent been able to when working, like catch up on studies (i studying japanese language) and do some craft works (prepare gifts for xmas) but i ended up lazing on the bed so often! Tuesday already and i still havent got anything done! Sigh~

I also alot cravings, dont feel preggy at all, even eat snacks and tidbits!
 
Hi heartbeats maybe we take so gd care of ourselves till a lot of food. We dare not take. Haha. I also don't feel preggy. Maybe is the side effect of my jab. That I having this pulling feeling on n off. Planning to go for a short trip after this week.
 
Hi guys,
I am v depressed.Been crying many times. I actively ttc for almost 1 yr but no gd news. Got 1 false alarm but after tat my cycle goes haywire, gets later n later.
I got do basic pre marriage help check up like blood test but all is ok. Wat should I proceed? Go kk hospital for a thorough check? Or take tcm?
I feel like giving up and die.

Piglet, me still having crampy feeling too but duno coz of the ER coz the pain from then haven't go off. Maybe can call and ask the clinic to see if it's normal. tmr is my second jab.

I spending my time also watching korean dramas, quite bored too but end up lazing on the bed and walking ard the house only.

Heartbeat, really? I didn't know that since first time IVF and just listen and nod head. haha!

Medieval, what happen? Hush hush gal, all is not over yet. You have not yet done detailed check right? And even if found any fertility issues, now science is so advanced, there is definitely help for all of us. The most important is you do not get too depressed or be swallowed by your depression cos if you are so affected, how to be properly tuned in body and in spirits to receive a new life. You need to chin up and have courage to take constructive steps ok?

If you dont know what to do, yes, can go to KK and check all the basics like whether you are ovulating, whether got block tubes, whether womb ok ... can test ovarian reserve too and ask hb to also do semen analysis. Then decide from there whether try naturally again, try clomid, try IUI or even jump straight to IVF. There are definitely options. Cheer up gal.

TCM definitely good to start irregardless of fertility treatments, not just for fertiity but for overall health. Just be sure to stop once you start once you start fertility drugs.
 
i just had my BT done this morning and waiting for news this afternoon but actually i am prepared already. pregnancy stick says negative last night and so tzun tzun, saw blood an hour after my bood test this morning. it's over. no frozen eggs also from this 1st fresh cycle of mine. this means i have to start over again.

already cried the whole of last night. i feel that i failed myself and my hubby. i know i have to be strong and try again. this is probably the hardest thing i have to do in my entire life - trying to have babies! i feel so tested in every way.

in any case, i plan to do the things i could not do for the last month this weekend - eat sashimi and have some red wine! will try to cheer up. thanks everyone for great advice and support during this tough period.

sorry no baby dust everyone. hope the others have good news.
 
Medieval - I agree with hearbeats. Go KK for a checkup. There are detailed scans to show if you have blocked tubes and also semen analysis for hubby. All sisters here have tried many years to have a baby. Don't give up ok? For myself, I have tried clomid, 2 failed IUI and I'm doing IVF now. After 3+ years of trying, there was at last a good years. I was informed that I am preggie yesterday.

Blessing - Give you a big hug. Be strong and take a break, go for a short trip. Let your body relax

Stay positive! I think everyone here knows how u feel. We've been tru the same thing before and many more here have definitely gone tru much more. Like what heartbeats suggested, look for a fertility dr and seek consultation. Go for necessary tests and try clomid first. Have quite a number of friends tried clomid and conceived. Options are many as long as u give it a try. It's definitely not the end of the world.

Hi joynfaith, U mean u r taking Chinese medicine every morning n night now? Actually I should put it this way, dr loh only provided us with the contact of the tcm dr because we said we want to seek tcm treatment n wanted his opinion..

Hi ladies, I have been warded to A&E yesterday for excessive blood lost.. My hub totally freaked out cos I was literally sitting on the shower area unable to get up. Even at A&E, I was an emergency case cos blood pressure fell dangerously low and doc scheduled an emergency op to stop the bleeding. I had a positive beta but doc suspect pregnancy is too invasive on my body. Such an experience made me really think twice about how much toll this has taken on my body.. Sad to know that I had a successful implantation but just not meant to be. Ladies please try to nourish your body as much as possible to handle this journey and may God be with you all always. Xxx
 
Hi enigmaysl, you mean you are bfp, after the heavy bleeding still bfp?

When I was carrying my son, I too has massive bleeding till my bed is stained badly. Any reason for bleeding?
 
Hi Pinpanter: I think my massive bleeding + blood clot is about 2 litres (not joking) as I was bleeding from 5-10pm yesterday. Doc was shocked and dunno what's wrong. Before 5, my beta came out to show signs of early pregnancy and doc was hoping maybe despite bleeding, there is a chance to double. However looking @ the situation in the night, he is most certain pregnancy is gone and schedule for d/c to stop bleeding. Blood transfusion was on standby and until after the op, he still could not detect the source of massive bleeding. I really tot I was in danger for bp fell to only 50+ on the high end... Turned green according to my husband cos of dehydration. Thank God I pulled thru and I will not consider immediate FET without prepping my body up. Never tot conception is life-threatening until I personally went through it. Suddenly realised mothers are indeed self sacrificing and never to be taken granted for. Doc felt it was a pity cos my IVF journey was going so well.. 17 fertilised 16 and 8 made to blastocysts with 2 transfered. Well I think God has a plan to let me experience this. Won't give up my dream to become a mother but I appreciate my family much more after this episode..
 
Hi Enig, pls rest loads & not think too much. I'm really shocked abt wat happened to you. Even my hubby is, we reading ur post tog now. We sincerely wish u well. Rest loads, tiao ur body first. Prof saw u already? Do not move ard too much. CRIB if possible.

I was extreme shock too u were having massive blood loss , almost near to hypovolemic shock. Thank god u ok now. Pls "bu" ur body after tis episode, do a mini confinement for urself for at least a month. Take care

Thanks sisters for all your concern... I am still waiting for another round of blood test. Prof is really a very very experienced doctor.. I just found out that he decided to not proceed with d/c after finding that my bleeding stops after clearing of massive blood clots. He came within 10mins after my admission to A&E..I feel very blessed to be in good hands and with all you sisters sending your best. Jia you everyone ok!!! My prayers are with you and I wish at least one bouncy baby (if not more) for each and every brave souls out here

Enig! I m so shocked! Glad that you are ok now. Thank God for sending all the guardian angels in nick of time!

Are you on iron pills now to restore blood? Dont forget to take ok? Eat foods rich in iron too like liver pieces and black chicken soup after you are discharged. Called your TCM dr yet? See whether got any other remedies to help you recover and restore the womb also.

Ya, dont hurry into FET, take time to recover then try. The womb must get strong first. Take care, treat next 2 weeks as mini confinement.
 
BBB, i could resonate so much to you! Believe all sisters here too. And you are so brave, i salute you! Yes, go enjoy all the foods and things you have been witholding all these while. Its time to really pamper yourself, you deserve a great pat and hug for braving this journey thus far! Nvm this time dont suceed, next time sure can one, we will all wait for your baby dust! i think you shld wait for the next BT's results.. when i conceived my boy the first FET , i had lots of bleeding too..blood gushing out when im peeing..the entire toilet bowl was red..that was ard week5 after i've done my BT a few days later. i broked down at that moment, i was in total blank..i knew its gone..but when i go to kkh for scan, my sac was still there.. dr couldnt explain this and told me the blood could be due to the wash-out of other embbies that couldnt implant..

dont give up first, miracle may happen..good luck..

Piglet, we are at DPT7, implantation begins today if embryos still "ok" in there! I m getting nervous already. Yesterday was so down dont know why no confidence. But i will still try to be positive, hope for the best but prepared for the worst and spend this 2ww fulfilling so that i wont feel too sad later on. Today went out of house finally, go buy beehoon for breakfast and coffee too! See? I am really hopeless, keep giving in to my cravings. Hopefully only 1 cup is still ok! And i am re-watching TVB's Beyond Realm of Conscience again, hehe, nice show! And also researching on short holidays. I must go on trip if this cycle fails, i must go shopping, haha Thats how i regain sanity, haha

Enig, please take case Bp low is very dangerous. Yes you are right conception dies put mom in danger. I also die from infection. In normal, will recover well by when u are pregnant it can be life threatening. So please take care.

Please update us on ur status. Keep you in prayer.

Linda: thanks don't have high hope though. How abt you? Planning to take bt earlier? I intend to do my bt on Friday and coming mOnday if bfp.
