I just tested positive with CLearblue twice today and was positive. Till now still cannot believe it.

T-mum, looks like your AF report date same like mine. I tried to test 2 days before but is negative. So tot give up liao. Today tested and suprise.
 


Does anyone know when is a good time to start seeing a gynae? I'm about 5 weeks but I am going to see my gynae maybe once in two weeks. Is this too early? My friend's wife started seeing the gynae about 2 months pregnant..

Skinneybeans, it really depends on you. Some prefer to go earlier to ensure that the pregnany is ok. Eg like not ectopic pregnancy and that implantation took plc at the right plc. However, some only prefer to go after 6weeks so can hear baby's heartbeat. Actually me initially only want to go at 2mths but still very scare. So going next tues. Since only close to 5wks, dun know wheather can see anything not. But dun go I still cannot convince that I'm really preggy. Sigh. Funny hor. Is thi syour 1st pregnancy? Usually 1st time mummy more kan cheong.
 
Mummies, those that already went to gyane appt, how much of folic acid they ask you to take huh? Me now taking once per day for 5mg. Dun know enough. Heard some say must take twice per day.
 
Hi Lileen, yes it is my first, we've been trying almost a year now, so really happy to finally get pregnant!! I even felt nauseous this morning.

We din really see much yesterday, but we were able to see the sac the baby is in

in a few weeks time, we'll catch the heartbeat.

What abt packages and stuff? my mum was saying to go for KK. My gynae is at TMC and I was told the package thingy will only kick in after 12th week.
 
I've been taking the 5mg one from NTUC pharmacy since we started to try, I showed to my gynae yesterday he said it is sufficient. the instructions say take one a day. so should be enough.

i read that if women are trying they should take like 400micrograms. so since this is 5miligrams, should be more than enough

hi all mummies to be, tested postive in clearblue so faster went gp n confirm again and is positive... finally after 2 yrs!! so when should we see our first gynae?
 
skinnybeans, yah. Usually package starts at 12wks. But depends on gyane too. I start mine fm 8 wks but hv to top up. Which gynae u see in tmc?

you should start seeing gynae in your 8 weeks preggy. Too early go cannot see anything. Meanwhile take care and congraz.
 
josephine, congrats. It depends on how ks u r. Hehe. If u want to wait till u hear heartbeat then go 7 to 8wks. But if u want to make sure pregnancy takes plc correctly then can go anytime. Usually 5 wks shd see the sac. Me also ks, book appt nx tues. Only close to 5wks then. Hope can see something.

my hcg blood test results are out, dr loh said it's expected level for normal pregnancy, so normal. Feel more reassured now, hope spotting will stop with hormone pills and next week can see the sac since week 5.

Heartbeat will be able to see from 6 weeks onwards, ask your gynae to leave speaker on and you'll be so happy to hear the "galloping" sound and see the blinking heart

Congrats to all mum-to-be!! i've just discovered that i'm 5 weeks preggie.

Just went to see my gynae today. Blood test today and suppose to go for another 2 more rounds of tests on Mon and Wed. Gynae exlained that this will help to monitor the HCG level produced by my bb.
But found out that non of my friends went for blood tests until 2nd trim.
Just wondering if anyone of you heard of such tests?

Josephine, I'm visiting Dr Caroline Khi from AJ Clinic in TMC. I go to her cos she was my 1st gyane. Very patient lady, esp to 1st time mum. No regrets using her except for the long queue. Also for me, I prefer lady gynea. TMC also has a gyane call De Phylis Liaw. Very experienc gynae. As for dye hair, many say not to. However, my gynae say actually ok. Just dun touch scalp. In fact I went to dye hair during my 1st pregnancy too cos too much grey liao. Cannot take it. But if you just want to dye for colour, then try to avoid loh. My sis also dye her hair. Haha. But we are always the nottie ones.

I dun remember doing a lot of blood test. However, need to do for HIV, Hap A etc. Only did during my 1st visit. But diff gynae do diff things. Many factors to consider also, eg age, health, previous issue.
 
Min, congrats. Yes, its common for some cramp. As long as not extremely painful its ok. Also depend on how is the cramp. Pulling, twitching etc.
 
Hi, had brownish spotting again just now. Already taking hormone pills leh, don't know why this pregnancy it's like that. My mum said maybe different gender got different symptoms, my first one is a gal. But I told her now healthy and stable can already, don't want to speculate on gender. :p
 
Duh, just realised I misread Dr Loh's email. He said expected level for early pregnancy, normal. Hope there is no difference in the interpretation though.

I tested positive on the clearblue kit yesterday. Will see a GP to confirm. This will be my 2nd. My son is already 5 yrs old. So most knowledge and memories about pregnancy &amp; newborn has turned rusty :p

any mummies gg to see the gynae after the 8th week? cos i heard if u go too early the doc also wont be able to scan anything...

I've juz tested positive 2 weeks ago and yes..i don't have any pregnancy symptoms either. No morning sickness...hmmm..wonder whether it's normal...
 
josephine, yeah if go too early cannot see much. But at 5 to 6 wks usually can see sac liao. Me also hv lots of greys. So i also sure go dye hair. If u worry, go do those henna or herbal type n dun touch scalp. Me diy henna type at hm also. As 4 preggy symptoms, everyone is diff. Pray hard that u will be symptom free. Haha. Thats wat mst mtb want. During my 1st, it was better. Now hv more more morning sickness. Thank god that u r the lucky one. Another thing is ur hcg not to much yet. Some take till 7 to 8 wks b4 symptoms comes.
 
Hi Tristia yours is 5 yrs apart better than I. Now my son already 9 years old, so my memories about first pregnancy really can't remember much :p

Now start having morning sickness, hope that it will go off fast.

Josephine, understand tt 5-6weeks will be better cos as wat Lileen said, too early cant see anything clearly. Drink more water before u go for the scan. Easier for gynae to scan.
 
Josephine, I cannot really explain throughly in scientific term Can surf the net to get more info. However all pregnancy starts from there and your BB will soon grow bigger and bigger. I bought mine when in Taiwan beginning this year. Very hard to find it as its really in powder form. Just mix with hot water and apply. Totally no chemicals. om salon will have it too.

I am 5 weeks also. If i can i will also go this week but gynae not ard. But the nurse did mention that 5 weeks maybe still a little early ..

i know the anxiety .. jus wanna make sure everything is well rite? I totally share the same feeling as you. Or maybe u go end of this week? So at least its closer to the "6 weeks zone"?

After seeing my gynae and confirmed i am in 5weeks+.
My EDD is due 08 Dec 09. Hope 2nd baby is a boy.
 
t mum, choose tml cos the rest of the days very pack le. My job dun allow me to take leave anytime. Sat gynae fully booked too. Yah, took folic, calcium n some preggy supplement.
 
josephine, maybe u wait till 5 wks then go lah. At least can see sac. Nvmind, juz take it that if u dun spend this money, u also spend elsewhere. Anyway pregnancy is not a yearly affair. Haha. Me also a kaisu mother. As 4 milk, i dun take. Will try to take soon. Cos 4 my 1st, i totally cannot stand the smell n i dun drink also.

i'm about 6 weeks now... but haven't find a gynae yet. my GP told me to fix an appointment ard 7 or 8 weeks, but till now i don't know which gynae to go to...

do you all have any recommended gynae? preferably in the west or near town...

i'm new too and 1st time preggie...i have made an appointment with Dr Joycelyn Wong from TMC..have never met her but read good reviews about her. But only problem is have to wait almost a month for my 1st appointment with her...

Josephine - i know during my 1st pregnancy, my gynae didnt rush me to drinking milk till my 2nd trimester. I drink Enfamama.

Btw, anyone feels stomachache during first 5weeks? last nite i felt the pain, more painful den cramp. It went off ard 15mins later and also experience giddiness before the pain. Anyone feel the same before?
