mtdt, the young n pretty mama is shaine... me still at home doing confinement... 3 more wks to go!!

btw, for 1 wk old babies, how much do they need to drink per feed ah? my prince is taking abt 90ml per feed (every 2-3 hrs, and longer interval in the day)..

and does the pharmacy at tmc sells storage milk bottles ah? i'm still using the glass bottles given by the nursing room when i discharge...
 


Morning mummies, wow raining day, nice to sleep but wake up to feed my girl n pump milk... Btw any mummies know where to get nice pretty waterproof bibs? The last time I saw is at taka bb fair

I think 90-100 is just nice per feed ba, my girl took ard that when she's ard 2nd week, I saw from friso milk can is ard 65ml for formulae ;)

storage bottles I got some pigeon one from baby kingdom , also using those bird nest bottles too.
 
Morn moms...

My boy woke up at 9pm... I power latch (instead of power pump) till 1130pm... Then he woke up at 130am then 430am then 630am, 730am.. So irregular!

Glass bottles-u all can go back to tmc nursery to req.. Dun need to buy lah. Last time, I req like 3times... Esp if u cook with the nurse, just thick skin abit! Haha

my friend threw away a lot of her milk but i find like so wasteful..
 
Ya true for the I initial stage pls sleep when bb is sleepin. Mummies, u can xpress out your milk can call your hubby to feed or helper to feed bb especially @ nite

ya can understand how you all feel. Newborn every two or three hour need to feed de.


Haiz have a slight cough today later going to buy almond jelly to eat.Heard from my mum it helps to cure cough.
 
Yiqi: so good leh u, I only manage 100ml max for 15 mins. This is my 6th day. I personally find got a bit more supply than demand is better, not so stressful. Like now, my Hubby n CL went to hospital for jaundice test, I dun have to go as there are 2 bottles of spare ebm they can bring along to feed bb in case it takes more than 3 hours. U can store extra ebm in freezer cos there will be times when our ss will dip temporarily or we need to be outstation or can't go out wif bb etc. I also throw away a lot of milk last time. Almost few litres at one go when expired, but I feel play safe better than panic when not enough so now desperately trying to increase supply n I cannot latch.

Discovered bb 80ml per feed not enough. He gulps the ebm down in less than 5 mins, I see liao so scared he choke. Like what nurse told me, I increase 10ml per day so today will give 90ml per feed.
 
sandy, I also total latch only but hor, they are right leh. If got emergency or wat how? So I think may also need to store some leh even though i dun really like the idea of stored milk also...
 
Hm... ainsley... so far... if I know I will be total latch on.. I will try to time myself.. if I really need to go out...

I will feed bb first before I move out... and try to keep within the 3hours feeding time..

So far it works for my #2.. and I hope it will work for this NB as well :)..

Translate to chinese.. Means fren fren with the nurse lah. Hahaha.

Last time for no1, I also latch for 1st 2mths.. Then I start pumping and store. Anyway my ss not so fanastic kind.. More of just enough.. So just do my best. As I dun hv alt caretaker.. So I go where, bb goes where.. Go out shop etc also bring along. So no worried abt tat yet.

Yes.. total latch... but when I go back to work.. will train #2 to drink partial FM during working hours and will latch on when I reach home and thru out the night...

Will also do that for my NB..
 
Very sian. My son's jaundice level on 6th day is quite high at 13.5 so Hubby renting the phototherapy machine home from tmc to sun him as these few days no sun. If level goes above 15 then must admit.

Also v sian cos this CL I engage not as clean n hardworking as the last one. Last CL was so good but not available when I tried to book her

roxy - i agree le.. everytime mi pump like not much... but bb like can enjoy and keep swallowing non-stop.. and sometimes will leak from the side of his mouth... latching reali so much better...

firpy - mi bot abt 4 nursing bras... quite enuff for mi now...

calamari - tell her wat to do since she is not doing... sigh.. sometimes beli sianz to mit with such pple rite?? like confinement oredi so sianz.. still hav to deal with such CL... but cheer up.. juz focus on ur bb!!
 
Miu: I scared tell her wat to do she not happy then take out on my bb behind my back leh. Yesterday she overslept forgot to wake me up for pump then took out ebm from fridge but did not feed my son for one hour with it. Lucky I saw. Grrrrr, somemore I gave her $100 opening angpow. Think her going home angpow will be just the red packet paper. :p
 
Hi Ladies,
Any of you tested positive for Streptococcus Group B? Gynae did a swab test on me and I am tested positive. He told me that I just need anti-biotic drip during natural labour but when I google on Strep B, I read that it's advisable for Strep B positive to opt for C-Sect instead of Natural birth to reduce baby infection thru our birth canal ....... Need mummies with Strep B positive to share your view here. Thanks
 
Calamari..and ainsley..cos my workplace not convenient to pump.. will need to go toilet if I have to pump lolx...

Ainsley... our breast is amazing.. they can be trained.. for a start... yup.. it will drip... but won't engorge la.. cos I change one feed at a time.. and till during office hours.. bb will drink FM.. and when I am home direct latch on.. and I partial BF #2 for 14months.. so I think should be gd enough le..

I did it for #2.. so for #3 will do the same way.. bobian..
 
My CL so so only lah, still bit aunty way of take care, guess my hubby and i prefer the more modern way. She say dun have to change diaper after every feed, end up my DD got diaper rash..

I think newborn shld change often lah.
 
bluegal...i have not pop but i'm tested +ve too...my gynae gave me antibiotics to take for 5 days...was told that i will be given some antibiotic during the delivery as well...my gynae nv ask me to opt for csect though so i guess its fine to do natural birth

i have brought my girl back fr tmc.
so ex!! the UV therapy package i sign for 486 dun include the cot. cot is another $100 per day. then y did they say $486 package? in the end the $450 baby bonus no refund still have to deduct $300 plus from medisave.

broke liao. cannot buy FM. save money feed BM.
 
afternoon mummies. back from my gynae visit, i lost 800g... gynae was "like u really go on diet?" i told him that he told me to control my diet wat.. ahahha..

But my DD now weigh 2.9kg - 3.1kg n he says good weight..

btw, any mummies have any website to check on the dates whether they are auspicious or not.. cos we were thinking of 23 or 24.. but decide on 24 as #1 has a christmas party on 23.. but just want to make sure that it's a good date.. if not i may need to ask my gyane to change another date.. hehe..

I wasn't prescribe any antibiotic yet, but they'll include the antibiotic in the drip during labour. As for C-Section, that's what i read from other website which state that if tested + better go for C-Section so that baby do not go thru birth canal and won't get infected. Cos if baby get infected will be quite serious, not sure how true is it........Am kind of worried cos I already opt for natural with epidural
 
arisz, luckily it's raining now so they stopped work.. my baby sleeping. hope they are not going to start soon.

hi Bluegal, me too is SGB positive, but i normal delivery, my gynae give me antibotic pills for one week then during delivery they include in my drip.I hv the same concern as u when i know but my gynae said no different between c section or normal. Anything not sure PM me in case i overlook ur post, bz "entertaining" my princess ya.. lol...

I gave birth to my girl abt 2 weeks ago, i also hv Strep B positive. My gynea gave me antiobiotic for 5 days, and antibiotic during delivery. I went through natural with epidural. My gynea didnt offer to do csect when I was told I hv strep B. My gynea just mentioned that the i must hv the antibiotic at least 4 hrs before baby is out.

Is it true we cannot drink water during confinement??
 
Hi Ice, I had seen Dr.Tham yst and was scheduled for induction on 21 Dec as bb was quite big for me at 3.3kg.

However, bb still not engaged and my cervix is still firm ...so he mentioned that will need to insert 2 tablets for induce.

Did u choose to induce on 24 Dec?

Any idea if hubby can stay overnight at Delivery Suite and if KKH will provide complimentary parking during our stay?

BB nt putting on any weight liao.
Will be inducing tmr @ 9am.

bluegal...mayb u can check with your gynae on the antibiotic pills? seems like a few mummies like me are given the pills to take before delivery...

wow mummies so fast confirm on the induce date already...i'm still hoping for baby to come out by herself...if she is not out by next wed (EDD) then will have to induce already

Actually I dun wanna induce and still hoping him to come out on his own. But BB nt gaining any weight liao and I read that this is a sign of placenta nt functioning effectively. So there's some risk to the BB.
Ytd ckup I was asked to strap to CTG for haf an hr. BB no movement at all no matter hw we shake him. Then gynae sugg go labour ward to monitor for anoth hr, if stlll no movement, will need to induce immed. Heng ah, he moved during that 1hr. Now I have to close monitor his movement. Anythg nt right muz admit immed liao.
So hv decided to induce tmr since my gynae will be back from holiday and I really wan her to deliver for me too

Yuki, yup, Dr Tham asked me when i want to induce.. in fact he was jokingly telling me that today also can.. later he was telling me that i can induce anytime liao...

however, when i had #1, my hubby was with me at the delivery suite when i induce ( i insert 2nd pill at 11pm)...

i'm abt 1cm dilated..
