IUI/SO-IUI: Anyone?


Thanks babysteps. Tested opk - so tmr no iui. Will be going back for scan tmr. Aiyo that dr on fri got me worry for nothing.. Was worry I may ovulate early..

Bubblyreddy: depend on individual. From what I read 16-18mm is mature and will ovulate from this size onward. Correct me if I m wrong, ladies...

Doubles - may I know why do you need to test opk before iui? Prof Wong didnt ask me to test, only ask me to trigger shot last night and do iui tomorrow morning. Cos i tot the doc will scan again before performing the procedure.

Baby dee how was the talk at Thomson. If not warded I would have gone as well. Am still admitted as pain became severe yest noon. Scan shows all ok. They suspect it endo n adeno causing bad cramps. So on painkillers. I
Will be taking Lupron and rubella jabs later. Lupron will put me to menopause state for 3 months shrinking cysts and drying endo n adeno. Hope this will help me.
 
Baby steps so that means it's 15k minus 6 k medisave minus 3 k grant we pay abt 6k is it at kk?? Just want to prepare myself financially as I have 3 months before ivf. Hubby soldiers also need 3 months to replenish as morph was low when I did iui. I will visit prof Wong for second

Twinklestar , not very sure leh. i think dr advise to test opk as a caution in case I ovulate before the iui can be perform? To catch the timing ba. Kkh no scan on the actual day of iui. I wonder y no scan on actual day... I want to see how's my eggs on that day leh.. Haha
 
Sara - i saw other ladies advise that for kkh, ivf costs around 10-12k.. so minus 6k from medisave and 3k grant it's between 1k-3k cash depending on individual...
 
Doubles there are no scan on iui day at Thomson too. I also feel bettter have scan on iui day as well as sperm test b4 iui.

Mrsyl, ur iui done by dr hhtan? My previous iui done by other dr on duty that day. I wonder y not done by my dr Matthew Lau. I was hoping to see him then it turn out to be some one else. so I tot is depend on which dr working on that day..
 
Doubles it's v difficult to see dr Matthew lau. Don't knw y. Even dr loh visited me in ward last time. Dr lau v difficult to reach. That's the prob at Kkh. Other hospitals we pay money the doctor there for us I feel.
 
Doubles - i didnt know we could ovulate before the trigger shot. now i start to worry. I dun have my periods every month So i hope i wont ovulate on my own. I will ask the doc to scan first cos i wanna know the actual size.This is my first iui n i am just going with the flow.

Can i ask if sisters experience bloating tummy n increase appetite while on puregon?i felt like my tummy is going to explode and my weight increase slightly for past one week
 
Mrsly - didnt hear from you for some time. We have come so far so lets Keep ourselves happy and relaxed for these two weeks. I intend to go for retail therapy to reward myself

You're doing at nuh? The doc will scan just before procedure to check for ovulation, by that time won't know the size cos shld have ovulated.. All the best!

Yah, The iui cost in kkh almost same as other private hospital n couldn't get our dr in charge to do iui wherea other hospital could. Hai what to do.. I didn't know until I m in the ship.. Some more still in the same ship 2nd time...

Twinklestar don't worry k.. I think opk jus a caution thing.. U should still be in right track.. The scanning u had is more accurate to predict when u will ovulate.
 
Min81- yes i am doing at nuh. If it ovulated,then isnt it too late cos the sperm may not be able to find the egg .i alway tot iui should be done after trigger shot and before ovulation.looks like my iui is to be performed 38hrs since i triggered yesterday 8pm

Actually it'll be good if just ovulated before iui procedure cos that's when your cervical mucus is increased and there to help the troops to swim up to the egg.. The troops should be swimming faster too after the 'wash' as the lower grade and slower sperm won't be obstructing their way.. The egg will be waiting in the fallopian tube.. Don't worry k

You mean for ivf right? I'm not sure of the details cos I can't remember all that was mentioned during the seminar.. But i remember there's definitely crinone gel, i think there are another 1 or 2 pill inserts on top of that..

I agree with prosepina, still early.. My 2nd iui, i remember my follicle was just 11mm at CD11..

Anyone got good idea what excuse to give boss? Coz I m going to take mc tmr. Then next few days may have to take again. Dun wana let him know I going thru iui. Any idea is appreciated. Haha.
 
double, is ur boss a family man? if so, i think be frank then save a lot of trouble. dont have to keep finding excuses.

min,actually i thought pregnyl injection as post ET support will be better. Many success! i dont like insert. Dont know prof wong will agree or not.

Hmm.. I told my superior about it last time and they were very understanding about it.. If you're not comfortable about it, maybe can just say you're going for a minor procedure.. If they don't probe further abt it, then i guess all's ok..

Ohh.. Maybe i'll ask him when i see him for day 2 scan and let you know, not sure if he'll agree.. But he did prescribe support for me readily when i requested it for my 2nd iui.. Do you know if the pregnyl jab can be done by gp?

IUI done! Just ovulated and lining is 12mm. I am given crinone gel as support and I dun know why I can feel like its leaking out haha. 2WW officially starts!
 
Double> i kept disappearing from work when i had to go for the scans at KKH.. so i just told my bachelor boss saying i had to go for medical chk up and would be taking some time off. he kept asking if im ok. i said i am. then when i finally did my IUI i said i had to go for a minor procedure. he asked am i ok.. thats abt it.. and when he asked me today how was it. i said i might have to go for more later.. just to preempt him first.

min> yes u can go to gp for all yr jabs, just rem yr dosage and tell the dr. or maybe aft all the stim jabs, yr dh may be able to do for u. i heard u just need to do yr self for another 3 times before bt.
 
Thanks ladies for sharing.. Ur has given me some light on what to tell my boss. My boss will not probe but he will get assistant mgr (lady) to probe. I dun want to tell him frank bcoz my office very small n there are loud speaker n radio dJ around. I don't want my matter to become their tea break entertainment.

doubles, then dont tell. my office also got loud speaker. i just told my boss and ask my boss keep it to herself. at the end she disclosed to my HR, then whole HR department knows.
 
Same here ladies. Office full of gossipers hunting for news. So I have not told anyone abt it. Just said tummy infection need time to recover. Got few Check ups. That's it. Ppl waiting To gloat over our agony man!!
 
Doubles,doctor got advise when ur DH should clear his old troops? if not, you might want to ask.

That time i did IVF in KK, doctor never tell one lo.
 
Dear ladies.... hope u all are doing good with IUI so far. Think i have to go straight to IVF treatment. How is professor Wong in NUH? I'll be transferring treatment location and looking for a good Ivf specialist in NUH. Any recommendations??
 
Proserpina, I m with KK. Don't know y this cycle need to go back every day... I ask dr yesterday about clearing troops. She said can try alternate day. But I will not try alternate, I want to save more troop for actual day.

Hey gal, it's only 10 days past iui.. Cramps or the lack of cramps don't mean anything really.. Stay positive k! I'm with prof wong who's the head of division.. If there's a need, then can share details with u k.. Right now, just stay positive

Hi Doubles,

According to the semen collection instruction sheet that I received last week, it says abstain from intercourse and masturbation for at least 3 to 6 days before semen collection.
