Female Obgyn Recommendations

Hi everyone! I am new here and having an information overload from every corner of the internet. So I'm seeking advise and recommendations to picking out an obgyn that can fulfil the following conditions (wife's request):
- female doctor
- can be from Mt. A, Mt. E, TMC (will be somewhat ok for her also)
- Good reviews for post-delivery stitching
- Detailed, Attentive, Caring (due to unpleasant experience with our first doctor being rushed and uninformative)

Context: We are currently sitting on week 8 going to week 9. Thus, will need to switch doctor asap given that most of their availabilities may not be immediate as well.
Thank you so much!

Hi Sliphery,

Just finish post-partum. Recommending Dr Candice Wang from ACJ Clinic if cost is not a factor. If cost is really not a factor, consider going private as the pros outweigh the cons.

Dr Candice is professional, a mum of three, kind-hearted, emotionally connected, well invested, timely, considerate and listens. We went to Mount E, KKH, Thomson and decided on Mount A. Burnt almost $1,000 just visiting doctors and making sure i feel comfortable for the rest of the weeks ahead.

ACJ Clinic might be crowded, but at least you know the wait is worthwhile. The hospital is new and clean and the nurses are professional. What you pay is what you get no frills.

Also dont take my word for it, check out the google reviews on Google maps. Cheers

$200 easily with meds, got package at 16 week, around $150?

Don’t take the meds, buy from JB exactly the same. The rest is non avoidable.

Medisave $900
Medisave $1.8k claimable after post op

Yes, then it becomes once every 2 weeks and then once every week. Followed by every 3 days depends on the doctor. Basically within the package the doctor asks you to come down, it’s not chargeable until you give birth.

However note there are blood tests, ECG tests etc and are chargeable.

Dr Geraldine Tan. She can delivery at Mt A, and TMC.
I was with her at her katong clinic, then she moved to Mt A.

Consultations with her is always pleasant and comfortable, and not rushed. (But I think because of this, some of her appointment will take long, and cause delay to next person appointment...)

She is friendly, straight to the point, and gives good advice.
I signed a package with her, and remember the price is reasonable.

I'm also looking for a gyne but more for NUH. I know Prof Su Lin Lin is the top recommended but she is unfortunately on leave around my EDD. Anyone tried any other gyne at NUH to recommend?

Hi, and welcome! Totally get how overwhelming this stage can be. Just wanted to recommend Dr Christopher Ng from GynaeMD at Camden, in case you're open to a male OB-GYN.

I had a great experience with him. He's detailed, calm, and never rushed through appointments. After delivery, the stitching and recovery went smoothly, and he was attentive even during postnatal check-ins.

He delivers at Mount Elizabeth, so that might work for you. Worth considering if bedside manner and thorough care are high on your list!

Since you’re open to Mt. A, Mt. E, and TMC, I’d suggest focusing on TMC first. It has a great reputation for maternity care, and many female OBGYNs with strong post-delivery stitching reviews practice there. A few commonly recommended ones are known for being thorough, gentle, and not rushing consultations, exactly what your wife needs after a not-so-great first experience.
