Morning mummies!



Just finishing seeing e ENT specialist. E doc said his ear drum looks ok, just e outer ear wall is hurt [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif] aiyo, A & E doc told us got a hole, scare e hell out of us, super jia lat -.- anyway they did hearing test for him, but bcos he was having hiccup, so e test was only border line pass, nid to re-do e test in 2 months. Viman: Ur baby can crawl already? I went to the BP site to see quite exp, think just let him crawl in his tiny playpen in future. Haha.



vicki: Did u buy the disposable sachets? Quite useful to me, dun have to bring the big milk containers. Just the sachets will do, easy to pour too.



Mimosa: Yeah! I'm happy for u. I rem the nurse told me baby have to be still when doing the hearing test so hiccup will affect the result a little. My baby was crying when doing the test and the nurse have to carry him and stop him from crying. Now u can enjoy ur xmas and ur m'sia trip!



I didn't have a good slp again! When I went to bed my husband was snoring, when he finally stopped snoring, baby cried, when baby stopped crying and husband stopped snoring, I was happy and counted sheeps. Then baby cried again and husband snored again!!! In the end at 2am I went to the sofa to slp and its so cold in the living room even with the windows closed and no fan.

Crawl? LOL! Haven't event flipped yet leh! But she rotates and slides quite a bit these days and I am wondering if she will suddenly flip and crawl one day, so better to put her inside the play yard already. Viman: I tot ur gal is crawling so u wanted to buy the play yard. Its good if she dun flip so fast. Its very hard to change diapers. My boy always flip when he has lotsa poo on his butt. Have to wipe him quickly before he flips back and gets all the poo back on himself. Haha.



But ur gal can sit on her own already rite?

 
thats great news for u, mimosa! so u can enjoy the gathering later (eh its now actually!), and go fox shop shop! haha... w littlefly ard, sure can shop till u drop!!

jenny/viman, my bb oso doesnt know how to crawl yet.. but he can sit on his own pretty well lar. as for flipping, well, he lazy bum, he doesnt like to do that. my mil always say this in hokkien, "7 sit 8 crawl 9 talk", so i guess its normal that they dunno how to sit b4 7 mth old?

 
haha it seems like only got 3 of us here at this time. maybe later when mummies come back fr the gathering, then only will have more ppl to chat here...

 
Viman/Mickey: Good leh, my baby cun even sit yet. =( My boy has already turned 7 mths. Yest I dreamt he was able to sit already. See, such thing also must dream then can see. He only want to sit when he is not supposed to do it like when drinking milk or in his bouncer. Other than that I trained him to sit he doesn't want to.



My mum says my baby is slow, his back also abt 1 mth ago then stable. Previously when carry him upright is very unstable. But he flipped very fast, at 2m+ he can flip already.

 
maybe for certain milestones, bb will reach some of them faster, but some of them slower? eg. my bb doesnt know how to flip at 2 mo for sure. but his back probably quite stable since 4 mo? so its hard to compare ar...



but one thing for sure, my bb likes to sit on the playmat instead of the floor? u make him sit on the floor huh?

 
MickeY: I let him sit on the floor, sofa and on bed, all no use. He's very kpo will look around and try to grab things around him so ended up falling sideways.

 
jenny, my gal oso will end up falling sideway.. she oso cannot sit str8 on her play mat.. need to use her hand support frm front... aft a while head too heavy will lean to one side... then pop fall..

are u still bf your baby? If yes, you can latch on your baby when the plane is taking off and landing. If not, you can give your baby milk or water. No need to worry, i bring my baby when she's about 3 months to travel [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif] and so far ok with her when the plane is touching down and taking off

Salute u mommies who brin bb sit plane. Hb was jokin luckily I didn't brin any kids along cos I had slight motion sickness on plane & he was laughing at me.imagine wif a cryin bb.ya latch n d pressure in their ear will lessen.if not bf,let them suck pacifier or drink water on/off

 
Hayashi: I'm very worried for my boy, if slower is ok but scare dunno what's wrong. Maybe I worry too much.



vicki: Can latch baby when take off? I rem must put baby on the baby's seat (dunno whats that called) when plane takes off.

bringing baby on plane: When i brought bb to thailand, I just force him to latch on and lull him to sleep, but when plane landing, he made quite a fuss. We kept giving him something to suck and "pressing " ear but he just wriggle and cry, but after 15 mins, sleep...

 
jenny.. is call bassinet.. i thk.

ya.. i know can let her drink milk or water.. but the thing is she not a good drinker.. she rather suck her toy.. her hand.. her socks.. then a btl or pacifier.. faint....



i do hope tomolo trip will be a smooth one.. since she will knock out at 7pm... lol...

jenny... diff bb reaches diff milestone.. mine is quite close... except the sitting part.. lol.. i slowly put her on a mat.. and guess she figure out another purpose of hand is to support her to sit.. instead of sucking it.. hahaha

Daphne: Wow ur baby is really fast! Mine is trying to learn to crawl but still cun crawl yet.

 
Daphne: same here with my boy, he enjoys standing and never seemed to crawl steadily. But recently he has shown more interest in crawling, though he enjoy leanning on the sofa/cot/my body and stand...



Hayashi: we also let him suck our finger cuz I'm against pacifier, and its painful cuz he's already teething and he bites!

Do u face any oroblems with ur ex Dubai maid? I really scared to hire nxt one now. Seems like we can't handle maid well like tat.



My bb vomit a few times last night n told her to get a floor cloth wipe the vomit on floor. She took the bb's face hanky to wipe the floor! Is it me or her? Isn't it common sense?..she couldn't undersrd at all n she has been coughing away n lots of phlegm since She 1st come.



I couldn't help but want to blame her. 2nights ago I asked if she's sick, must tell, we bring c doc. She said no, 'bring fr indomitable ac ac' I gave up asking. Last night calledagnt asked her. He said she was sick in indo, now better. Agent started saying they hv tests n ok one etc etc. That babies r like tat. Sick bring c doc then ok Liao. Come on, my bb so far touch wood ok n past wk nv go out so who's the culprit?? So infuriating. Tell me gals, is it me or them?



Tell me gals, he said can only return 1-2mths later. I checked ctr after 30days can return. She came on 14 dec night. So can I start looking fir new one thru other agents now? Old one jus return agent can Liao?



My bb coughing, flu n fever + lots of phglem now. How to reduce phlegm? Cam bb drink barley or green bean?

 
Novi.. i brought her baby bites.. like biscuits, but she no teeth.. u thk she be able to bite? hahaha.. can bring to plane or not the biscuits?

better you return your new maid to the agent and start looking for new one from different agent. Your maid still has a loan or not? if yes, try check with your agent how much money the agent can return to you

baby bites is ok, coz it will melt on. My baby also no teeth yet but she can eat pigeon rice crackers one.

can bring baby biskuit and water also inside the cabin.

Normally i bring a lot of biskuit if traveling with kids., even i let my #1 bring his own water bottle and so far always can get thru the security check

 
east gathering: hope to have at east... also easier for me to join, haha!



Mummyzen: I'm also against pacifier, but my MIL give to my gal she said suck hand.. next time the hand no nice... but luckly she only need it when slping sometime dun need also can slp...

 
novi, my trip to kl was a busy one. sat busy w the game preparation, then sat morning actual day, evening attend the dinner... finally mon, had a good dinner w my parents... i didnt have time to meet my frens at all. but yes, managed to shop for some cny clothes for my boys. so not a bad trip ya... and oso fetch my #1 back le... long time nvr hv him at home, he's really very noisy, talking non-stop to didi, haha..

bunnymum, vicki mentioned got this chinese med called 'gao cho San' can reduce the phlegm, u may wanna try it out?



ya barley n green bean are liang stuff, cant drink much.



phlegm: for me, recently bbsitter observed this. when bb takes the frozen ebm, he will have phlegm easily and sometimes will vomit. but if its ebm, then not much prob. do u ladies observe this too?

Last time my agent said as per new mom law, if we dun wan this maid (3.5k), we will forfeit the whole loan Amt. I checked with other agents, no such law. As long as maid has new employer, can pass on the loan to someone else.

 
then maybe u can try 'gao cho san'? for me, i do give bb eu yan sang's 'bao ying dan'... according to my bbsitter, it does help in reducing the phlegm...

 
they have this pearl powder sellin in chinese medical shop.. it helps in reducing phlegm and teethin pain.. at first i have doubts.. but then my mother been putting across her gums in small amt.. seems to work...

 
ohya i also ask my bbsitter to do that using the 'bao ying dan', it helps to ease the teething pain.

Jenny eh I nt sure abt takin off/landin but I tot I hear when seatbelt sign is on,suppose to brin bb out fr bassinet? Or suppose to b other way.previously I brin my son to Penang,no bassinet.only a extra belt to tie him to us.



Hayashi,as long as got d chewing motion (jaws movement),d pressure will b off ears so even if suck fingers bite socks also ok as long as they r comfy. Btw my gal tho I force pacifier on her still prefer her thumb. Do beware cos d teeth bite til d thumb red red n skin comin off.she finally willin to switch thumb. I m now worried her thumb will b deformed [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/sad.gif] my gal everything slow except d teeth superman rate. 6 teeth,tell me again y m I still struggling on to quit/not to quit for bfding haha

 
I'm sick just now =( Not enough sleep, I ended up with giddiness. Tried to slp when baby naps but cun slp, in the end went to vomit. When baby woke up, I put him beside him and gave him his pacifier and grabbed him by the arm so that he cun flip while I rest a while.



hayashi: I also want to toilet train my baby already but he still cun sit. So have to wait.



Novi: Yest I let my baby eat a puff and he choked on it coz he shallowed immediately, nv let the puff melt in his mouth.



vicki: Not very sure leh. Coz that time I not pregnant, just happened to saw the instruction abt the bassinet, if not wrong is must place baby on it.

 
Bunnymum: We did face a crisis 3 months back when our maid got a call from home. She's estranged from her hubby and hadn't seen her kids for ~3 years since leaving for Dubai, she didn't even visit them when she went back philipines before coming here. They told her her son was sick and her daughter was begging her to go home. So she wanted to leave for home... We didn't see the point of making her stay if she wasn't willing so we said she could when she finish her 1/2 yr loan term. Then we stressed about hiring a new one of course, and the additional expenditure. However eventually sense won over heart and she decided to stay after I offered her a trip home next March to attend her daughter's graduation. She said she didn't want to go home empty handed with no $$. Now a few months later, she still has her ups and downs because of the domestic issues. The latest development from her: she wants to seperate from her hubby and she's thinks she better not go back in March. Sigh... I already got her the tic... Anyway all's in my favour, so long as she's not thinking of leaving me in the lurch I'm taking things easy.



Anyway back to her vs us... I think I"m pretty relax, since so far I think she has the right attitude. Real affection for my boi, doing her work and not cutting corners, no going behind me back, etc. I don't pick so much on small details maybe because my hubby does. I've also started allowing her to get a prepaid card and we actually just helped her get a laptop (Hubby got a 2nd hand in office ballot.) so she can do her IM and FB. I do see the faintest signs of the usual maid issues, like my mum telling me she's busy at the SMS in the afternoon. But I'm the optimistic sort so I allow her the freedom to manage work vs leisure. I've told her if she breaches the trust, then she will put me in the position of putting down rules. So she better take note not to go into that territory.

puff should give to baby when they can sit and can crawl or they can learn how to chew already. Because the puff is very small bites. Last time I gave puff for my #1 around 9 months++ though he can crawl since 6 mos+ already. You can try baby bites or pigeon rice cracker and can cut into small pieces.

yes got baby sunblock. You can find in Aussie..there a lot of baby items than in SG. SG only have certain brand.

 


Bunnymum,

why you not try to get transfer maid instead of fresh maid? Not all transfer maid is bad..maybe you can find one here in this forum..got transfer maid section, you can meet the maid and interview her on the spot. From there, you can see what kind of the maid you'll be hire.
