Hi ladies, I'm new here too..on June cycle and just started the jabs 2 days ago on Sunday. Funny thing is I was prescribed to do 4 days of orgulatran (blocker) first before I start gonal-f stim on the 5th day (CD 7). . I called the clinic to check with nurse this morning as almost everyone starts on gonal-F, with blocker coming in later. Then nurse says it's cos day 2 scan my lining is thick and they need blocker to thin it down first then start the gonal-f stimulation. Looks like it's gonna be a long stim and ER will be quite late in tis cycle as eggs need time to grow big. More days of jabs hopefully don't cost a bomb! Next appt and scan is only on 22 June. And going in and out for scans is quite troublesome since I'm working full-time.

Hello ladies! Am I too late to the party? I'm also in the midst of my first ivf cycle at KKH! Just had my egg retrieval done yesterday and feeling miserable and slightly bed ridden. How are you girls doing?
Hi! Still in my 2ww, I'm 1 wk ahead of u. I go out for a few hrs each day..not sure if it's too much walking.
How many eggs did u retrieve, hope many are mature and fertilize!

Hi Cen! They retrieved 26 eggs from me and I felt super miserable and slightly bedridden since ER on Friday. I could eat though, but last night I had the worst nausea ever and I felt like I was going to die. With this amount of bloat, I don't know how they can proceed for the ET I'm scheduled for this morning (Monday 830am). I'm prepared to postpone the ET since I've read that it gets worse with pregnancy. Slightly confused and feeling miserable. Still trying to be positive but the extreme nausea last night was really bad.

Just got back from KKH, I have about 13 embryos fertilized with one more possibly as they are monitoring it. Also the blood work came back to say I'm normal, so I dunno what last night was all about, I felt horrible, but thankfully I have the sweetest hubz in the world to make things better.
They are going to cultivate the embryos for another day to become a day 4 blastocyst as we can't do day 5 cuz it's a PH, but it'll do!
I'm really excited despite feeling miserable. Let's all not lose hope! Baby dust to all!

I didnt do any exercise. I only did some walking. I dont even dare to go for shopping until D7 had about 3-4hrs shopping time. And that's all.

Hi sweetie,
I would suggest IVF instead of keyhole surgery. I have bothblocked tubes. Was with KKH and the idiotic Dr told me cannot unblock. I recuperated for a yr, seeked TCM to '调理' my body and did IVF.
Keyhole surgery is VERY painful compare to IVF. Ivf is alot more mentally involved i would say. But if you are positive enough, i am sure you can get through this stage.

Babe you're not alone. I was smiling like a mad person to myself the whole time and on the ride home. Didn't even pay attention to what my hubz was saying. Only stared at the photo of the little bean. So cute. It was so magical.
We transferred a day 4 too!

I started my first appt at KKH in early June and scheduled for IVF in September as a private patient. I guess it is a 3 month wait.
Dr Sadhana will be a good choice. She is the Director for the IVF department in KKH. She is very warm and friendly too. I can't comment on the success rate as I am first timer with her but a couple of my friends who was treated under her has had very good success rates.

Thanks! That is great to know. KKH appt line made an appt for me under Dr Sadhana. Is there a number that dials directly to the fertility clinic? I thought i want to check with them on the weight concerns.

@sharkles: I'm under Dr Sadhana and it is my first IVF this month too and I'm pregnant on the first try even with a left Hydrosalpinx, which is like a miracle! She's really professional and really nice. I did get severe OHSS from the stims though and it's rare for a single embryo to get it but she visited me everyday at the hospital and was really on the ball about things. Her attention to detail sometimes scares the nurses but it's good for us. Heh.

Hi shir, I have a total of 16 follicles & lining was around 8-9.
Thats good to hear! My friend told me to change to Dr Tan HH. Now i am not sure, cos Dr Tan is like super busy right? Dr Sadhana sounds nice. does she provide TLC? I cannot deal with doctors who are too impatient and direct.

I'm not sure about Dr Tan HH but alot of ladies are with him in this forum and might be in a better position to answer that. But for Dr Sadhana, she has been really nice and professional throughout our entire IVF journey. She helped us find out the reason why we couldn't conceive after 5 years, helped me get through severe OHSS and helping us get our very first BFP on the first try when the entire internet said it is impossible without removing Hydrosalpinx.
She insisted that we try IVF without removing it and it worked! During my 11 days of hospital stay, she will visit me every day to check on me, and the nurses were afraid of her as she is extremely detailed in what she needed them to do for me. She is confident as she should, as head of IVF. I wish she delivers but sadly she is passing me on to another doctor as I no longer need her care. I feel kinda sad to be honest. Haha!
Sorry, dint quite understand you had to be hospitalised because of your condition or all IVF procedure have to be hospitalised?
I have PCOS and saw a private fertility doc and was told i need to do IVF cos i am not responding to medication. IUI dont seem to be an option. He even told me that if i go KK, KK will reject me cos i am overweight.

Ahh sorry if I was unclear! I got severe OHSS from overstimulated ovaries from IVF. It is a rare complication and I got it quite bad.
Oh dear! But glad you are doing great! Are you also under private patient with subsidy for IVF? In this case if need to be hospitalised, the bills is out of own pocket right? Cos i doubt my hospitalization plan will cover.

Yeah, I'm a private patient. I was able to claim all 11 days worth of hospital fees from insurance, so it's all good! Bill is over 10k. :O But I'm a very rare case babe LOL. Most of the ladies here went through IVF just fine without issues. Regardless, I still feel very blessed to be pregnant. It is a miracle.
I think if your current doctor isn't working out for you, you should get a second opinion with specialists. Don't lose hope over these comments from doctors who can't fix your problem.

Thanks dear! Wah insurance can cover? Your insurance is those normal shield plans? Cos i know if hospitalised due to fertility treatment isnt covered. maybe i need to check.
I also quite unlucky so i must be prepared for worse case scenario.

I know it's a shield plan but I'm not too sure about the details as my hubz handles these things. But I know my agent claimed this under complications and I was also quite amazed it got through. They even reimbursed me $200 bux cash per day on top of everything else.

Thats good! Yes i will! Tomorrow will be going to TFC to get the results of my hub's test. Thereafter likely to tsf to KK. Have an appt with KK in Sept, still undecided if i should change to Dr Sadhana. Later KKH think i playing around, cos i changed to Dr Tan from Dr Sadhana.
