@#2: I also thought it was really early but now thats its dome, I do feel more relieved that this is out of the way..

Anyway today's Mind Your Body is on prenatal screening in trimester 1. For those who have not gone for your oscars or NT, can read up. It's quite informative esp on testing for DS in babies.

@sychosis: My Gyn has package starting from 12wks. But i know some popular gyn dont do packacge they charge by per session which is quite exp. But as long as baby & U comfortable with your Gyn they all ok. The more valua for money i find is Dr Lawrence Ang. His package very value for money. But as #1 with Dr Wong so I continue with her for #2.



@Mareike: No worry, will pray for baby & U that all ok. Remember dont empty your bladder before the scan.



On Taka bb fair: The discount not reallly great as they are about the same as Robinson, OG, etc sales. But good is alot of brands there so you can see all at one go. But Pigeon BPA bottles having trade in for old bottles at 50% discount. I just changed for 6 bottles using #1 old bottles.



On BB fair expo this Friday, saw in papers, really like alot of stalls. Mayb will check it out if have time. But now so early I really dont know what to buy yet. Hope Jun still have BB fairs

 
@pooh, i usually feel very breathless after puking. last night just puked my dinner out.



@ simbaobao & pooh, once in a blue moon, i feel like suddenly got bubbles popping in my womb area. don't know if that is considered movements?



virgomtb, my SIL highly recommend perfect mum to me to get maternity clothes. maybe you can consider that? me still very lazy to shop for clothes. hahahh...

i noticed my tummy seems much less bloated this week. is it common for the bloatedness to subside from wk 12 onwards?



also, my left hand feels abit numb since morning. wondering what is wrong.

 
mareike: i also puke sometimes.. drink some warm water after puke, maybe you will feel better..

bubbles might be due to bb hands and legs moving.. i can feel the bubbles always.. ask my hb to listen, he can hear some sound..

 
Pooh - me me! My nose is runny in the day and totally blocked at night. Fever on and off, highest only ard 37.4 and usually in the noon. Sore throat gets really bad at night and I started coughing out phlegm with blood traces. Went back to doc yday and he gave me a low dosage of antibiotics, and extended MC.



Pommes - you take care too! Think it's flu virus, heard another few pax in my office are down too.

 
@Mareike: I also experienced bubbles popping at times but not sure if its my tummy or the bb..., Good luck for the oscar test! My tummy will bloat sometimes and smaller sometimees, I guessed its normal..., Can you keep me posted once you checked the parts for the medela pump? My friend is giving hers to me...,



@p00h: I have blocked nose too, but I wonder if its due to my sinus as I have this even pre-p...,

Plus prenatal vits & standard blood/urine tests.

Detailed scan at hospital is not included. Other optional tests also not included.

#2: Yours is really value for money! Oh I realized yours is monthly visits..., but cover prenatal vits is really good, as the fish oils are usually ex!~

 
Mrs Wong & Blossoms, yes, scanning at every visit (doesn't matter is v-scan or ab scan).



I'm not sure if cover fish oil cos I prefer to take my own ones...



Mine is fornightly for first tri, monthly for 2nd tri, then fornightly/weekly for 3rd tri.



There are cheaper packages (Dr Woody's is $550 I think). Even my gynae's package at his other clinic is cheaper ($650) but I hate the long queue there :p

 
can i ask, for the oscar scan, as long as the result is more than 1:300, it means bb is healthy or lower risk? or the result should be less than 1:300 to be considered lower risk? can anyone advise me?

i paid less than 600. Covering all my consultants from first visit till the post-natal visit after birth. With prenatal vits and std urine tests and i think 1 blood test done by my gynae.



oscar and detailed scan not included. Other optional tests also not included.

 
Ya, Christine reminded me. My package includes 2 postnatal checks at clinic (1 week after birth and another when the lochia cleared).

I remembered first visit after delivery, he got do a scan to check that uterus shrink back & no big clots/placenta left behind.

 
Hmm... I feel I'm paying so much more than what you are paying! My gynae doesnt offer package and each visit costs more than S$100. (S$50 for consultation and S$50 for ultrasound scan) Any gynae with reasonable package at AMK area?

now i keep telling bb must cooperate and show sonographer later that he/she is a healthy bb. hope it will work.



should have schedule the scan earlier. my appt is at 4++. now really feeling very jittery and feels that time is passing soooo slowly. argh...

 
Yes. Where are you going for your Oscar Test? I did mine at TMC and only got the results a few days after the test from my gynae. Don't worry, everything will be fine. Be positive!

I just got my OSCAR result last monday, my bb is ok, it's 1:5520..



Last monday got bleeding at my lower part, see my gynae and he gave me 4 days mc to rest at home and gave me some an tai yao.. After few days rest, now is better ady..

Yesterday i just vomited out the whole DHA pill with my breakfast just a litte while after i've swallowed it..

 
how come ur dha smell like fish. mine no fishy smell at all. cannot even feel any before or after taste.

Mine is Prolacta with DHA which contained

214mg DHA

20mg EPA

10mg vitamin E which i get from my gynae.



Also my gyane is personally doing the oscar test for me. why u all have to go another hospital to do? is sonographer capable of interpreting? i dun think so right. is like x ray pple only take x ray. they are not authorized to interpret the results.

 
Am drinking honey water now. There's this girl sitting in front of me in office. Her cough started from end Feb until now... still haven't recover. I so scare she infects me.



RE: Fish Oil

My hubby told me to eat with food. So I take one mouth of food, then next mouth, eat the DHA pill. Works for me. No smelly fishy burp after that. If I can't, then I eat straight after a meal.

Rumi.... sonographers are more highly trained than gynae in using and interpreting results from u/s...

Gynae is know more on obgyn...

sonographer is specialised in doing u/s and interpreting results...



Alot of doctors rely on them to give them the scan report which states which is normal and which needs special attention...

mrs wong, i will be doing at kkh. they alr took my blood at wk 9. so the nurses told me today after doing the u/s, they can tell me on the spot the results.



joey, thanks. congrats, your results is so good. hope i can get similar good results later. what brand is your fish oil? mine is natal plus care and totally no smell, big but easy to swallow.



pommes, try not to drink too much honey. i read that honey can cause bb after born to have phlgem.

ohh i read my gyane profile she is accredited by the Fetal Medicine Foundation to do Nuchal Translucency Scan for First Trimester Screening for Down Syndrome, I think that why no need to go another place to do.



i going my ds screening again next week. i did last week but i thibnk i didnt have enuff water so trying again next week.

 

Pommes: me too... i find hot honey lemon very soothing nowadays.. had it once outside at some restaurant then i liked it so much i went to buy lemon to make it with my honey at home..
