today i want to bring my boboi to the beach la, it will be his first time.. we seldom bring him out bec malas nak bawak banyak barang... to date only go his grandpa house and parkway parade a few times, and the airport..

hopefully i tak penat sangat la.... u know la pegi beach ni kene jalan kaki... lemah lutut.

but i used to be a beach person, my dad taught me and my siblings swimming kat laut tau, not those swimming pool and i was only like pri 2, i think. life was so simple back then, mak bapak bawak pegi piknik aje da happi.

today's weather is great to go to the beach! i remember the 1st time i brought my dd to the beach. it was her 1st b'day. i held her hand and walked with her towards the water, and everytime the waves came crashing, she would say "scared" and do the "sign" fo scared (ie. tap her chest with her open hand). so cute! that was almost 1yr ago....
 
we wanted to take our daughter to the beach during the cny weekend. nasib baik tak pergi. it was soooo crowded.

now, i dunno when we'll go because we have things lined up for the next few weekends.
 
oh dear..what has happened? just a few days of not logging in and seems that i'm 'missing out' on loads.

telly: the cny weekend was indeed a horrible time to bring the kids to the beach. you'll prob end up swimming in a pool of people. did you see the report in the newspaper? teruk sekali.

hubby and i had wanted to bring the kids to sentosa. wah! can't believe our eyes when we saw the massive jam. totally unbelievable. macam nak cross causeway.

I used Clarins Body Shaping & Total Body Lift Cream. Yup effective but add up to my xtravangance spending.... hehehee.. really got to cut down. Like you, if can find cheaper alternative will be good. Can channel the funds to my others ever non ending list of purchases ..

In the spirit of trying to cut down my boros-ness I also change my skincare from SKII to Clarins. What a big savings it has been!! Any mummies can recommend any cost saving skincare that are good & effective? Pls feel free to contribute your input. daa jadik mother or 2 nih spending mentality hv to change laa.... but sadly my doter daa terikut-ikut my "anyhow spend $$" attitude

RMS i'd join the overseas spree before...b4 i purchase i check the price in sg 1st...n usually i beli things tat r really mark down n where u cannot buy in sg...just for info like the first toothpaste yesteri check out the price was abt $19 sin..but if order in us 2 packs is abt sin$20 with vpost n u get 2 thats double...so quite worth...

I dulu kerja. Then bila nak dekat beranak, i tak bekerja. Jadi SAHM. Bila anak nak dekat setahun, balik kerja lagi. Finance tak cukup... so kena kerja.

But then, somehow my skin macam tak serasi dgn clarins. The moisturizer. Hai..problem. Sampai kena tengok dermatologist kat CGH. Dermatologist ask to stop. But i think it's more likely due to heavy stress. Probably, i shall change to dermologica after this.

How's life? Hmm... somehow my life this year tak banyak drama sangat. Pasal those in-laws dah get the picture loud and clear. So long didn't talk to you... i've been very busy juggling life. Last year, my life so dramatic again. I think i really feel macam nak write script to TCS and sell it. Sure big hit man! I betul-betul dah snapped. You really can't believe i really snapped. I think i over the head already.

Anyway, this year so far smooth sailing. I hope macam gini lah throughout the year. I have no more energy to face any drama.

How's your daughter? Birthday coming up right? You planning any party?

I'm glad that when I downgrade like you said to Clarins, my skin can take it. But I'm still using SKII Cleanser coz it's gd. Clarins soap tends to dry up my skin. At 1st I kinda hv headache using the WhitePlus range due to the smell but now daa get use to it.... yup can really save quite a substantial amt...

I am currently using this MIL pdt called Artistry by Amway. Boleh tahan and tak semahal SKII (walaupun I know it works wonders). Hahaha..Tapi lepas pakai tu, poket pun berlobang (especially when dah ada anak 2 dan gila masukkan kelas banyak2). Hahaha...

any mums here got any suggestions of a place i can book that is cheap and good to hold her party? and preferably one that will allow us to engage or own caterer.

Own caterer eh?? Hw abt kat chalet?? I did my son's 2nd Bday last yr kat Mcdonald's Kallang. They have party for the kids but quite bored for the parents la pasal makan Mc jer kan..But you wont be tired at the end of the dayla..that's an advantage.. You do not need to kemas2..dah habis jer balik..But of cuz,not forgetting all the gifts that you have angkut..For us, not only our car was occupied with all the presents, even my brother in law's as well!!

I guess it's subjective. My idea of good might differ from someone else's. Anyway, I'm satisfied with it as it's affordable. I mean cheaper that SKII, definitely! Although I can't quite measure the effectiveness because I've only tried SKII for a while. For Artistry, it's of course more worth it if you are a member. Then you'll be able to enjoy great bargains. Quite a huge discount, actually. Let me know if you are keen.
Pasal kelas my anak tu..Paiseh nak bilang sini. Hahaha...Seems so kiasu but I just feel that they can certainly benefit from them. And I believe that as long as dia orang tu tak complain about not enjoying them, then I'll still let them continue. The classes are basically the norm - gym, reading and all.... Pm me if you are really keen to know the actual places they go to cos I don't want to sound as if I'm so showy. Must be really careful what you write in the forum cos some people might be tersingung.

I've been using dermalogica for a while. I go to leonard drake for facial too. I think product i use even before i get married. pernah la gatal tukar product, clarins, clinique, lancome... then tak sedap so switch back to dermalogica.. tapi muke i tak la flawless macam siti nurhaliza kan.. bec have bad skin since teens.

I find dermalogica punye product veri simplistic... takde the all important 'anti-aging'stuff and all. so to benefit u pegi la facial dia sekali, there have good treatments.

anyway ic, kalau u have source to get the products cheaper let me know bec at leonard drake they give only 5% discount aje.

SKII belum try lagi. that one i reserve to use when muke dah teruk (mintak mintak jauhkan la...) hehehe

Yaa shermin sayang my $$ spent for 3yrs using SKII. Now got 2 kids, I'm more sensible (or trying to) in splurging on myself... got to put aside the kids education, medical blah..blah...blah.. left abit to spend on myself now.. but I'm more contented in life now seeing my kids grow up beautifully...

Got bad experience with Kallang Mac for my DD b'day... On the actual day they actually forgot abt the engagement so the room was not decorated. Very sad & kesian my DD. Got to wait for while before the asst mgr managed to get a staff to entertain the kids.. So chaotic. We make noise but there's no much he can do coz the branch mgr was off & he can't makes the decision.

Recently jer gone bonker joining overseas spree nih not knowing how much I'll be charged for the shipping charges. Thot in won't be much but skali got charged $15 for for a dress (not incl of reg mail) then think it's not worth it laa... Maybe will join O.S. if the brands can't get in S'pore like Old Navy & Victoria Secret. The one that can get in S'pore just get them here jer... cut dwn on the waiting anxiety for the item to arrive or kena buble by organiser..

Me too had such a bad experience in Mac. Same thing they gave us a meeting room instead of the party. They claimed it has been taken before us. So hubby asked for their reservation book and checked. Guess what?!! Actually we did the booking 1st before the other family! Ape lagi we made a lot of noise, got them to decorate ours by hook or by crook since the party nxt room started. The manager then apologised, gave us an extra free meals for the guest and a discount on the total amount. Serves them right.
Btw, are u still working? Who's looking after you kids while you are working? Hw old are they? I want to join Amore in Simei, not sure in Kovan ade spa tak..

I use to go to Amore at eastpoint for a while, but now cannot lompat lompat lagi pasal have bad knees and agravated by pregnancy. Now makan glucosamine and chrondroitin (ubat for joints, i so understand if u young pple never heard of it) macam org tua.

Shermin, last time i go pun by myself, somehow i prefer it bec tak payah nak janji janji.. just go for which ever classes i want.

Now i buy the leslie sanson walking dvd and do it at home.. less strain on the knees and at one time u can walk 3 miles..plus u can do it anytime, cheaper pun tau. but motivation mesti ade la itu yg masalah sikit

Sorry lah. Bukan I tak nak share. Just worried especially with the recent incident here. Don't want to be misunderstood. Anyway, my kids are turning 6 and 3 (this year). I send them to classes like gym, ngaji, agama, swimming and reading. Some are for both, except for a few which are meant for kakak only. Oh ya! Then there's the Math class. The girl used to have tennis and Art but has since stopped. We stopped her piano too cos we find that it is unfair for her to not progress as fast cos we don't have anything for her to practise on. We told her that we'll put her in again should we have the means to get a piano. We feel that that will make more sense. Strangely, now my girl is asking to be enrolled in ice skating. Hahahha....Macam mak dan bapak dia cap duit.
What kind of classes are you thinking of putting your kid in? How old again?

can tell me more abt these supplements you taking? cause ever since i gave birth tau, my knees pun have been giving me problems (maybe because i squat/bend down and get up very very often), so now my knees always aching. or it could be i am getting old lah. so i think it's best that i start taking supplements for this, before it gets worse.

The supplement i'm taking is from vitahealth. Not too expensive (esp during JL or Robinsons sale). Its called Athrozon Joint Builder with 750g glucosamine and 500g chrondoitin. there's so many products out there with these ingredients bec they are the two that u need to build and repair the wear and tear in your joints and also to ease movement. but like all supplements no instant results. consistency is the name of the game.

Macam doctor eh... bec my mum had serious knee problems, she was wheelchair bound and finally went for both knee replacement abt 4 years ago. my mum in her younger days superwoman, jalan sana sini do everything, she was also a bit of a sportswoman. so her knees cartilage wear out la.and as the weight pile up the knees cant support the body and it further deteriorates. after the knee replacement, she is much happier and she lost the weight bec she can move around. so literally my mum has knees of steel..hehhehe

Personally i find raffles punye got a bit of an unpleasant smell. i am a bit particular bec takut makan ubat, so if the tablet too big also i cannot swallow.

i too so scared abt my knees, lepas tengok my mum op, i think i will not be as brave as her.. after her op she was on morphine for three days u know, high aje tak sedar org...after three days only therapist datang to start moving the "new kness" tak payah tanye la sakit ke tak..i really admire my mum's courage to regain her independence

this leslie sansone has a series of workout dvd based on walking. very low impact but it keeps u moving with variations for upper body etc.

You go to amazon and type in her name. banyak ade. but read the reviews if u want to purchase bec some can be very dated bec she's been around since the 90's. but i dun mind.

i started with the " walk away the pounds" its only a 1 mile (18 mins) and 2 mile (30 mins) segments. You imagine, 30 mins u can walk 2 miles. Bec after my c-section i dun dare to do anything streneous. No lompat lompat, remember.

now i hv move on to the 4 miles. the good thing is its broken down to a 20 mins each for 3 segments. so if i takde time i do 1 part or two parts aje boleh. I TRY to do it twice a week bec of busy/lazy schedule. but weekend i mesti do once, if now i do the whole 4 miles its only 60 mins. so i think thats manageable.

i bought mine from amazon. HMV pun ade but very limited.

i just realised discovery home & health ada exercise programme pukul 7 pagi. so today, after seeing my hubby off, i thought i want to exercise along (instead of sleeping again which i normally do). but look where i am now.. exercising my fingers only. manalah perut tak buncit. hahaaa!

anyway ladies, i dont think we should fear that people think we are trying to show off. maybe thatlady tengah pms ke, post natal blues ke, biarlah dia. when people ask, we should volunteer info. tak payah nak malu malu aau takut what other people's responses are. because we are all learning from each other. that's the whole point of this forum, kan?

Wow! Your mother really is brave. Alhamdulillah everything is better for her now. Good for her....I can understand how one feels when he/she is immobile...like my dad. Susah nak jalan because he is not well. Sedih I tengok. I think it is indeed inportant to take care of our joints. Especially when we have been like what Nora described her mum...a superwoman...The side effects will only come in later. I've been trying to do some walking too. Will stop a few bus stops away from my place and then walk home. My vain attempt...but insyaAllah it'll bear fruit in a few months time.

At least you've got x'tra meals & discount for the hiccups in Mac. Me don't hv. Coz the asst mgr happens to be a malay/malaysian my hubby takes pity on him and hold back his punches. Some more he looks pityful when me & hubby bombarded him with lotsa of questions... cam nak nangis gitu he... We makes him stands infront of our guests and apologize for the disorganised party... apologise profusely even sent my guests out 1 by 1 to their cars... and see us off. I used to spend abt 1K or so to replenish the SKII skincare. Cleanser, Toner, Moisturiser got 2 types, essence, make-up remover, night cream, face masks... haiyah the list go on laa.. Paling benci sekali when most of the items run out at the same time... so pain hv to fork out that much $$ that's why I switch to CLARINS. Furthermore got no time to spare with a new baby in tow to pile my face in the morng with all those pdts - abt 7 or 8 gitu. Time consuming. Got better things to do like preparing porridge for my kids.. Alhamdullilah laa my skin tak meragam.... so now $$ channel to my 2 precious. More berbaloi investments...

I understand your 1st is 9 and 2nd is only 7 mths. The age gap is very huge. How do you cope with the fact that after 8 yrs baru conceived lagi.. I mean if I'm in your shoes kan, I would just abandon the idea of having another 1. Well 9 yrs its like a great rest and the idea to start all over again, will never cross my mind. No joke, Mamma!!

my boi very manja & very active.. very determined boy.. die-die if he wants to get up, sit down or break free .. he'll try his very best effort to do it... baby nowadays from diff from 9 yrs ago.. I'm still struggling to understand them.... W/ends tu some time I do feel tired & run out of idea or irritate to entertain them from morng till nite. But feel guilty to let my maid handle the baby. Daa laa from Mon-Fri 7am - 6pm let the maid see-see look-look them takan w/end also want want to do the same .... So how tired/irritate I am also I've to think of an outing to keep them amused/occupied

It never occurs to me that I'm gonna hv another baby also. When got to know that I was - got a mixed feeling of unsure & scared.. but never terlintas want to abort... no regrets when he was born & fretting having to start all over again. I feel I'm a better mum now than I was with my DD. Guess due to age & internet. My DD time everything also I left it to my sis who was her caregiver so never notice how's she grow.... very bad kan.. but with this one.. I noted when he's eyebrow, lashes, hairs started to grow.. very amazed hehehee can't explain laa the phenomenon nih...

yah your kids age gap very wide. for me i think i will be very malas to go thru everything all over again. the thought of going thru night feeds, terrible 2s, etc really scares me. already as it is now, my dd in her T2s stage, sometimes also cannot tahan. luckily got hubby, maid and my parents to help share the load/burden. if i sorang-sorang all the time, surely can go mad.

actually my girl now dah nak masuk 4 mths and my hubby and i already plan for no 2 next year...as in pregnant this year and gv birth next year... cepatkan?

But i miss being pregnant. Altho i didn't get to carry to full term pasal kena csection at 37 wks. I had grp B strep (bacteria) at the birth canal so danger to the baby. Boleh kena brain infection kalau water bag burst so had to schedule for csect... Lagipun she was not gaining weight at 7 mths onwards. I think pasal i puasa lah. After 2 weeks of fasting, she didn't gain weight and was in distress. I was q worried at that time. Twice a wk kena go check foetal heartbt...

Kalau first preg csect, usually second one pun sama eh? Tak boleh deliver normal?

Eh i pun same.. kena c-sect at 37 weeks. but my gynae was just waiting for that time. I pun da hospitalised by then. But its bec i got placenta previa (ie. the placenta blocking the birth canal, so no way out). Then i was carrying baby low, so dia macam tersendat gitu... since 5 mths pregnant i jalan macam koboi..

What was ur baby's weight at birth? Mine was 2.2kg aje, he's so tiny.

My sis gave birth to her 1st kid by c-sect and the next year she deliver her 2nd baby by normal delivery. Si i guess its still possible. Lagi anak dia besar besar. I think 1st was 3.6kg and 2nd was 3.8kg. but her second pregnancy was closely monitored la. You consult ur gynae and monitor, they are the best pple to advise u.

So next week u start work, sure cair la..

my first day back to work was the day after my birthday and bulan puasa lagi..lembik aje.. ingat nak extend but i already promised i will be back and october is a busy season for us. busy also good la straight away get in gear kan.

pple must think i am banyak free, post panjang panjang. but its more bec i do enjoy the communication and interaction here. In our fast paced environment, where got time to always catch up with frens. i admit i pun tak banyak kawan, bec mane ade masa, most of my time is at work and our interest differs and some of us are in difference stages of our lives. like many have said, we can always share what we know etc and also support each other.

at the moment, i have a good fren in melbourne, and 2 still not married. I guess, like wat u said is true, all of us are in different stages in our lives..

kalau bukit batok tu i setakat lalu time jalan hari raye aje. i am at pasir ris.

i am in the accounting and consulting line, not that i suke sangat keje but i dun know what to do if i'm not working. i tried not working for 10 mths, in my efforts to procreate...nothing happens during that ten mths and i thot my life become stagnant...so i went back to work.

but sadly i work pretty long hours. have tried to cut down. now i make sure i leave office between 6.30 and 7.00. tapi now still at office. ok must pack up.

Niwey, i cant say i missed being pregnant la ....

I think i MIA for quite some time. This CNY macam v busy. Then adam pun sakit. Down with fever. Rase2 dia nk tumbuh gigi lagi. Bab air liuh dia meleleh je. Byk lar posts to catch up. Only manage to read abt the 'war of word's at the top of the page. What a great 'welcome'!
