Any comments on Dr Tan Bee Gawh (TCM) from Everspring Acupuncture?

Hi,

I am thinking to start this thread since I have not seen any threads on Dr Tan BG.

I have been seeing Dr Tan BG from Feb 07 since I have irregular menses period all these while. After taking her medicine that she has diagnosed for 2 months, my period has got on regular cycle and the best thing is that my period is not as painful as I used to have.

I remembered that last time, at certain months, I had to rush down to my family clinic doctor to ask for a jab (injection). This goes on for a long time (in terms on years that I am talking about). And I have been trying out for a year before i see her to get preggy, but to no avail.

Finally I decided to seek help from her which my friend recommend me...

After I finished my 2nd course of medicine, my menses cycle becomes regular as in a 24 days cycle. And since then, I started to see her again for revisit and she has diagnosed medicine for me as I am TTC-ing.

This is my 1st month of taking the medicine plus the herbs that she has asked me to cook in slow-cooker and drink once a week.

Am now still eagerly waiting to get preggy.... Hopefully I dont have to wait too long for it.

I have just started seeing her too. :) Saw her 1 week ago and have been taking her medicine. I am also trying to conceive but has no luck so far after numerous IUI.

The medicine she gave is supposedly to help unblock my tubes.

Anyone else has similar encounter?

Oh you just started seeing her? So how many days of dosage did she give you ? And when you need to go back to her for review??

By the way, what do you mean by IUI? I abit blur .. hee...

hi guys, i gather from the name of the clinic that she does acupuncture too? am looking around for an acupuncturist to tiao my body too.
 
thanks. =) considering but just changed job so might have a tight schedule. Hard to see doctors, queue for doctors etc

yah... she's a good in acupuncture... Can consider her...

yah ... to see her, you have got to go there to get queue number first... and then after that in the evening have to go there by 6pm before it closes....

If you have no time to take queue number first, then have to go down by 6 pm and be the last patient for her day...

By the way, it's also open on saturday .... till 5 i tink...

Sorry for replying so late. Was away on biz trip and etc and has no time to update. I was given medicine for 1.5 months since my cycle was long.

Actually at the same time, I was also seeing Dr Xia Rong from EYS - whom I have been seeing for 5 months.

Dr Tan's medicine seems to clear my system - bowel system - as I usually have constipation. :p

I also see Dr Loh in Apr and tried for 1 natural cycle again. Finally I have decided on IVF as I am getting on with age - coming to 35 next year and I don't want to waste any more time. I will be cycling next month.

Oh ic .. am wondering how come you were away for so long...

I am starting to see Dr Lee KM from EYS now .... He prescribed me with the medicine to regulate my mense as well as to improve my womb. I only started to see him and this is the 2nd wk of medicine dose... HOpe that no need to wait too long ....

So u intend to go for IVF, after how long of ttc?

I actually have done 7 cycles of IUI since 2004- 1 of them was a SO-IUI and all failed. My hb's sperm is ok so I think the problem lies with me. I had 1 lap done last year with Prof Chen. All IUIs are under him. He was too exp and I cannot afford to continue under him.
After my last failed SO-IUI last year, I was too stressed up and wanted to take a break. So I went for TCM to tune my body - that is why I start to see Xia Rong and Dr Tan.

You are still young :) 5 years younger than me so I think you are in a better position than me. How long have you been ttc? My advice is use the TCM to tune your body first and if you still cannot succeed then try out IUI or IVF.

Going for Dr Loh as he seems to be highly rated in this forum. Hopefully I can get lucky. :)

Btw, I also have irregular menses. My cycle can be from 32 to 45 days. So far, taking both Xia Rong and Dr Tan's medicine did give me slight improvement. Now it is between 32 to 40 days.

What about you? What are your plans?

For me, I started to ttc this year, Jan. Went to see sinseh, which is Dr Tan. So for Jan and Feb (2 months) was like dunno how many days my cycle, cos regulate my cycle. So I guess missed the conception period.... So really started from march onwards, when Dr Tan gave me conceive pills. However, up till May no use (another 2 months)....din strike..

So switch TCM to Dr Lee KM at EYS, just seen him for the 1st month (which is June) now. Still seeing him.... He gave me medicine to regulate as well as strengthen my womb loh.. Hope that everything gets better. Still waiting for my O .... still havent come, today is already the CD19 liao... hoping it to come these few days, but even these few days, mense cycle will still be long like CD 34. So long hor ??

And I have been to see Dr Cheng from TMC fertility centre to ask for his advice.... So he say if i'm prepared, then next mense come have to go down to let them take blood test as well as to monitor my cycle loh...

So i'm still deciding and meanwhile praying hard that I will strike this month... so that I wont have to go through all these leh ...

I definitely understand your situation. The worst thing abt irregular menses is that it is hard to tell when is the ovulation day. I use ovulation strips, I measure BBT temp - all cannot tell when I am ovulating.

If I detect an increase in temp, and then I try to test with the O sticks, it will return negative results. When I detect a positive result with the O sticks, the temp remains low and does not increase even for the next few days. SO kind of give up trying to track the O day.

I do visit gynaes for scan then - during my IUI days. Every month I spend abt 2K with Prof Chen. The last So-IUI cycle costs me about 5K +. Not to mention the laproscopy I have done with him. In all, I think I spend about 30K on Prof chen with no results. :-(

My advice is give yourself sometime and tune up your body now. I always feel that chinese medicine is good for the body.

Dr Loh - my IVF doc did say that, closer to the O day, just try every alternate days - just to make sure that you have a higher chance of conceiving. You might want to try that.

I started to use the OPK strip only since last month (May). For this month, i realised that even my own body is telling me that my O is yesterday, cos of my sticky and stretchy egg-white mucus. When O day, the mucus will be stretchy egg-white mucus rite ?

Looks like the O is over already, which is yesterday (CD19). Cos this morning (CD20), my temp rises this morning after constant for 5 continuous days. My sinseh told me that temp suppose to remain constant before O and the best appropriate number of days is 5 to have a conducive environment for the womb. So I continously BD for 5 days ... hee ... But I used the OPK strip, it seems like the C line is still darker than the T line... So wondering why.....
So I trust my body or the strip ? um.... Do you agree that I should trust my body instead hor ??

Dunno whether the OPK strip working anot ... cos it's a new batch of strip which is not the same batch as wat I used last month loh.... or cannot trust the OPK strip too much ??

Temp rise means O already over liao rite ??

Wa.... spent so much $$ on Prof Chen and in the end, still no results... can be quite depressing one ......

But since u with Dr Loh now .. Just try with him..... bb dust to you .... :p hee..

If your temp rises today, that means you have O already. Chances will be you have O yesterday. The discharge is a good gauge for O.

My chinese Sinseh - Xia Rong told me usually O will follow like 2 days after you see the clear discharge. And you should make love before O because the sperm will take time to swim to your womb. So by the time the sperm gets there, probably just nice to meet the egg. If the sperm reaches there before the egg gets released, it is ok as it can wait for the egg in the womb. Afterall sperms have a longer lifespan than the egg. Sperms can survive for up to 4 days but the egg can only survive at most 48 hours, usually i think it is only 24 hours. :-(

So best chance for conception is for the sperm to be already at the womb waiting for the egg. This explains why the ovulation kit always advise you to start BD once you detect the LH surge - which occurs 36 hours-48 hours before ovulation. This way, you can be sure your sperm is all ready for the fertilisation when the egg gets released.

Wa..you very hardworking BD for 5 days in a row. Trying alternate days is to keep the sperm in good quality cos it takes time for the man to build up their sperm supply again. Anyway, I think you should try BD 1 day after ovulation also -to maximise your chances!

I hope you succeed this month and get a rat baby! Lots of baby dust to you!!!

U know what? yesterday i told u about temp rise liao rite...., today a sudden drop dramatically.... dunno why like tat ... Thought it should stay high one leh... no har.. ?

Don't care abt the silly strip or the temperature lah. It does not work for me as well. Damn frustrating. My advice is just try again tonight!!! :)

My temp also erratic goes up and comes down - so I cannot detect the spike. When I detect a spike, it does not correspond with the OPK results. SO I don't know which is correct.

So dun care lah, gauge based on ur discharge and just whack!!! :)

Not that cannot BD everyday but doctor told me before sperm needs time to replenish. So alternate days will be better. Give your hubby eggs as well. :) That helps with the sperm supply or quality cannot remember which one. :p

Now I am waiting for my AF to report to start my IVF cycle. Duno what to expect also.

OH ... then how ?? I BD everyday during there leh.. dunno whether like tat will affect to strike anot hor ...

eggs also helps ? he loves to eat eggs... hahaha...

Btw, there are some work related projects which are not confirmed and I am contemplating if I should delay when I start my IVF. But so far, almost everyone asked me not to let it hold up the IVF process.

Guess there is no better time always. I should just proceed with what I need to do.

Btw, I also heard and read that ladies should also eat eggs to improve the quality of your eggs. Try it also. Might make ur eggs stronger.

For men, eggs that we eat = proteins. Sperm = proteins. So eating eggs = giving your body more proteins, therefore = improving on sperm quality. Try that. :)

I mean once you start your IVF, you cannot work is it ?

hee .. but all the while both of us love eggs.... we can almost eat eggs like at least 4 times a week one ...

I'm new to this thread and I'm glad to have found this interactive forum.

I'm in a similar situation. I'm 35 this yr and have been ttc for bout 1.5-2 yrs. Prior to seeing Dr Cheng, I went to 2 other doctors but with no success. I was found to have PCOS and did a lap in Nov 2006. Then I decided to embark on IVF/ICSI beginning this year since time wasn't in my favour.

I've been seeing Dr LC Cheng beginning of this year and had 1 cycle of IUI with him but that failed. I then proceed with IVF/ICSI program with him in June 2007, however that didn't succeed either. i'm not loosing faith or giving up because I've got 8 more frozen embroyos waiting for me :) Having said that, it was difficult not to feel discourage when I get invitation to my relatives baby one month old celebration or friends who are pregnant withtheir second child.

Anyway, I was contemplating whether to proceed with the cycle this month since my menses just arrive. But decided to give myself a break and start next month instead.

All I can say is, don't give up or looses faith (I know it's easier said than done!)sometimes the more you want it, the more things dont happen.

To Jade : chuck away all those ovulation kit and BT! Just switch off your 'baby making' button and enjoy your ML with your husband.

having read about your situation, glad to know that you have been with Dr LC Cheng.

Actually for my stage now, is my 1st cycle on clomid with Dr Cheng. Now in CD21 today. By the way, I need to find out from you how you got to know that you have PCOS? I am quite curious about it, cos Dr Cheng din mention about it (or maybe cos I never ask)

I find that you are very optimistic about the whole situation. For myself, I hope that I dont need to go through SO-IUI and IVF/ICSI program though..... Really really crossing my fingers.... cos one of it is the cost that is need to see Dr Cheng as well as the cost of all the treatment....

For my clarification, did u tried on clomid and how long or how many cycles you have went through before u proceeded with SO-IUI? And also the SO-IUI is only for 1 cycle then will need to proceed with IVF/ICSI program?

Although I know that Dr Cheng told me that my ovaries have multiple follicles.... But he din tell me whether will it have PCOS condition (immature/unripen eggs)? How would I know whether I will have PCOS anot...

I've made an appt with EverSpring ... 1st time i heard about this TCM ... recommended by my husband's client ... who got 2 children by going to Dr Tan BG for treatment ...

Will try this TCM out !!
