(2015/05) May 2015 Mummies

Hello! Did any of you received any confirmation after registering for the cord life seminar this Saturday? I registered but didn't receive anything.

TMC recommended to take this class after 20 weeks. I have registered antenatal class started in Feb next month. But actually when I saw the schedule, they only held one session in Feb, then the remaining session will be held in March. So it will be ended end of March. My EDD end of April. Hopefully will not forget the tips during labour later on.
going for the same one! :) at least same period... really very long but ok lah... since most lessons are about childcarre rather than pregnancy care.
I want to get the holey shirts too. Hubby wants bb to wear and take a photo in same position as him when he was small.
the holey shirts look super duper comfy... bb will not catch a cold right?
llao llao is well-known frozen yogurt....havent tried before but long q and their outlets springing up everywhere recently...
i'm just waiting for the fad to be over so no need to queue... hehe
Anyone start to have leg cramps?
Mine started.
at night?

it says you'll get a reminder the day before...

Anyone considering getting U shape pillow? Is there anywhere selling other than amazon?

I was given the u shape pillow by my sis in law, but somehow it wasnt that comfortable and to me, does not support my tummy. In the end, I use the pillow to help raise my legs during sleeping as to prevent leg cramps.

For support, I actually use small bean bags that I bought from daiso. One for my tummy and one for my back.

Anytime of the day.

My hubby say cause previously I lack of exercise. ......
is it the way you're sitting? e.g. if you cross your legs, or sit in a fixed position for an extended period of time? Try to move around more frequently... no need too vigorous exercise since now preggy ler must be careful... but move around just to get your blood circulating well... and if you feel cramps coming, then start stretching... that should help prevent it from getting worse too

Holey shirts - so old school and perfect for our weather haha! I will try searching at my old thread when im using my laptop for the address of the shop.

I cant really cross my legs anymore due to the bump, very uncomfortable. Quite unglam nowadays with the way I sit. But calf area have been feeling very achey, I sense my leg cramps coming soon :( will try to massage them before sleep every nite first.

Bb been moving a lot till quite uncomfortable for me. Maybe coz #1 don't move so much, this #2 can really move whole day.

Experienced leg cramp for the first time few days ago when I tried to stretch my legs in bed. Now I don't dare to stretch my legs when I start to rouse. However the achy feeling in my calf persist no matter how I massage. Further on have been down with runny nose n cough these few days makes me feel like a wreck.

Me too. Getting more frequent leg cramps these 2 weeks. My leg can't even straighten, and the leg muscle is super pain. I know mine nt because of lack calcium or cold legs, cause I have been taken calcium pills ever since i got pregnant, and I wearing socks when sleeping. So i'm nt sure what cause myeg cramp

Same here! When I try to stretch after I wake up, the calf area like wanna cramp... so scary...
The pain is unbearable when I had it during #1. Really can do nothing but scream out loud.

I feel you, me only jus recovered fr flu n cough ( twice over the past mth!) and the feeling is really weak and helpless. The weather is not helping too, so hot then suddenly rains. Take care and drink lots of water. Take vit C too!

Mummies, what are the recommended mattress for baby? Any advice?
i'm thinking of getting the 3 fold mattress from seahorse. $19.90 only and storage is easy. let baby sleep there during the day. at night im still thinking. maybe getting the podster from Amazon.

Hahhaha... fat fingers!!

I can get leg cramps too when I wore certain shoes. That cld be a reason as well. Now I can only put on my crocs that give me the extra comfort for ny heels especially. Need to get a new pair soon as the feet is showing signs of them getting bigger.

Do we need latex mattress for baby cot bed?

I don't intend to get latex coz the mothercare cot I bought came with a basic mattress which is good enough I think. I know latex is recommended for the air ventilation so baby won't get sweaty. If the cot u are getting comes with the option to top up for it and price reasonable, no harm getting...

I also heard latex is good...

my cousin-in-law recommend me to soak feet in bath salt. she said it will help with cramp.but i haven try that out though.

Try soaking in warm white vinegar foot bath ( warmer if you like but Not Hot sugessed by TCM Dr. )
Helps improve your blood circulation to your legs . Hope this helps . Take care

What a quiet week on this thread...

I finally did my detailed scan. I think I'm probably the last in this thread to do the scan lol. Everything is normal and confirmed baby is a girl! So happy and relieved!

Mothercare baby fair happening next weekend and deals are up on their eNewsletter liao. Saw a few good deals but too bad not their vip so going when the store is open to public and hoping things are not sold out by then.

congrats! it's always great news when doctor tells you everything is well and normal. :) I saw the newsletter too.. $499 for medela freestyle. super cheap for a locally-sold set! but limited to 20 sets only. think will be snapped up very fast unless go early and queue up.

Anyone going to next week baby fair? Saw a lot of promotion but don't know if the things sell in the fair really cheaper than outside?

I'm going! :) Didn't want to chiong with crowds initially but decided to brave just 1 fair this time since I've some friends going together with me.

The newsletters links or deal details can be found on mothercare and the baby fair fb pages...
I'm sure it's cheaper than normal retail for the advertised deals.

I'm curious about the spectra deal for S1 at Suntec baby fair though. Not sure if I have energy to go brave the crowd at Suntec...

Thanks! Yes so relieved to know all is normal. Feels like another milestone achieved..haha.
Now looking forward to grow the baby to ideal weight and weeks and meet the little one!

I am going to the fair at suntec as well. Kinda prepared a shopping list of what to get. Dont think after cny will have the energy to go out and get more things. Am sure the nesting period will start during that time also.

Can anyone share checklist? I search online and found this.. is it good enough or overkill?

http://newparent.com/baby/new-baby-checklist
Oh my .. Such a long list .. Fyi lots on the list is not needed for Singapore weather .. Those hooded towel is a waste of $$, not very practical . Don't forget , baby grows very quickly . Other mom's pre-loved items is good enough for 1st few months .
Good luck ladies
Wish you Swift and safe delivery.

I'm going for mine this Wednesday. So I'm probably the last? Haha. Someone mention NUH can offer 3D/4D image for free? Do I have to ask for it?

I hope the space to walk is wide so it wont look that crowded. Imagine us with the tummies and other mummies with prams, it sure will be jam packed. I can only go on either sat or sun. Hope there are still a lot of things and not so crowded. I cringed everytime I think abt the crowd tho.

I had done my detailed scan last week at NUH... after the nurse did the detail scanning & measuring, she did a 4D image photo shot of my baby front view... I can see her face and she's putting her hand in her mouth. :D
the printout given is only black and white...

I'll be going for both mothercare baby fair and the suntec baby world fair this week.... not sure i can squeeze myself in... also not sure i can stand & walk for hours there... normally i felt tired easily.
I'm preparing my shopping list now... it's my first baby... so lots of things to get for her. :)

Wow look like all mummy will be at baby fair hahaha...
I also going because i think can get all things that we need in 1 shot! I have list down what to buy like : baby crib, folding bath tub, breast pump, ect!
