Dear all

my baby coming to 5 mths old soon. understand that some of them will start to feed baby paste/cereal form from 4mths -6 mths onwards. As this is my first one and there are many brands out there like Nestle/nestum/Chinese type of paste( si shen paste)etc so at a loss what to choose.

Would appreciate mothers out there can share with me more info/ recommendations/feedbacks etc.. thanks!

when my bb reached 5 mths, i gave her Bellamy's baby rice and Heinz puree. They're organic and can be bought from Fairprice Finest. Also started her on mashed pumpkin, potato. Do note there are different schools of thought on starting solids. Some prefer to start 6 mths and after so as to let the digestive system develop further. But I thought my gal can't wait to eat while all the time looking at us eat.

ok thanks! if say my baby dun like to be spoon feed, understand i can feed her by bottle form and mix with milk instead. any idea wea i can get bottle with bigger nipple for the paste to flow thru ? what brand is good? currently i am using avent and pigeon brand milk bottle...

Hi JC, I fed my baby Healthy Times organic rice cereal when I first started weaning (can get at NTUC Finest)...it is stage 1 so suitable for early weaning...then I moved on to stage 2 mixed cereal when baby was older...

Try not to bottle feed baby cereal cos there is a risk of choking...the purpose of weaning is also partly to let baby get used to spoon feeding...it is very normal for them to have the tongue reflex in the beginning (they thrust out their tongue)...but gradually they will lose this tongue reflex and enjoy eating...

If you're on the go when feeding your baby, try rafferty's garden which can be gotten from ntuc, it's an Australian brand.. My daughter loved it when she was 4mths old, even brought them along for all our o/s trips. They have great floors including bf cereal with milk and banana, mango, banana, cinnamon , apple, even choc pudding..all I believe have been mixed wif some milk. It's soft packaging with a re-closable cap so you can keep it for later.

Hi,
I started my boy on Nestlé rice cereal mix w either potato, carrot, pumpin, apple, cauliflower, sweet potato purée . Then I start him on happy times brown rice cereal... Please note to introduce new food gradually just in case your bb is allergic to any of the food I introduce. Brown rice is more nutritious but also more heaty. Introduce solids, give more water too as italy cause constipation f some babies

enjoy the weaning process
