IUI/SO-IUI: Anyone?

mind to share more, which hospital you with? what injection u on? what's ur dosage?
 


Hi prospepina,

I'm not going for SOIUI. I'm just with gonal f (95iu) The dosasge is imbetween 75 and 112.5 because he is afraid that i over stimulate the eggs. Last year ard April, i went for a round of IUI but without success. I was on 75iu for a week and there wasnt any effect on the eggs! so up dosage to 112.5iu for 3 days and managed to have 3 eggs.

Been trying actively for 26 months already. and last dec i finally decided to go for a laparascopy where by doctor found that i have endometrosis.

So this is my 2nd cycle after laparascopy and i really hope i can get my bfp soon

my DD turns 4 this coming Oct. and i conceived her naturally without much effort.

I'm with Dr Chieng at Parkway East.
 
yeah i had the trigger shot earlier on this afternoon at the clinic.

I'm experiencing cramps now.. kinda like contractions hahah!

I went back to scan because i couldn't detect any surge.. so i was right. the eggs are not release yet and they have continue to grow bigger haha! so doc gave me trigger and we need to work hard this weekend haha!

many sisters BFP with no sign. i always think pregnancy is not sickness, we shouldn't feel so sick if we are pregnant. when is her BT?

To all the other sisters here, I used to be on this thread too and I'm now 5.5 months pregnant via ivf. Wish you ladies all the baby dusts and baby fortune in the new year!!!
 
Hi Baby Steps, i failed 3 iui but was lucky and BFP during 1st ivf cycle. All the best in your next cycle. Most important is to relax and don't stress. Let your doctor take care of the rest!
 
Hi Sara, I'm with Dr L C Foong at Gleneagles. He's very good and caring. Not a problem, I don't have PCOS or anything. We were just labeled as unexplained infertility. I passed every tests though my DH's sperm test is less than ideal but still good enough according to doctor. My age could be a factor. I only started ttc when I was 36. I'm turning 39 this year. So when I did iui, the success rate for me was around 15% whereas ivf success rate was 30-50%, so ivf was just better odds.
 
My BT is on 20dpiui too.. Got 10 more days to go...
But I already have feeling of af symptoms. No cramp, no bloat. Jus the feeling .. Bbt also not high. Not very hopeful..

Sara - I'm also waiting for my menses to start for IVF.. But my hubby going overseas end Feb so I'm hoping my menses don't come so soon on Feb.. Best is after 20th.. Else we will have to skip this cycle and do IVF in March.. Delay a month.. =(

I went for the IVF slide show yesterday.. I think it's overpriced seriously.. $200 for a 15 mins slideshow with info that is readily available on the Internet.. Aiyoh!

Shall try to hang on... I plan for ivf if this iui unsuccessful . May start in mar if doc allow..

Sparkles - Just one more day to BT! Sometimes hpt tests for some women don't go positive until quite late... There's still.hope!

Doubles - Yup its compulsory for kkivf.. Not sure if other hospitals have the same kind of presentation.. We will be signing some papers as well to show that we have attended and we have beeN given all info abt the procedures..

I din experience waiting time.. I'm due to start my next cycle.. Maybe some are required to take supplements before they start? Once my doc confirmed we are to do ivf, we are registered immediately at kkivf and booked for the presentation.. Plus all the info on what to do on my first day of menses...

Babysteps thanks for the info. For me also no waiting time. Doc say can book soon. Am intending to do in March. Doc said I don't have to inject lucrin as have already taken the 3 month jab. Ovulate retrieve and transfer. Only god knows if it's as easy as that. Jia you ladies. Am praying for all of you. Guess babysteps we mite be cycle buddies again 
 
Sparkles - I also wanted to go straight to IVF initially but dr told us to try so-iui first.. When we insisted, she said that we haven reached that point yet.. She will allow us to try IVF only after we tried SO-IUI once.. But some feel that IUI is less invasive so planning to try a few rounds then as a last resort IVF .. But since IVF success is highly dependent on age, i think the earlier we go for it (if we know we have a problem already) the better ba.. I'm coming 30 this year.. Mind if i ask ur age?

Sara - Yea maybe we'll be cycle buddies again! Dr told me since i have PCOS, i got higher risk of OHSS.. So my med will be lower dosage first at more scans to monitor required..

Sparkles - From the slides kkh showed , the success rate for women below 35 is roughly the same! So yes! We both got very good success rates! Hehe.. Dont worry, ur doc will know to lower ur dosage in the beginning then closely monitor ur reaction to it..

I also had femera, only got one embbie.. Before IUI, i did 6 cycles of clomid also no good news.. Cos hubby's soldiers got issues also.. I heard clomid causes lining to be thin.. Femera isbetter in this sense..

Anyway, u dont think so much first! Ur BT could be positive and no need to think abt IVF even.. =)

PCOS also just yield one egg with femara, i am low AMH patient le, then i may not yeild any..

Am with dr matthew lau at Kkh too. Going for uterus scan on 28 feb. Hubby soldiers test and hiv test on 4 mar. Seeing doc on 6 mar.
 
Doubles - I'm with Dr Sadhana @ KKH..

So all 4 of us will be doing IVF at KKH.. My chance to do IVF in Feb gone liao .. Cos I'm sure I'm ovulating now.. 14 days later my menses starts, means might clash with hubby going business trip.. Will cycle in March le.. I think all of us around same time..

Sparkles - I kept thinking abt ivf until I completely forgot can. Try natural! Haha.. I was ranting to my hubby we gotta wait another mth for ivf then he said, means can try naturally what! Then it hit me! Lolx...
 
Ladies, will u be telling ur boss u r going for ivf?
Coz heard will be given 14 days mc if do ivf.
I m not sure if I should take leave or mc..
 
Doubles - I already told my boss.. KKIVF will give u hospitalization leave up till 21 days from ER onwards.. I decided to tell my boss cos he's a family man so he would understand.. I think not all bosses are so understanding.. Some ladies just tell their bosses they are going for a minor surgery but will need to bed rest for 2 weeks..

Since its hospitalization leave and not the usual 14 days MC, just take HL, don't waste ur leave.. I think generally shld have 60 days HL right?
 
sara, depends on long or short protocol. if long CD21 start jab lucrin(stop ovulation), go back scan on next cycle CD2 continue stimulation+lucrin till CD10-14 then trigger shot then ER & ET. so my first fresh start puregon on CD8 till CD18 then trigger shot on CD18 ER on CD20 ER CD22 ET. Hospitalisation leave started frm the day ER.

if short be CD2 scan then start stimulation jab till CD10-14 then ER & ET.

My AF reported despite that i had 3 good follicles.
I kinda expected it because of BBT doesnt climb. - which i have no idea why is that so.
Have made appt for IVF and it's in April.
Meanwhile im trying to stop temping/charting etc and see if miracle happens. lol

I went to review today. Dr Lau said I have a cyst n need operation to remove it. So I can't start Ivf this mar. Probably apr or may till cyst is remove than can start. N I will be on long protocol.. Sigh..
 
Hi Doubles,

I'm waiting for my period to start.. Saw a spot of reddish brown blood earlier so AF should be here tomorrow.. The problem now is if I can go ahead with IVF this cycle cos hubby is away for 4 days - 27 Feb to 2 Mar. Dr told me to call in on my first day and get the nurse to help me count if it will clash.

Sorry to hear about your cyst but think about it this way, at least you know when you start IVF, u have no issues and it will be a high BFP success rate! =)

Hopefully I can proceed with ivf soon after cyst remove. Previously I was not keen for iui/ivf at all when dr suggest it. I drag for many months.. Now I can't wait to start ivf.. Haha..
 
Hi doubles am fine. I took Lupron and have my scan next week to see if it shrink and if uterine is clear for implantation. What type of cyst do u have and how big?? Is doc lau doing lap for u??

Hi all, after my failed attempt on iui, I have decided to proceed with Ivf. Just saw prof Wong PC in NUH yesterday. So far so good... Waiting for results review in early march : )

I see that some of the ladies r also gg to attempt Ivf. Is it ok to share my experience here though its for iui? :p
