Don worry dear... A bit of alcohol is ok... Gynae even told me if wan to go for social drinking like 1 wk one glass is ok de... So don worry ya... Enjoy ur pregnancy!
 


Hmm.. Usually package starts from 16th week isst? Cos I am still paying my doc per visit. Gonna ask him abt package in the next visit. What is the usual rate?

How's everyone? Hopefully as time goes, everyone will be enjoying the progress! :)
Been a long time since my last visit to my gynae... waited for a month!! and next week then I will see my gynae... time is sooooo long.
even though this is my #2, I am still very eager to see the little one. :)
Definitely this little one is not making a smooth journey for me, as my MS still continue, my appetite still very low... Hopefully, it will pass soon!

Enjoy the process, esp those who are heading for OSCAR scan this or next week! Jia you everyone!!!!!

My gynae used to charge about $600 (that is about 2 years ago?), but this year his charges increased to $800 (OMG!!!) and these exclude all the additional tests and medication ....
Usually his package starts once 2nd trimester is here.

mine increase from $1250 to $1800 lo. sigh.... :(
 
I went for Oscar scan today at tmc and indeed they asked me to drink a lot of water while waiting.

I felt the same in the past week.. My symptoms are more or less gone and felt tummy was a bit smaller so was very worried if baby was ok in the tummy. But today at the Oscar scan I saw how active my baby is makes me really relived and happy. So I guess as long as no bleeding and no pains everything shld be fine.

I am also 11 week this week.
The nauseous and metallic taste seems to increase past 2 weeks. :(
 
Me me!! When I told my friends abt my pregnancy after 3rd mth, the first thing the experienced mummies ask was if I booked my confinement nanny liao. So was quite kiasu and booked one before cny.

I'm with kkh and when I went to do my blood tests, the nurses told me first trimester is end of 12 weeks.. so 13 weeks onwards would be second trimester..

How come ur check up doesn't involve ultrasound scan? And how much ur gynae charge u? So what they do?
 
I booked my confinement lady when I was 8 weeks. $2300. Luckily I booked early because she told me 1 week later that a mummy who she did confinement for first baby is asking her to do confinement for second baby and edd just 2 weeks after mine. Good confinement lady must book fast, they r snapped up very quickly
 
Mummies anyone using clarins stretch mark control cream? Care to share the application method? I so blur went to throw the box away without reading the application method stated inside the box!
 
Hello guys.. turned 12 weeks today.. just had a scan yest n baby's was beating hard..*relief+happiness Hope for good n happy news for all of u too! Im also having d metallic taste.. its quite bad that I haf a bottle kept with me to spit out my saliva =(
 
Have qns.. 1) do u think its ok to drink tea every day? This metallic taste is making me depressed n a daily cup of my fav tea wld really be great.. currently I limit myself to 1 a cup 4 times a week.. I heard tea has cooling properties... sigh* 2) I was given fish oil supplement by kkh whc contained tuna. Im puzzled cos ive been avoiding my fav tuna cos I thought it contained mercury. 3) I heard Neurogain is a supplement n can b used to replace dha fish oil.. can I just take that or do I take w obimin.
 
My gynae told me to avoid tea and coffee because of its caffeine property. My friend's gynae say one cup a day is fine. I try to avoid until I really cannot take it. My gynae gives neurogain.. so im taking that everyday
 
I'm having migraine and wondering if it is safe to use medicated plaster. It works for me each time I get migraine but now that I'm pregger, I'm concerned of the effect medicated plaster might hv. I normally use tokuhon (old man's label) medicated plaster, the white color patch.

Any idea?

I know we hv to avoid mentholatum due to camphor content, and maybe even tiger balm medicated plaster for muscle ache.

Reporting here!! My edd is on 3rd Sep but i highly suspect will be a Aug baby!! This is my #2. Came as a shocker as i am still bf my #1 and my post partum period hasnt haven visited yet!!! OSCAR on the 18th!! Cant believe its happening again!!

i did US scan at every visit, just that my gynae charges extra for it.. i paid abt $250+ per visit, $80 consultation + $120 US scan + $50+ supplements.. but i think some gynae doesn't charge extra for the US scan, as in $80-100 per visit for both consultation & US scan?? so wondering if it's cheaper because it's juz scan & go, no photos/pics to keep?

my gynae say avoid using any medicated plaster (ru yi oil as well) coz not very safe, dunno what's the content & the content not controlled, etc.. whatever we use now goes into the baby..

my gynae say can avoid, avoid la, coz of the caffeine content.. but if really cannot, like me, i'm a strong coffee drinker (usually 2-3 cups a day), then max max 1 cup a day & tea will be better than coffee..
 
initially can't decide whether to book CL.. now like abit late.. most of the CLs i called are already booked..

Wow.. That's really ex. I pay abt $90+ per visit which includes consultation and scan which I get to keep. Supplements are given once so far and will replenished when I am finished with it. My doc has no package though and the reason is that most ppl did not take it up cos it adds up to be the same for non package. Was thinking of switching doc because I wanted to save cost but after calculation I realized it is only a difference of $200-300 dollars. And decided to stick with same doc.

Hi Sherloo, how much is an Oscar test? I am going for Harmony Test which takes 3 weeks for results to be out, and contemplating doing oscar at the same time. That way I can get oscar results back first. Oscar results take less than 3 weeks I reckon?

I also agree that yours very expensive. My gynae charge me $120+ for consultation and US scan (that was the price before I took up their package). And when he have the photo for the US scan, he will print 1 more for me to keep and he keep the other 1 for himself inside my file.

Does your gynae also keep 1 photo of the US to file it in ur record?

I cant remember the price, i think its in the region of $200+ to $300+.... results ard 2wks i think.... What is a Harmony test? It might be the same thing?

ya same. one to file, one for me to keep. I also find it super ex. but abit troublesome to change at this pt in time. :(

my NT/blood test (aka OSCAR) cost abt $240+. results back in 1 week.
 

wah for once my gynae actually charges cheaper!.. hahah.. the NT test was done by the gynae herself & blood test was also taken at her clinic thou.. paid a total of $550+ for that visit.. $250+ for normal visit + $250+ for the NT/blood test..
