IVF/ICSI Support Group

queenie, er will depend on ur response to lucrin and gonal f. For myself, i started lucrin on 4 nov and er on 30 nov. After 14 days of lucrin u will go for scan and bt to see if u can stage 2. Stage 2, gonal f stage can range from 7 to 14 days depending on ur response.
Good luck!

hi syann,

if i remember correctly, it may take a while before can see sac. Even if sac is present, it may also take some weeks before can hear the heart beat. Try not to stress yourself. if it is meant for us, it wil be. Good luck and all the best.

Syann, KKH is right. Pregnyl jab takes 7 days to clear.. If u check the website it will tell u for some it can take even longer...

I was on pregnyl jabs previously. I did not bother to do hpt coz I know it can give false positive. I just wait patiently for bt to confirm

good luck!

Only at 5 wks then it may be possible to see a small empty pregnancy sac. At 6 wks then a yolk sac can be seen n sometimes a heartbeat is visible.

So the doc can't see anything at all even if he does a vaginal scan.. N can't confirm anything.

All these information can be found at the website. Just wait for the bt when it is due coz no point doing hpt if u r on pregnyl jabs as it is not accurate at all n can give false positive

Can anyone advise whether puregon is suppose to inject 3-4 fingers beside belly button or below? Also can take multi-vitamins? this is my first so-iui with kkhivf and I am very nervous...

Hi Mina,

I do not know about puregon jabs yets as I am still with Lucrin. So far I only jab it as you say 3-4 fingers beside belly button.

Vitamins well I have been taking a normal women's multivitamin for couple of months now.

Rabbit.. Never give up, never surrender

I think you girls are right. I will wait for the BT on wed & pray for good result.

Happy New Year to all. Let us recoup back all the Ang Bao next year.

You gals will have your BFPs very soon! Jia you!

Hi all,

I intend to go for FET soon but not sure if i made the right choice.
I did my 1st IVF last year but was unsuccessful.
I had 3 more embryos left, not sure if they will survive thawing.
I'm very confused..
Should i start a fresh cycle?
Anybody ever been in my position?
I'm with Dr S F Loh in KKIVF.

Brownie,

why dun u use up yr frozen embies for FET? I did Natural FET with 2 frozen embies. Now 22 weeks preggy with twins
happy.gif

my doc is also Dr Loh @ KKH

Hi Singapoh,

Congratulations with the twins...

Thanks for the reply... I really need it..
It kinda give me hope..
My appt is tommorow with Dr S F Loh..
I'm not sure what to ask him..
Did he tell you what is the grade of your embies?
How can i tell him that i want to do Natural FET?
My mense is so regular.. Its 1st day today..

Thanks Brownie,

Dr Loh will decide whether you are suitable for Natural or Medicated FET. He told me that my lining was good and my period was regular so I went for Natural FET. I have no idea what is my lining measurement.

I didn't know the grading of my embies until I saw him during my 8 weeks scan after BFP. Mine was grade 2 and 5 (5 is the best)

Good luck!

Brownie,

I am a SAHM (stay at home mum). I conceived my 1st baby from fresh IVF cycle. My son is 29 months old now.

Dun think u wanna follow my footsteps in 2ww. After ET, I went home, did housework. Throughout the 2ww, I had cold drinks, chili padi, tea and played step aerobics with my wiifit. My expectation was very low so I was really relax. I didn't eat anything special, just a balance diet.

Dear Singapoh,

you are so lucky..
I did what you did during my 1st IVF cycle but it was unsuccessful..
I wonder if i stay in bed this time, will it be fine..

Ahh... sigh... I just cant wait for the FET...

Brownie,

I was more careful for my fresh IVF cycle.

Ask Dr Loh if u can do FET for this cycle. Full bleeding is consider the 1st day. Scanning will start from Day 10. That's for natural FET.

Singapoh,

I very sad this New Year. Before eve I got the bad news. I did not make it for my FET. My first fresh was a success and end up MC at week 12. Total 3 operations, rested a year and now still BFN for my FET.

Hi all, hoping to get some opinions from you: If cost if not a factor, should I go with private (Prof Ng from Glen E) or public (SF Loh with KKIVF)? Have met with both doctors, comfortable with both, but pondering over private vs. general practice pros and cons, including lab standards, trainee healthcare professionals etc.

Sure appreciate your insights...

Hi,

I just had my ET on Sat. Now still feeling very bloated, lots of gas too. Slight lower abdomen pain too and it will always feel cold whenever the pain worsen . Not sure if that's normal.

tang tang,

don be sad.. take a break 1st..

Ice,

Not sure if its d norm but I don feel bloated at all.. Im not sure if every1 will have symptoms during d 2ww.. try to drink more warm water or boil dried longans w red dates (mayb can add some ginger). don eat any raw or spicy food also..

Furryfurry....

I think Prof Ng is a better bet cos the service in private MUST BE better....

if cost is not a factor..... why not try out the heavy weight in private like..Angela ( CARE at paragon)or even dr Suresh....or Dr Foong

I am not saying Prof Ng is no good .... by go to somebody with very high success rate lah

Furryfurry, if cost is not a factor of course go for private... coz they can give u more attention.. definitely more then kk can give...

Furryfurry,
I have tried both Prog Ng at GlenE and PC wong at Nuh. I would say both services are comparable and they have similar protocol. But I am only paying like a quarter of the cost in NUH compared to GlenE.
But of course, for private, timing will be more flexible and you can speak directly to your gynae anytime.

I bfp for both cycles but unfortunately my 1st try in GlenE ended up with miscarriage.
The FET was a total failure and thus I switched to NUH becos the cost of FET is comparable to a fresh cycle in NUH.

Morning ladies, thanks for the input. Appreciate your sharing and honestly, still no closer to making a decision.

Wondering if anyone kept track of success rates of various options on this thread?

Hi Furryfurry,
My experience is that most doctors will generally say that their success rate is 30-35%. Given the limited number of people in the thread, it might not be a good enough sample number.

I suppose this is your first try? Most important is that both you and your DH are comfortable with the doctors. I am with pte due to the preference for more personalised care and flexible schedules. The ivf journey is very difficult and emotionally stressful. If money is not an issue, then go for pte with better care and support, this will ease some of the stress during the process.

Furryfurry, like what the sisters here say, if cost if not an issue, going to private could have better support from ther gynae. I can't advise what is the private service like for IVF as I did mine in KKVF under Dr Loh.

In KKIVF, you only see your own gynae 3 time throughout the whole IVF cycle, i.e. during the first consultation, ER and ET. The rest would be through the nurses and other more junior doc ( not Dr Loh). E.g. you did your blood test at KKIVF, the nurse will call you abt the result but you don't get the print out copy of the result unlike when I was in TMC, nurse will call you to inform you the results and at the same time sent you by mail the blood test results with the doc's signature and written words saying it is normal. So you are assured the gynea has reviewed the results. Of course if you have any queries or concern you can email Dr Loh anytime, and he may answer your email if it is an impt issue. So if you are ok with not seeing your own gynae so often through out the whole IVF process, you can choose KK as it is cheaper in cost. I spent around $8500 for my fresh cycle and there is a $3000 govt grant.
The most impt is that you are comfortable with the doc and how the IVF cycle would be carried out.

Happy Tiger Year, Singapoh!

My FET cycle will start with my next menses. Not sure when will be the ET as mine is medicated.

Hi Ladies
May the year of the Tiger gives...

*those in 2ww, a BFP after the long wait
*those already BFP, a smooth pregnancy ahead
*those yet to start the ivf journey, strength to start
*those in the midst of the journey, good luck at all the stages.

LAstly, to all ladies in this forum. To stay positive and dun give up !!!! Baby dust to all...

Thanks Nancy, very sweet of you
happy.gif

May Heaven bless us all with good response to stimmulation, good quality eggs and embryos, good lining, good luteal phase support and perfect implantation and strong and healthy BFPs!!!
happy.gif

Ice, bloating is normal after ET, especially if you are on pregnyl jabs. Some ladies more sensitive to hormones so will bloat easily while others less bloated. Abdominal pains maybe ovaries recovering from stimmulation or from hormone supplements.

Hi Brownie, just read your earlier post. Go for the FET if you still have embbies.
I would be doing my FET with Dr Loh at KKIVF. Seen him in early Jan after my failed fresh cycle. He mentioned I can do FET using my Feb menses.
When are you doing your FET? Using your next menses?
My FET wld be medicated.

Medicated FET would be for pple whose menses cycle or ovulation not regular.
You will be given progynova to take. I have also asked for baby aspirin from Dr Loh as I heard it helps to increase blood circulation and thus build up the lining. (the medicine are now sitting comfortably in my fridge as I bought them in Jan after Dr Loh gives the go ahead)
I understand that for medicated FET, ovulation not impt but u will be scanned to ensure u reach the minimum 8mm lining before going for the ET.

Hi furryfurry

I was also undecided on whether to go with PTE / Govt. But cost to me is a big factor cos if I were to go with PTE I only could go for 1 round only.

Talking abt (based on est & deduction of govt grants etc) 1K vs 12K ....

Therefore even though I consulted with Dr. LC cheng from TFC (Thomson Fertility Ctr) & found that he is very patient & throug. The cost issue is too much for me to consider TFC.

Dr SF Loh also has his good points but he is super busy & hv to factor that into yr decision making.

Hence I am going to go with KKIVF 1st then see how from there. I planning to do SO-IUI 1st before going onto IVF (if needed)...

So kan cheong today ... Fed-ex updated that got delay at customs then after a hectic morning of calls & checks my donor sperms are cleared & ready to be send to KKH hopefully before 4pm.
