May i ask how Dr Cheng came to prescribe IVF for you? e.g. was it male/female factors etc, and did u try other treatments b4 IVF?

today i am going for my progestrone test..anyone knows what test is that? i will be going for my BT on 4 dec 2009. hope my BT is positive.

It's my 1st IVF and my dosage is 150iu. If you are scared of d jabs, can your hb help you with it? Today is the 1st time I'm doing it myself coz it seems easy to do, I hope I'm doing it right.. But I think there is another jab the nurse will have to do it for us..

Dr Cheng monitor the cycle plus hb will need to do the sperm test. From there, he will advise what to do.. IVF did not cross my mind coz we planned to do IUI but hb's sperm is a factor (mine mainly is male factor). Dr Cheng said that IVF is a better option for us coz for iui, d lab will have to wash d sperms. Are you still choosing where to go for the procedure or thinking IUI or IVF?

I think if the gonalF gets in it should be the right way. 150iu tats very gd (save $ plus not so painful). May i noe how old are u and wats ur FSH reading? I ask dh to jab for me but he says he will have a hard time. He says he rather sent me to TMC everyday. Wat i heard from Dr Chia is the daily jabs and HCG jab we can do it by ourself. If not we can go back TMC or the 24hrs TMC to do HCG jab.

Mine is the same as Skies, 1st time doing IVF and male factor(dh sperm low count). Actually Dr Cheng wanted as to try on our own as he says tat we might just strike lottery and looking at my age he feels it is ok(still young). I took a few months to try (went holiday) plus drag time. Finally i decide not to waste time anymore. I think Dr Cheng did say low sperm can't do iui. He also suggest if i wanted donor sperm then i could do iui which is much cheaper. I think Dr Cheng might not wan to do ivf for everyone unless he thinks it is necessary. I remember i read once in this forum someone wanted to do ivf but Dr Cheng wanted them to try one their own too.

Are you going for FET? Mine was a Natural Thawed cycle. Without any injections.
Day 1 Full Bleeding. Called KKH to book a scan.
Day 10 Scan (egg size 14mm and ovulation kit -)
Day 12 Scan (egg size 16mm and ovulation kit +)
Day 15 ET
Given progestrone to insert for the next 17 days.

i juz did my hormone blood test. the nurse ask mi whether i feel bloated and i reply no. she seem to be surprised by my answer. i ask her is it better to feel bloated and she says that being bloated the chance is higher to be preg. haiz...she makes mi feel my chance of getting preg is now slimer..

Me and dh are 32 i consider old but Dr Cheng think other wise. My fsh is around 9. something during may and recent BT. U could check ur fsh reading at the laboratory reports given to u. Quite worry abt the fsh thing but doc and nurse say it ok...??? Did u ask them to estimate the bill size for this ivf? Dr told me it will be roughly $12K~$13K inclusive of 6K medisave. U doing conventional ivf or ivf with icsi? I be doing ivf with icsi.

mummy wannabe: but i think as asians to even suggest donor sperm is abit hmm like wrong. i mean not like ur dh have azoospermia (no sperm!!) i think i would be offended if my gynae said that to me! i mean i do have other options b4 donor sperm what..
my dh ate vit c vit e, tribestan, mega men.. a few mths before ivf i think that helped alot..we both also went for TCM.. once every week. for accupuncture n pills for dh and me.. dr tan from clementi, he's very popular..
cos in ivf they select the best sperm so u dun need the usual 40 mil for normal conception..

im doing Medicated Thaw cycle.
you dont need to ovulate once you took progynova, starting Day4 of your menses. You will scan around D12 to check for lining. Continue to scan until lining hit 8mm, you will schedule transfer 3 days later. They will thaw your embryos the night before. After that, you are given inserts for 17days.

Gd to hear tat it works for ur dh. How long did ur dh took the vitamins to c improvements? Just pure vitamin E? Are the improvement great? Doc did ask him to take multi vitamins(consist of vit E & C, zinc, Beta-Carotene and Selenium). Doc says all these take time. Dh did not complete all, the reason he gave is he is eating chinese medicine for low sperm. I will ask him to continue eating the vitamins. During these 6 months, 3 testing all low count. Time is running out so i need to proceed with ivf while he continue with the supplements.

Tangtang, I'm so sorry but I have forgotten on the number of days that I took to complete each stage. That was my 1st IVF attempt. Roughly:
Day 1 - Full Bleeding. Call KKH to book
Was it Day 17/21?? - Start Lucrin
2 weeks later - start puregon, continue Lucrin
10 days later - ER
2 days later - ET
10 days later - 1st pregnancy BT (coz ks, got spotting lar)
7 days later - the concluded pregnancy BT
I hope it helps...my memory was already failing me before i got pregnant. Now, it's going to be worse with the pregnancy

He said yes I should have balance in family and work. he was surprised that i have been having injections for almost 1 month liao.
Rostrum good that u r taking leave. can relax abit. My gf actually asked me take 6 months no pay leave so that I can totally relax during the IVF process
