Hi all,

My mum's place is at St. George and i'm currently looking for play group/child care for 18 mth around the area.

Any to recommend?

I've enquired:
MFS (MaNair), Care Corner - they dont' take 18 mths
Creative star - they do take 18mths. Vistited the place, but find that it's not clean. Very limited play area as well. The kids just sit there and do nothing.

I'm afraid there isn't much choices around our area. MFS is expanding their premise. By mid of next year, there will more slots and groups from as young as infant.
You might want to check with them. =)

I am looking for part time nanny, twice or thrice time a week to look after my infant. Anyone knows any in our area? What is the rate like?
 
Hi All! So excited to found this link. I m a first time mummy n my baby is 4 months old. Till today, my bb is waking up twice a night for feeding. Tried forcing more milk Tito her during e day but she just refused to finished it. I m feeding her every 2.5 to 3 hrs of 120ml. But she can hardly finished it each time. She seems real hungry at night n can finished 80ml each time at night. I cannot tell if She is waking up out of habit or she just didn't get enough in e day. Can anyone advice how to wean night feeding?

I guess at this age, still need to wake up 1 or 2 times for night feed bah. My girl, 3 months old also same, wakes up twice every night. Night time I give, 90ml. Day time same as you, 120ml every 2.5 to 3 hoursly.

I am not too sure, is it after they can take cereal at the age of 4 months and above. The night time will be reduced.
 
Hi Bel22, it is recommended by e pedatrician to start food after 6 months as their digestive system will be more mature. In addition it is found to lower chance of developing allergies.

But as for night weaning .. I am not too sure cos I am still struggling .. Heh ..

my kids are in ascension kindergarten..been very happy there.. my elder girl graduated and is at Hong Wen now.. but she misses Ascension kindergarten alot.. will be popping in Jan for my No. 3..

i go to Dr. Denas Chandras @ Geylang East Central.. The Women's Specialist.. our area, very convenient to TMC/ Mt. A/ Mt. E/ GlenE.. so u have plenty of choices..
 
any mummies have send their kid to Ascension Kindergarten or Elim Kindergarten. Im considering btw the 2. would hope to hear from your advise.

Firstda...I dunno abt now but when they just started, I went for viewing n a teacher thought a sleeping child was my kid. She woke her up n carried to me. I could have carried her n left!

Poor child cried after knowing her mum was noT there to fetch her.........

Btw i am offering piano lessons for young kids as follows :

I am offering beginner piano teaching services for kids from 3.5yr old onwards. I have experience teaching my own kid since she was 3.5yr old and she is now in P2 scored a high merit in her ABRSM Grade 4 exam.

I am starting this beginner piano course from Jan 2015 onwards as my kids will be in Primary School and I have some free time. Will be able to teach on weekdays from 8am-1pm at my own residence situated at Geylang Bahru as I have an upright piano which is tuned regularly.

If your child exhibits passion in piano or music and is interested to start please do not hesitate to contact me for more details as research has shown that learning the piano is good for both the left and right brain.

Each session (one-to-one) will last for 30mins. 4 sessions at $60. Materials included. We will make sure your child will learn at a comfortable pace.

Yamz --> I have a friend who has a child at Bestcare Montessori and he has good feedbacks on this sch but depends on your child, certain classes may be on waiting list which my child will be placed on waiting list if we were to enrol.
 
Wow Skmc thanks.... I called them for detaiils and going in today to have it checked out. They seem to be taking kids from March or April.
Was not able to find any reviews on the net... So ,was a little worried.
I am a SHAM , staying at st. George's road.
My girl is 18 months so looking for a playgroup around this area for 2-3 hrs in the mornings, appreciate if you can suggest any. Thanks

I have 2 kids, the elder is turning 5 and the younger is turning 3. Both are in childcare (Bleucastle).

Hi,
My girl goes to Caelum and I notice today that it says they actually have wedding receptions at the rooftop. maybe that is why there is so much noise. Think Taufik's wedding was held there this weekend.. JTS
 
oh.... really? cos it went on till quite late last nite.....

But we also noticed dat there have been quite a number of weddings there lately.... Normally I m quite okie... but when they end late into d nite.... can b quite disturbing 4 my gal.

How's your gal doing at Caelum? I actually thought of registering my gal there too..... but hubby has some reservations....
 
My girl has been there since Jan, so far so good teachers are really great with the kids. She is in playgroup and I was worried she will not be used to it.

Hi Regeena, I used PEM confinement for both of my births.
I used the same nanny. Bao Qin.
But like I tell most mummy, I recommend as I really like her but you know people have chemistry and sometimes some people just don't have the same chemistry like me with her.. So no guarantees..

I'm new to this thread. Am staying around Boon Keng too! Does anyone has any feedback regarding Best Care Montessori? Am thinking of enrolling my boy into their PlayGroup classes.
 
Halo!! I Grow up at St George's Road, now moved to Cantonment road BUT my sons are studying at HWS, my baby still parked at St George's Road with Nanny and my mother also staying there. :)

But when their happy, they are so CUTE :).
