flukyhoney, those likely who buy 2nd hand stuff r newcomers like us, who r preggie or just had a bb. but we can't post in wts, since can't post, tink many of us dun frequent wts, instead we frequent free & wtb sects. so maybe old timers realised tt they r not getting any response for their postings in wts, hence post in free/wtb, hoping to get more responses.
 
Hi, what is the rational that new users cannot post in WTS section? if we want to buy from WTS thread, we cannot post questions or make enquires there.

We are sorry for the inconvenience but there were too many new users who registered an account just to promote their business in WTS section previously. If we had not implemented this restriction, our server would not be able to cope till today. You can try to contact the seller by PM or you can ask other members to post on your behalf.

u r totally right! I didnt see the wts/sales thread located in Free Items removed ( I hightlighted) nor poster being suspended. I guess once they achieve legal status, they r allowed to post anywhere they like as long as they clear their stock. Thot we (new comers) were told not to sell?

Status difference and the treatment is totally different too! No specific rules and regulations, they change accordingly. So disappointed to be a classified as a new comer - hands and legs r tied!

For people who joined before 15 nov 06, they can post in WTS but noticed that there's an increasing trend that they start to post in Free/WTB sects as these 2 sects are where most newcomers visited. Newcomers are the ones likely to buy 2nd hand stuff cos they are pregnant now or just become mummies.

Old timers are setting bad examples for the newcomers as newcomers would think that it is ok to sell things in Free/WTB sects. While newcomers' threads are being removed & some may hv their accts suspended, we don't see any action taken against these old timers.

What is the massage put across to newcomers? As long as one obtains a "full membership", he/she can sell anywhere, such as Free/WTB sects.

Contacting seller by PM, pls note that not all people activates PM, also, sometimes, it takes quite a while for PM to reach the seller, by the time it reaches the seller, the item may already be reserved by someone else.

Asking other members to post on behalf means I need to get that somebody who can post in WTS, this will also increase the time taken to respond to that posting, hence losing out to other people who can post directly.

I applaud the efforts & time taken that you & your team have put in to give us this great forum. I've benefitted much from it as I've got to know a lot of people. But I can't help feeling that I'm a 2nd class citizen; & the feeling of old timers constantly looking out there to catch us is very unpleasant & due to this, there's seems to have some form of enemity btwn old timers & newcomers. We are all mummies here, why can't we live in harmony?

It's not our fault that we only become mother this year, why can't we enjoy the same status as other mummies who joined earlier? Year 2008 is coming & more women whose going to become mummies will join this forum.

Also, doesn't all the postings that pointed out newcomers selling illegally take up your server resources? Not only this, it also takes up a lot of yours & Bee Lee's precious time to investigate & remove the threads, answering to newcomers' queries, complaints, etc. I believe your precious time can be better spent elsewhere or upgrading the forum.

When the restriction was implemented, there wasn't such a group of newcomers, so you would not be able to listen to our feelings/comments & get our feedback. It's been a yr now & more mummies have joined your forum, I do hope that you would consider our feelings & think of other means of controlling the marketplace. Thank you.

you may want to investigate into this matter,
there are overseas spree organiser who post threads to organise sprees,
without any discount applied to the spree,
when a participant offer to give a discount code,
she'll cancel the spree straight-away.

These Organisers may have discount codes on-hand,
applying to the purchase,
but not to the spree.

Imaging a spree of $400,
10% off - earns $40
15% off - earns $60
20% off - earns $80

Old Navy will give 10% off code if purchase is out-of-stock before shipment,
why isn't the 10% off discount shared in her sprees???
 
Hi Friendly.. I noticed that U are giving my sprees as yr example...

I have only got the free shipments code on hand ready to apply it anytime and definitely I had used it onto all the sprees i have done after this prmotional offers started.. some mummies offer me the 10% discount code or USD10 discount code,I have applied onto it as well..

I always use 13% code on VPOST / Free shipments code on ON sprees & PLUS additonal discount be it the 10% or whatever discount on VPOST shipments at the finalise bals when the items come n are ready for collections after weighting the items if some are opting for postage... thats the way i wrk the spree out..Its abit messy and confusing if again n again i got to post every details out.. i rather explain in a go when items are arrived at VPOST.. sometimes things happened like my spree 7.. VPOST cnt get the parcels.. order all cancel.. ned to apply again no discount code can apply.. etc etc... I find it abit hectic.. so i prefer to finalise all in a go when items rch VPOST.... i not sure if my way are acceptable but.. so far no complains from my spreerist...

I got to say sorry if I didnt stated clearly every single details onto my sprees to let the public see...

I guess it would help to just declare the discount upfront in your terms & conditions.
But take heart, you have nothing to hide and it's not up to anyone to comment on your style of organising sprees.
Some supposedly 'Friendly' person just likes to go about looking at threads and make comments without first verifying with the organiser or with the spreeists.
Well, good intentions or not, this 'Friendly' person is certainly not 'friendly' and is beginnin to get on a lot of mummies' nerves.

Subject: Confinement Ladie's particulars and contact posted in forum.

I implore u to kindly investigate and prevent such postings in the forum. The Forum should encourage such information to exchange thru PM instead.

Reasons being:
1. Users should understand, one man's meat might be another man's posion. Not all MTBs will find the CL suitable and good.
2. Recommendations does carries responsibilities in them too. Should things gone wrong, the forum should not get the 'blame'.
3. Confinement ladies seek this as an opportunity to 'pounce' on ignorant MTBs thus cheating of their deposits.

Singaporemotherhood forum was deemed seen as a happy place for gathering/chat and exchange of information but it's simply sad to be surrounded by an air of grievences with regards the above issues.
