Baby making, dun stress over all these posting. Fetal pole is usually visible via V at 6 weeks. Only when fetal pole is detected than can see heart beat. But is not uncommon for fetal pole not to be visible at 6 wks. Some MTb only saw it at 8 wks. dun worry abt it now ok.

yes i agree with hazel, I was able to see cos during the time i was hospitalised, the doc was worried so sent me for the scan, i think they called it AMC which they have this very huge screen which is able to zoom in many times better than the normal ultra sound machine they have at their clinic.

good morning!
jux started my first shot of Gonal F today, after my menses came on sunday.
was so pissed with the nurse! she was an hour late (in france, the nurses come to your house for injection). then she misread the dossage prescribed by the gynae, instead of 37,5iu, she turn the pen to dosage maximum of 300iu! Lucky i saw and question her! Then she have problem turning the dosage back to 37,5iu and in the course of it, some medicine leaked out from the pen! Lucky my DH saw! So she is supposed to go back to the pharmacy and "ask" for more medicine for me! Hope tomorow's injection wld be smooth!
Wld like to ask you girls abt the Do's and Don'ts during 2WW.
Coz i remembered by first IVF, my gynae said just live my normal everyday life. But this time is different, as I have an active toddler of 18mths.

I hope to get some advice/feedback from fellow IVF Sisters here on my dilemma.
I had failed my 1st fresh and FET last year. I was under Prof at NUH. After my first fresh I learnt I have developed a small endometriotic cyst by my SGH gynae. I had laparoscopy to remove before my FET but FET was not successful.
Now I am planning for my 2nd fresh. I am considering doing with either NUH (Prof) or O&G Partners (Dr L C Foong or Prof SC Ng). However I am very confused. I read about the positive comments and successes and the lab does assisted hatching for those with Dr LC Foong and am so tempted...
My reason for considering NUH was I hope they now know better what dose to give to generate best outcome. In my fresh and FET, Prof told me the embryos put in (2each) were good. FET was blastocysts . I really dunno what caused the failure. I need to decide soon to make appointment as my menses will be here these few days.
Please give me your advice. Thanks!

Tomo I will be attending the IVF briefing at KKH... what should I look out for? And what question should I ask them?
Btw, I went to Dr Zou to "tiao" my body. And happens that day I was ovulating and she prescribe me med for lining... I have finish my med... am wait for somthing miracle to happen.

Arghs, have a spate of equipment failure. Laptop crash, iPhone dunked in milk by my boy. Just replaced iPhone this afternoon.
Nausea n vomitting gone. Now got no symptoms except tiredness. I worry since fetal pole not seen. The way I calculate. Monday is already wk5d4, by right can see fetal pole. Nothing I can do abt it now - drowning in Korean drama and blanking everything out till next wed.

e ivf briefing is done by e nurse. she wil tell u n ur hubby e detailed procedures of ivf, e $$$ u need to pay upfront, how much e govt grant n wat amt wil cme fm ur medisave, so u dun hv to worri abt anything. n if at any stages u nt clear, u k ask her to repeat again.
u going to sign e form tomoro too? if yes, e nurse wil bring u n ur hubby to a rm w other couples to hear n see e ivf presentation by e doc. e presentation include success rate, side effect etc. if u stil hv any qns, k ask e doc too. =)

wow su, kkh ivf has upgraded - few years back, no such thing as presentation. it was a sketchy go through by a nurse using a flow chart on a piece of paper.

hmm ok, but is matthew lau any good with bedside manner? ok, this is a bit premature planning...but i want to enjoy this pregnancy..so hoping to get a more sympathetic and not so busy (hopefully) better bed side manner gynae...have shortlisted either tan HH or matthew lau - anyone has any comments about either gynae?

Babymaking, I dunno abt Matthew lau. But I will pick dr tan hh if u ask me. He is a consultant n has good bed side manner. But he dun hv tps clinic. I saw him at clinIc D a few times when dr Loh was away. He is gd looking too!

Dating scan is based on the growth of the fetus. Some grow faster some grow slower. It will change every scan but the EDD wun change. Ivf patients hv very accurate EDD. Dr Loh will let us know the EDD on the blue booklet when we are issued one at 8/9 weeks. The EDD based on every dating scan will change depending on growth of fetus. But dr loh's EDD will not change. The edd based on the dating scan will then be measured against the real edd to see if fetus is on lower end, average or high end of growth.
Eg, a 1 yr old child, has a range in weights too. Some r under weight, some are average and etc.

Like wat I said, the scan is a dating scan, based on growth to arrive at the no if wks u r preg, U hv a boy right? U need to bring him for injections n check up right? Every time his growth is charted to other kids of the same age as him right? It's the same principle.

Actually I dunno u AMC dun do V scan immediately. In most instances, most mtbs hv to do V scan. Wat's the probability of multiples? Low and all of us transferred at least 2 embyros. So if the probability of striking multiples is low, abdomen scan can only see one at most. Then they hv to do V scan to confirm only one fetus since transferred >1 n to rule out etopic as v scan is much clearer.
Some times abdomen scan can't see fetus or Heartbeat but V scan can see. It freaks patient out while preparing for V scan. Only when they see the same no of fetus as the no of embyros transferred via Tummy scan then no V scan.

Daintreez - Thank you for your well wishes! I am quite down this week as my son is down with a viral fever and the temperature escalated to 39.8 today at one point even with medication and sponging. I have been quite tired and worried and praying hard for both my boy and the little bean in me to be safe and protected. Still monitoring him throughout the night. Glad my hubby returned this afternoon. At least got more moral support. You and all the rest of the sisters take good care. I will update!
TO add to my misery, I started having terrible rashes on my buttock, inner thighs, joints, lower back on my body last night. Patchy and slightly raised. Itchy. I had to shower in the middle of the night cos cannot take the itch. BUt in the morning and day, its all gone. It came back this evening. Dunno if it is 'Feng Mo' in chinese.

Mabel, 'big big hugz' am glad your hubby is back... can imagine yourself braving thru the week... 'hugz' i think those rashes are 'feng mo' sometimes its also associated to mood, maybe u r too stressed out too my dear...
Did you alternate paracentamol and Ibrufen for your boy every 3 hourly? IT helps alot when temp hit above 38.5... is he better now? U have to up your Vit C intake now too ok, can't be infected with viral fever at this point if u can, i know its tough, i used to fall sick everytime my son recovers.. and can be sick even longer than my son... but try to take care for little bb in u too ok...
Will pray that your darling recover soon and today's scan results be GOOD.... hugz...

Do see a dr or maybe during your next visit to NUH update them.
That was what I did. At first, the nurse thought i maybe allergic to the jab but it may not be possible too as i had the jab for many times and then the rashes appeared. So, my rashes were not due to any jab.
