hi grumpus,

thanks for the info. i didnt take it for my elder boy too..so im wondering if i should for my younger boy now. but after reading your post i think i will let him take it as my boy is attending a full time day care center. [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

btw, did u take the rotavirus too? its oral for babies.

elekos,

i think both also can. can check with your clinic nurse.

Ilovemiffy,

Yup took the rotavirus for both girls. Since it's oral, painless didn't really consider too much when pd recommend they take it.

grumpus,

thanks, i will let bb take the rotavirus too..

im just kancheong that take 2 vaccination at one time will stress the bb.. [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/sad.gif] i heard some even don't wana drink milk after the vaccination [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/sad.gif]

My boy took hep b + 5in1 + rota at the same time....pneumococcus not yet.

Rota is oral one...so only one jab at the tigh [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

khloe take 5in1, pneumoccus and rotavirus on the same day, so both thigh and 1 oral. Heart pain the moment the nurse told me 2 jabs. But hubby say for the baby gd, pain also gotto tahan. So we go ahead with the suggestion. Khloe cry but after a while ok already..daddy kept playing with her, to distract her attention.

Hi mummies! I'm a silent reader of the thread and the sharing has been very informative

My girl is born 15 Jan. Would like to check with the mummies here if those who went for c sect is still seeing/experiencing the bruises near the incision area. I noticed new bruises at the sides of the area and slight pain when moving. Anyone having the same experience?

I got a Similac Stage 1 (below 6 months) 400g tin to sell. $10 - Retail Price $20+. brought it becos my baby doesn't seem to like the current brand but after brought it she drinks normally with her initial brand so totally didn't open this tin. Brand new. Please sms me if interested 97907481. Funds would be donated to ASD (Action for Singapore Dogs).

Any mummies know hw to relieve nasal congestion in babies? Hv been to a PD to suck out all the mucus last week but seems like it is back (can hear it when he breathes). Anyone Knows if rubbing vicks on the feet at night will help? Regular vicks?

Xiaopang: I just started work this week. I bot the pigeon sterilising tablets. I pump in office, then pop the parts into a container to sterilise. I will take it out just before I am about to pump again to dry them. Hope this helps!

Xiao Pang> I buy a big container (with lid) and put the botols in and pour hot boiling water. cover the lid and let it "steam" for a while. And thats it [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

or i sterlise it at home and put it in a zip lock bag and use it when at office.

Chelleybaby, yes rubbing vicks on the soles of the feet and wear socks works for decongesting. Not the regular vicks, it's vicks baby balsam. I bought a bottle from watsons on standby in case needed

ilovemiffy and Elekos, it's medisave. Papa and Mama can claim up to 300 each, ie total 600 for pneumoccocal and rotavirus..I did that at PD, not polyclinic

Hello... im from Aug thread... kind of panic cuz i still havent found a good confinement lady. Anyone can recommend me your confinement lady who is good?? Can PM me? Thank you so much..

hi chelleybaby,

Hope your baby is feeling better liao.

my gal also having heavy nose congestion. but PD did not attempt to suck the mucus out, juz gave nasal spray. we tried to pump out ourselves at home, but does not work at all. very heartpain to see baby having difficulty breathing especially during sleeping. [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/sad.gif]

Shall try the baby vicks when i got hold of it later.

Hi whisp,

my baby doesn't seem to be hving heartburn anymore (yay!), but he still throws up abt once a day. Sometimes it's sooo sticky like all the phlgem and sometimes it's just watery milk. But his nasal congestion seems quite bad, he keeps rubbing his nose and he snores when he sleeps! I heard tt having a humidifier in the room will help too.

hi chelleybaby,

my gal still throws up after feed, though not as bad as before. however, the recent stuffy nose, PD diagnoise that it may be due to reflux, thus back to the same medication but increase in dosage.

after taking the reflux medicine, the stuffy nose still there, in fact seems to have gotten worse .... sob sob...

Any mommy usk NUK Silico teats? selling off at $5 each

- NUK wide teats (silicon) 0-6months (1)

- NUK small teats (silicon)0-6months (1)

Just a side comment - mummies whoese bb don't like bottle feed, can try NUK/ Drs /Timmie Toppe as it was said their teats structure are more to a nipple. I got avent , medela and b free plus and my bb all don't like. Finally she accept NUK [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif] yah.. quite an investment.

Oh any mommies want Medela teats let me know. =) letting go. Never use before, brought it becos want the bottle to feed BM :p

Just feel like venting my anger!!! My gal always don't go to sleep on her own. She needs to be patted. Mil had difficulty getting her to sleep tonite. Then she blamed it on the mobile rotating toy I bought today. Said baby cannot watch that too long and they get startled and cannot sleep. ~ this is ridiculous!!! Plus we only test out on her for 15 mins only. Then secondly, think Mil is ru yi you biggest fanz. Everytime baby cries, she apply it. She apply direct onto her tummy instead of rubbing on the palms type. Really angry that she always trying to find fault when she cannot handle a crying baby.

flyingpig, babies tend to feel excited when they are introduced to new toys, which might disrupt their sleeping time. don't stimulate them with moving toys before their sleeping time. maybe your mil think she cries due to wind in tummy so keept applying. perhaps tell her that doctor advised not to use too much?

Ok, will take note that no stimulating toys before bedtime. Well, don't think she thought was wind in tummy. She just feel that baby will feel more comfy - she applied twice within 30 minutes. Haiz...

Yes whisp, I read somewhere tt stuffy nose makes them more prone to throwing up, esp if they hv a reflux issue. Hang in there, like grumpus says, they will outgrow it eventually! Maybe the next time u go back to the PD can ask for nasal drops, was prescribed tt to drip 1 drop per nostril every night to help him sleep better.

I started noticing that my baby skin below neck has red spots that look like diaper rash. Can I use desitin on other parts of body other than bum area?

Baby has difficulty sleeping, need to carry her upright in order for her to breath better.

Went to PD again this afternoon. Baby stuffy nose has turned into flu liao, was prescribed with nose congestion drop. Crossing my fingers and toes that baby will get better soon. I'm down with sore throat and fever, doctor said probably baby has passed the virus to mummy. I kept thinking it's only the adult passing virus to the kid, seems like I'm being ignorant.

Hi mummies

Sorry for gate crashing. But I have a really great deal to offer.

I have a Medela Swing (Singapore set) bgt last year. Currently still under warranty till Nov 2011. Used less than 5 times as I plan to use this whn I m outside. Bt in the end I didn't really use it cos my supply wasn't really fantastic. Letting go full set with original packaging at just $210. As gd as new, can't even tell it has bn used b4. To make the deal even more attractive and worthwhile for MTB, I will b throwing in a brand new pk of Huggies NB diapers at my own expense.

Grab it b4 its gone! PM mi for the unbeatable offer.

ivftwins,I do use california baby calendula cream on my boy's face for protection. but for neck area( below the chin) doctor gave this ezerra cream as he has heat rashes. desitin brand might have other products for other areas other than the bums.

ivtfwins, did you check whether the rashes on the face is due to heat or ur milk?

My bb used to have this problem, then I have to clean her face after each feed. Cos my bm sprayed all over her face :p

as for the neck, Angel had very terrible rashes. Primarily cos she's chubby. We tried a lot of lotion, such as Fruit of the Earth aloe vera. It helps but quite slow effect. Then we stumbled upon Kodomo's product - Powder lotion. It works great! :D you can try it out :D

Now her rashes on the neck are all gone :D

elekos, charleen, my baby belong to the chubby type too and has plenty of folds...the PD gave us desitin when he had diaper rash. So i suspect this neck rash is due to heat and not kept dry in our current weather. it look just like the rash he had between his legs.

Maybe i'll try a tiny bit of desitin tomorrow.

Ivftwins: can try QV cream on bb dry skin.. Can buy from Guardian or Unity pharmacy.. Works well for my bb.. For rashes under the neck, my PD says it's yeast infection cos it's moist.. So he gave me medicated powder to apply for my boy.. Clearing up quite well.. brand starts with D..

Can buy from pharmacy.. Cheaper at unity.. Will go home to chk the brand..

I bring my bb frm my place at jurong to my mum's place at woodlands alone every morning via MRT.. Haa is this considered going out?

Every weekend we will bring my boy out to meet friends for dinners or window shopping.. Want him to get used to strangers..

hi flyingpig, I bring my bb out almost everyday.

Hee... cos both my hubby and i are real estate agents, thus bring bb along when we go appointments.

Also, every sunday will bring her to church. [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

This way, she will not be scared of strangers or crowds. [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

ivftwins, my bb also chubby... 7.8kg on her 3mths old (lasr thursday)

Mummies,

hv yr babies started to roll over or attempt to do so? Tt's my son's new hobby. Trying to roll over onto his tummy. He does tt even at night when he is asleep, or frm the min he wakes up! Usually he will grunt so I know what he is up to. But I'm worried if I don't hear him when I'm asleep, worried he will suffocate if he faces down...

Any advice?

Chelleybaby, how old is your son? my boy is using his right leg to push his body up, think he's learning to flip. I'm also worried how to monitor him when heb learnt to flip. I'm thinking of getting baby sound monitor as he's sleeping in another room due to space constraint in mine.

But then again, If we're sound asleep and didn't pay attention to the sound monitor, then how? [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/sad.gif]
