i juz managed to get a CL.. recommended by friend, dunno good anot.. she didn't tell me what to buy/prepare for confinement leh.. did ur CL give u a list of things to buy/prepare?? i'm kinda confused & stressed out now coz didn't get a CL for my first confinement.. :S

Mine is $80 + $70 like that... So total is about $150.. And additional for med... Quite a lot of gynae spilt the scan and consultation... Btw is your a senior experienced doc? Mine is a senior doc so her price is higher...

Hihi. Not to worry. Just get whatever u like and auntie is suppose to work her magic with what she has.. and at the same time when she is here, she will inform ur hub what to buy. Don't stress ya

Do you get the NT result on the spot or only together wth the blood test report?

eh I got no idea.. how to tell whether senior or not? she's operating her own pte clinic, so shld be senior ba?

I know the NT result on the spot (gynae scan then tell me what's the reading & good or not), but the OSCAR ratio is suppose to be a combination of your NT result, blood test, age, etc. don't recall receiving any report. the clinic staff juz call me to inform the ratio & whether high/low risk one wk after the last visit. will ask again at next visit at the end of this mth.

actually I think u shld juz wait for the harmony test result as it's suppose to be more accurate, don't scare urself unnecessarily. also some clinics take 2wks for OSCAR results, faster by 1 wk only leh.

I was tempted to take the harmony test coz more accurate & can know gender somemore. but put off by the high cost.

The gender part doesnt really matter to me, I am more concerned with the health of the developing little one. We decided to do oscar next visit, and since result will be out in a week's time where we can still be in time to do harmony if need be.

Just couldnt wait to know things are progressing ok.

Praying daily for HIS mercy and grace. :)

mine took a week to come back....

after this round of oscar, nxt test will be detailed scan....hope can confirm gender soon & start my shopping list....whahaha

Yes mudpie.. I was so surprise they call so fast... And I am glad that everything was fine.. Cos I really can't sleep that night after the test...

Think what is important is as long as you are comfortable with the gynae and the location is easy for you to access.

I am doing my Oscar test coming Wed, 12 Feb in TMC. Gynae told me will know the result the next day too.

My eyes are super big when i see the price of the test. So I decide to do OSCAR scan first. Only when result isn't good, then I will go ahead for harmony. Gynae say usually just choose one, which ever you are comfortable with.

Hahaha! Same! When my Gynae told me the price of harmony, I immediately told him I want to do Oscar without a doubt!

yeah same.. but it was my hb who say do the OSCAR test first, then do harmony test if need be.. if he let me decide, i might juz go with the harmony test since it's much more accurate.. hahah..

IF I remember correctly, my gynae told me it cost 1k+ close to 2k.
The reason why it is so expensive because your blood test is send to USA and it is 99% accurate.
However they only take your blood test and no scan.
 
Yes, we opted to do oscar next Tuesday. Shall ask when we can get result back. I think TMC is fast coz they hv own lab for tests.

My gynae's at mt e, not sure where blood sample will be sent to for tests.

Harmony test costs $2400 so we tot to do oscar first and see how it goes. Mainly coz I couldn't wait for 3 weeks for the results.

Pray all will go well.

MY gynae mentioned it is sent to UK (london?)
Super expensive air ticket for a tube of blood .. haha

Just curious... why need to do Oscar liao then do harmony?
 
Hopefully thee isn't a need for harmony, I.e. Oscar turns out ok. Harmony only if oscar shows high risk, as I didn't want to do amnio.

Yeap. . Usually the tech is very professional. . They go through one by one showing you everything they scan and ensuring measurement are normal and u kind of know the result on the spot. .
 
I just got my Oscar test results. Blood test was OK but NT scan is not within the normal range. This makes me in the "grey zone". Gynae say not totally low risk but not high enough to recommend amniotic test. So its up to us to decide want to test further or not. At a loss....

the harmony test is non-invasive & an alternative to amniotic test. can consider if u r really worried.

I also dunno leh. hahah. I went to her for my first pregnancy (ended in mc) coz clinic near my place. went back to her for 2nd pregnancy (successful one) coz she has records of my first mc. went back to her again this pregnancy coz she has all my past records & overall past experience was not too bad, except the $$ part. hahah.
 
Shrileyten, am in week 13 now. Harmony test also gives probability and not a real result of down or not hence we feel it is quite pointless...
 
Didy, I believe u r in the more optimistic grey area as tech told me when I had my scan, nasal bone is a good indication of low risk. I didn't know the measurement but according to web, 3mm is considered normal. 0.1 is really close. Be positive. I believe detailed scan will reveal the everything. For now, just keep the positivity and don't stress out ok.

hmm.. I was told by my gynae that harmony test gives the real result, yes/no kind of answer.. not very sure..

A friend swears by topicrem. She is almost due and no stretch marks. There is a spree thread on smh forum. I bought two bottles there. It is recommended by PD for children eczema. Guess if it is good for kids it's good for adult too. :)
 
Hi all, hope I'm not too late to join. Expecting my first .. tested in early Jan and EDD is 30th August :) will be a first time mummy, hope more experienced mummies can help guide me along
