Anyone doing IVF in KKH under Dr Chua Ka Hee?

Around 10 months for me. How many eggs retrieved? Maybe you can discuss with him and ask for more dosage if not many eggs were retrieved :)

Wah 10months is quite long.. my first cycle was 7 eggs, 6 fertilised, 3 blastocysts, but only 1 made it to day 5. I have no frozen embryos, need to go for 2nd fresh cycle. I guess will rest a few months for now. Still bleeding quite badly (now) dunno when it will stop.

From the Hysterosalpingo-foam-sonography report, there seemed to be an extremely fine line or something that ran across my uterus. So Dr Chua suggested taking a look at the inside and if theres really nothing, he would then do an endometrial scratching. Im not sure if doctors would propose a day surgery like this upon request or what. For me, it was a recommendation after having seen my report.

Though i have adenomyosis, my body doesnt display most of the symptoms. So i dont know if a scratch did help afterall ornot. I also didnt link the final pregnancy to the scratch.

TCM knew about my adenomyosis and slight fibroids too. TCM is holistic treatment. About boosting or balancing the main organs. So I dont think the medicine was specifically about treating adenomyosis alone. More of Yin-Yang qi etc....
Hi’ may I ask did u remove your fibroids ? How big were they and where were these located ? Did dr Chua ask u to remove the fibroid ?

Hello Annie,

The 2 frozen embryos are of Day 3 (Grade 3).

In fact, I requested to transfer the previous frozen blastocyst first as it was an A*grade. I thought it might help me be pregnant. It was only a borderline pregnancy with 10.5units of hcg, which 2 days later, the blood test dropped to less than 5units.

Hope that helps. :)
hi there. may i ask which day did u do your beta of 10.5units?

Hi all
Just wanna share my experience with dr chua so far, which I will recommend, though I have not succeed ivf yet. Sorry if i too lor soh haha.

I started with Dr Tan HH in Jul 2019, first consultation was quite a rush through i feel, afterall he has too many patients. So plan for ivf in Sep 2019. But Dr Tan was clearing leaves, ER and ET was done by Dr Jerry Chan and resulted in ectopic. So the first review after BT with Dr Tan was again a quick one and he explained abt chemical pregnancy and tell me my hcg must drop. Sounded very crude. After that he left, and my case was passed on to Dr Chua. When he asked if its my first pregnancy, I told him, I dont even know if I am preg, since the way Dr Tan puts it across is like u cannot be pregnant . Then Dr Chua says yes i am definitely preg based on my hcg climbing up (abnormal rate), and he tried to scan but only manage to found a spot near tube/ovary instead of uterus and told me in a very gradual manner about it. I just like the way of how he break bad news to u, not direct but taking care of your feelings and still make the point across. After that first visit with him, had to repeatedly go back kkh for BT and ultrasound scan every 2 days and review with him for almost 1-2 weeks, finally decided to go with the jab to terminate.
After that, has been continuing to follow up with Dr Chua and all is good, was ready for 2nd round of fresh but hit Covid, so waited till Sep 2020 for ny 2nd fresh. He increased another jab for me this round, more eggs were retrieved, but it still failed. Then he suggested to go with frozen cycle next, which happened in Nov 2020. I had 1 d3 from 1st and 1 d5 from 2nd, so he said to thaw the d3 till blast and thaw d5 and transfer 2. Sounds like taking a gamble cos u wont know how they will turn out. On ET day, after dr Chua came out from the lab checking on the embryos, he sounded very positive that the d3 has grown well into a good blast, and d5 is still a bit fragmented cos just thawed. In my previous ET with him, he also sounded positive that we had a good d5 blast to transfer. The way he puts it always give you hopes! But later on, the embryologist came out and told us the d3 to blast was grade B (good), and the d5 is actually not good with surviving rate of less than 50% but doc still choose to transfer. Well i guess his intention is good in that some thinks by placing back into womb maybe a good condition/environment for the embies. Well turns out it still failed.
During these reviews with him after failed BT, he will always give the sympathy concern that I am not preg again. Usually i see him at clinic A where he has lots of patients too. Recent visit at clinic D, he seems to have more time spare and explain and answer all my questions very clearly and patiently.

Overall, he is definitely a doc that you will comfortable with, with patience and all. Lets hope my 3rd cycle will be a success Gonna do endo scratch this time round plus loading myself for Vit D! Cos this is what he sent me for test after all the failed tries and realised my vit D too low.
hello there thanks for sharing. may i ask how is it going now?
