vivi55, yup the reno is inside the hospital. the nurses told me they are upgrading for more 1 bedder rooms cos demand is high. not sure when it will stop. not dirty but can be noisy at times.

coconut - that day my hubby went to buy for me. the auntie say better to take those big ones, the small thai ones if we drink, we will encounter backaches after deliver cos dun know they use wat to wash the thai coconuts and is no gd for preggies.
 


hi yuki... ive used medela freestyle n pisa before... both r very good...but i prefer freestyle as its so light n portable...right now even as im typing im also pumping now cause just latch bb, pumping excess out...

ydae nite my bb was so cranky.. juz keep crying.. dunno y oso.. feed oredi, no soiled nappy etc.. so dunno y.. dunno isit got lotz of wind... later must buy ru yi oil.. sigh...

baby_shea - ya.. i oso have more discharge nearing 37, 38 weeks.. itz normal.. juz have to change more often and keep clean!!
 
good afternoon ladies, just woke up after a short nap, CL is feeding bb with the expressed breastmilk now.

Roxy : no worries la, i like the bag, hubby says can put more things, anyway, he will carry it at times.
Managed to use the hand free straps while pumping after watching the demo video link from bluegal.

17 days to the end of confinement.....can't wait for it to be over......
 
those mummies latching and oso feeding ebm.. will ur bb reject ur nipple?? dunno when to start on feeding ebm...

Ok, so its normal. Sigh, so uncomfortable. Keep changing panty liner. Thanks for all the replies.

yuki, must drink the green coconut not the thai coconut. i think it really helps. cuz my bb wasnt covered with too much blood and the white stuff.. thai coconut is heaty. green coconut is cooling.

baby shea, my bill.. i had natural vacuum w/ epidural. i paid $1500 during admission. after all the medisave deduction, they still need to rebate me $200+.. waiting for the cheque now.. keke iirc, total bill is about $3800+.. medisave deduct $2600.. hope this helps. oh btw, according to my gynae, if i ended up in e-csect, just top up $500 can liao. when my hubby go do the admission, the reception says even if e-csect, they only charge one type. not charge both norm and csect together.

its norm to have increase in discharge. i finish a pack of 40 pcs pantyliner within 2 weeks.

Miumiu, my bb is ok my nanny has been givin him Ebm to bottle feed @ nite while day time I'll b latchin @ times bb will b like searchin for somethin @ the nipple area subsequently tink he smell the scent of mummy then he will b latchin liao
 
Hi mummies who r doing your confinement now, just to check; we cannot on fan or aircon so your husband can take the heat! My hubby heard that I am moving the fan to CL's room he said "what about me? very hot lei no fan" I said no choice unless u pre-on the aircon for a few hours cool the room first before sleep ha ha
 
I will open the window and maybe my bedroom door dun close also.. Bb sleep with CL.. Hubby only taking his 3 days paternal leave

I switch on air-con in the nite or sunny day, fan is a no no so daytime will open window !!

I tink the package is the same but firipy said local dun include the medela bag and cooling element...dat im not too sure.. but if buy from singapore its abt S$800- 900... buy from spree here is only S$450 - 460 now. If got 3 mummies keen, can organise spree cause save on shipping charges, per pump abt S$455 based on exchange rate of 1.44 But if dun have 3 orders then shipping more exp, then better join the overseas spree

3rd dec 2009

10.30am Dr inserted pill to induce birth at the clinic
N did ve, said I'm 1 cm dilated.. Went on to stretch the cervic.. Ouch!! N husband said there was quite some blood on her glove.. Scared...first time in nine months see blood..
12.30pm put on ctg scan for almost 1 n a half hour.. Fell asleep but could feel pain on n off. Boy kept moving inside.. Think he doesn't like the strap of the ctg scan..
2 pm dr checked, contractions not regular n only 2 cm dilated. Sent me home to rest, said to check in at 11 pm tonight. She said likely to give birth only tmr..
11pm did admission at thomson n was brought to observation room n put on ctg.. Got mild regular contractions.. N its painful.. Wonder if I can do without epi.. But still only 2 cm dilated..
12 am brought up to room to rest for the night.. No more single bedded upgraded to single premier

4th dec 2009
8.30 am go down to labour ward... No more pain n contractions.. Worried... It's going to b a long wait! Hais Stubborn boy
10.45 am dr came n broke water bag but baby's head was rather well applied n so water didn't flow out..so she was like digging n digging?! 
Then was put on drip to hasten things
11 am - 2 pm contractions came n it was so so so painful.. Couldn't take the pain anymore n asked for laughing gas.. But gas made me so dizzy n the pain was still there!
2 plus asked for epidural, really couldn't take it as contractions came closer n closer..asked my husband to just take the pain away..
Once epidural was administered, immediately dilated from 5 cm to 8 cm.. Nurse said cervic relaxed..
But hubby noticed that baby's heartbeat kept dropping n told the nurses.. A few nurses tended to me n I was like horrified!! So worried.. Gave me oxygen n asked me to breath! In the end realized my bladder was full n that prob caused the drop in baby's heartbeat..
After cathetha was inserted everything went back to normal n i told my husband epidural is magic!
3 plus was wheeled in to labour room n was told to prepare.. 
3 plus to 5 plus was still waiting for full dilation of cervic.. But baby's heartbeat slowing down..
5 plus dr said to try to push although only 9.5 cm dilated cos not to wait anymore.. Push for almost an hour but totally zero progress! Can see baby's crown but I can't feel my legs n I don't know what I'm pushing!
6 plus dr said don't try anymore, I panicked thought she wants to do emergency c section but she said she'll help with forceps. She prepared and said I prob wouldn't want to look cos forceps is q huge.. Scared
640 plus with two nurses pushing my tummy n dr with forceps, n me pushing managed to get baby's head out.. Dr said umblical cord around my baby's neck.. So so so worried but at 
6.53 pm my little boy finally borned safely.. Scored 10 on apgar score! Relieved!!
Oh what an experience!

baby_shea - ha.. mi too.. sigh... no xmas outing or party for me... tink a lot of mummies oso dun have lor.. neber mind.. we all dec MTBs will celebrate xmas online.. wahaha!!

roxy - so good.. ur confinement onli 28 days?? my mil wanted to do 40 days for mi.. i protested and reduced to 30 days man.. heng man!!

min - what an experience!! hope i can try for natural for my #2!!
 
i just went to bugis to pray before my csect tmr..
and i went last minute shopping at bugis! just to share, seiyu is having 20% storewide sale now.
i bought Klorane dry shampoo and Galenic stretchmark concentrate at guardian...duno good or not..will try lor.. :)
 
miumiu how often do u wear the binder? everyday? when u go back clinic for checkup did u wear tat also? isit still pain?

So busy with my NB till no time to login. She is now sleeping... my breast are now like stone too... try massaging and pumping out..but pathetic only 20ml....help!!! Anyway to increase milkflow?
 
Hi ladies,

Those whose confinement done by MIL, how much u all give them? I think my MIL will come over my place and cook meals for me and that's all, dun think she will stay at my place. I m thinking of giving her 1K for buying food, S$500 red packet for her. Do you all think this is enough?
 
Mummyfel, where did you deliver? Can call TMC BF hotline for advice? Try to massage then hand express before you pump. Think if really bad engorgement, can also try applying cold cabbage for short while then pump. If boobs are rock hard, baby will have problem latching so must pump or squeeze out some first.

ManU, I can pump out 50-90ml depending on how long baby latch. Used to be only pathetic 15-20ml last week. Was so worried that my freestyle pump not strong enough then. :p
 
Hi arisz, if you're keen, I have one extra tube, can sell to u with normal postage at $10, box abit out of shape but item still brand new cause packed with my hospital bag :p

Juz checking... do you apply nappy rash cream on bb after every change.. or only when there is rash developed?

For Mummies.. who TBF.. how long it takes for your bb to settle down.. meaning.. not poo poo after every feed...

I totally forgotten all these le..

today is my first day of Materity leave. Countdown 10 more days to go. My poor boy keep "lau seh" since friday. Hope he gets well today.

if there is rash developed then apply the cream.
 
mummyfel: wrap your boobs with hot towel before expressing does wonders. if engorged, add some white vinegar in the hot water before you wrap...this method was taught by an old nurse when i has my son last time and i was so engorged that i went crying for help at the polyclinic.
