Diet for RA?

We just came back from our appointment with Dr Leong Keng Hong, and he diagnosed my dad with rheumatoid arthritis. Are there certain types of food or exercises that can help treat RA?

Stay away from salty food and alcohol. Btw, may I ask how's your experience with Dr Leong Keng Hong? We're considering switching to him for treatments, am not satisfied with the care we're getting from our current rheuma :/

I am sharing this in case someone still needs advice.
When I was diagnosed with RA, I made some changes to my diet and it really helped how I felt day to day. There is no single RA diet, but eating more vegetables, fruits, fish, nuts and whole foods seemed to reduce my joint pain and stiffness. Cutting down on sugary foods, processed meals and too much red meat also helped. I also saw a rheumatologist here in Singapore. Dr Leong Keng Hong is my doctor, and he explained that diet is part of managing RA along with proper treatment. Small diet changes can make a real difference.
