if member who has been ard in e forum for so long (advanced member some more) & can post in WTS but yet choose to post elsewhere such as e free sect, new members may hv e wrong impression tt it can be done, so long it's posted as "asking for a token of $XX or" ... but not "selling for $XX". tink those senior/advanced members who hv been ard for quite a while shd set as gd examples for us, e new members.

Chin Leng,

You might want to take note of this thread at the overseas BP. When questioned about when the shipment will arrive, she mentioned that if there's not enough stock, might have to wait till Jan'08. Which means the same time as our local supplier. Cos local supplier's next order deadline is End Dec, beginning Jan. Will receive stock end Jan'08. Coincident?!!!! Local supplier is selling $6.20 and she's selling it away for $8. That's pure profit.

I often host spree for a local bakery forum. So I know alot from this supplier. And, I don't think Japan take direct order since Heap Seng is already their agent.

mrs teo,
if you read the entire 100+ postings of the BP thread, the $8 is an initial estimate....the final is actually $7. $6.2 was the price gotten in the last BP which is not available now due to price increase...the first batch (current stock) is avail nov/dec and the second batch is jan...

I want to understand better what do we usually mean when we say "Want to Give"?

It seems in the Free thread, there are so many WTG threads but when you open, the member indicate a line as token needed.

My understanding of "Giving away" is generally an FOC item right?? If it's the case, why ask for token? If ask for token, why put WTG?

Please enlighten me. Mayb my english no good.

not sure these ppl really dont know how to read marketplace section - wts wtb n free or purposely doing

selling at wtb

@free items
selling/promoting own sales

somebody ever used this method -<font size="+2"> outstanding sales thread title at free items</font>http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/messages/449169/1080590.html?1195531456
http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/messages/449169/1078320.html?1195426345

http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/messages/449169/1071075.html?1195565905

.... means these thread indicated wts, sales, cash etc. Very outstanding @free

kanec: maybe due to the recent cases of items giving away and someone resell it for $. It could be then the reason of asking for some tokens.

Tokens are items or Money. As long as the token being asked is not unreasonably high amount, i think moderators will not disapprove. But this TOKEN cant be too demanding like a small item for 1 pack of diapers which cost 10+++.

But ppl who is going to use WTG in their thread, pls state clearly on their heading WTG w/ Token in return this will help others to think twice before clicking the thread.

Chin Leng, bunniette is right, better remove the BP on selling of contact lenses before SMH gets into law issues.

Extracted from Contact Lens Practitioners Act, Chapter 53A.

Restrictions on sale and supply of contact lenses
20. (1) Subject to this section, no person shall sell or supply contact lenses unless he has in force a licence under this Act.

(2) Nothing in subsection (1) shall prohibit a manufacturer of, or a wholesale dealer in, contact lenses from supplying contact lenses in the ordinary course of business to

(a) a registered contact lens practitioner or the holder of a provisional licence;

(b) any hospital, clinic, nursing home or other institution providing medical or surgical treatment;

(c) any institution or other body for the purpose of education or research;

(d) a Government department; or

(e) any other person for the sole purpose of export.

(3) Any person who contravenes subsection (1) shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $5,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 6 months or to both.

ram / Violet,
Don't worry, the Mods will investigate all the threads that's reported here before taking any action.
They don't blindly just remove the thread or suspend account just because it is reported here.

Hi CL/BL,
you may want to investigate into this matter,
there are overseas spree organiser who post threads to organise sprees,
without any discount applied to the spree,
when a participant offer to give a discount code,
she'll cancel the spree straight-away.

These Organisers may have discount codes on-hand,
applying to the purchase,
but not to the spree.

Imaging a spree of $400,
10% off - earns $40
15% off - earns $60
20% off - earns $80
