the 120ml milk is abt half hour to 45 mins aft he finish his cereal la. he needs to drink milk to "intoxicate" himself to take his morn nap la.

Finally got some time to reply. My baby slept at 830pm! He usually sleeps ard 11pm-12am… today is record breaking.. heehee.

Thanks Kam.. brought my boy to PD… did a urine test and test shows his urine is clear of baterica.

What tests does your son need to do for UTI @ KKH? I was advised by my PD to do 3 tests to check tat his kidneys are all right. My son still taking medication.. next mth bringing him for 1st test, ultrasound.

I also bought insurance for my boy…. Somemore the most expensive range tat entitle A class ward stay & private hospitals. But tat day I too gan chiong, didn’t think much and just went to KKH.

Not sure if we can choose a specific PD if go KKH. The 4 bedded and 1 bedded wards in KKH are considered private and private rates apply.

Docs couldn’t really explain how babies get UTI, the doc at KKH said cud be due to germs fr stools or hands dirty and touch bb. My PD say can’t be explained.. cud be due to bad timing, bad luck and nothing to do with cleanliness.

This happen to be my v good colleague… married & just pregnant. My ex supervisor also think that I shld not be affected by the bonus and no promotion bcos I took 4 mths leave while my colleagues are slogging hard at work. Sigh….

looks like few babies are sick, my boy also got cough, running nose and phlegm. Wanted to bring him to see PD but he's much better now, so didn't go. Still go phlegm in his throat.

Then i also kanna sore throat, flu and cough from my boy during CNY.... just seen doc 2 days back...
 
seeing that some mummies has fed their babies with puree & cereals.. so tempted to try. Will still stick to feeding him when he turn 6mths in mar. : )

For mummies giving their babies FM, any idea how to switch from step 1 (0-6mths) to step 2 (6mths-12mths) of FM? Thanks

My CNY with baby is fantastic (except for the sick part), MIL is away for holiday, super happy! Was out with baby till midnite or past midnite for chu yi and chu er. : )

If i were you, i will stop sil from feeding bb biscuit...don't how how bb will react to it.

Expected them to be v experience wif bb cos they got 4 kids lor. After bb taken the biscuit, rejected milk for few days. Not sure should I start her on careal or persist to start mid of next month when she turn 6 months.

After back from m'sia, very jia lat. They put her in yau lan there n now need to carry and pat to sleep. Last time no need. MIL complaint but she is the one who put her to yau lan de lor. Told her will sure affect one, she don believe.

SO many ple carry and walk here n there in M'sia, now back at home, she kept wanted to be carry and need ple to talk n play wif her. jia lat. Lucky I got work, else kanna fan xi lor.
 
mamato6Js - I believe should be okie lah... I think we can order a starter pack (like what I got today), 9 servings and share among the babies, adults can have the "upsized Boys & Girls meals". hehehe
 
few days back, saw my boy's little tooth at the bottom growing ... and today my mom told me top 2 also grow liao.. 4 at a time.. =/

so fast!! too eager to eat?? or bite me?? hmmm...

hi mummies,

finally got access from my hotel, 24hours for RM$30. Quite cheap la..compared to other rates and Singtel's 1MG for SGD$20...
this is much better.. for 24 hours!! RM$30.. wahhaha....

Was at Cameron yest for one whole day.. from 7plus till this morning 10am then we left for KL..
it was a rush rush trip there...gg to all the farms etc.. except for the weather, didnt really enjoy farm trips..maybe with baby, more hassle to get up and down the bus...
anyway, now we hate FIVE STARS!! HB gonna write a long complaint when we're back i think..or maybe tmr, when he has the time since we have the access now.. hehee...

went for a supposedly shiok shiok 120min spa massage... only to have my mum came into the spa salon with Rayanne 1 hour into the spa....

Apparently Rayanne had been crying for 15min..till both her eyes RED &amp; SWOLLEN!!
the moment i carried her, she stopped, and sobbed.. like we abandoned her... :'(

Oh my! How i felt guilty and bad.....
tried to sooth her before i start on my actual massage (had ear candling, scrub, jacuzzi before that..) but the moment i returned to my mum, she wailed again....

somehow, the therapist asked my mum to leave the room while i went to have a quick shower so that they can start my massage with my girl on me... so when i came out, she was gone with my mum... >.<"

So i had a 45min massage wondering and thinking what happend to my girl....

Finally ended and when i came back home, my mum told me my girl cried for a whole 1 hour... and she fell asleep coz she was too tired at 10.45pm...
My massage was 8.30 - 10.30pm supposedly....
we came back at 10.50pm...

Both HB and me was like.... want a good massage but yet guilty to have made my girl cry....

how to go back to work like that???? sigh......

Anyway..... read thru... now the topic is on cereal and puree....

fed Rayanne i tiny weeny spoon(given with NUK weaning package...a bowl and a spoon..) for the 1st 2 times...
then i moved to 2 tiny weeny spoons twice....
then i gave 3 spoon and she cried when i finished...
so the last time i fed her was 5 tiny weeny spoonsful...

and i give her before her feed...about 15-30min before her actual milk feed... after i finished, gotta quickly latch her..coz she still hungry... (of coz!)

Steph> ONZ for the gathering... but but but 27th Feb i cant... got something on...cant rem what.. but i know the date is chopped... gotta go back home to check what it is....

Old Navy> 6 out of 7 packages have reached vpost.. (and i suspect already reached Spore...) waiting for the last package to reach then i will make payment... seems the shipping quite reasonable so far! yayy!!

I mean..the bigger packages somehow has 3kg of air..but the smaller packages are really compact!! heheh. :p

My boy nowadays seem to "bite" me with his gums too. He will suddenly pull his head back while still suckling! Do you know if there's any way to teach him not to do that? Some people say flick his cheeks...not heartpain meh? Sometimes don't know which pain is worst.
 
<font color="119911">Connie</font> I will also stop anyone from giving my boy food. They always say nevermind one lah, he wants, etc, etc.... But I always reply "why you SO sure? If really kena sick, then how??" And no one dares to take responsibility.

My boy also, during CNY, so many people carry here carry there. End up, come back, he also expected to be carried all the time. Yesterday cry and cry (and he hardly cries for nothing cos I'll "scold" him), until he fell asleep. And I think he's also rejecting the bottle cos over CNY all direct BF. But it was only for a few days...oh dear...

Funny, after come back from M'sia, she don want to wrap liao. last nite, MIL release her hand and she happily sleep with head tilted one side.
 
Jolimilk, I used to tap her cheek a lightly and say no sternly. Helped.

For those mums who've stopped pumping, how did you do it? Went cold turkey or slowly pump less and less? I'm gonna stop when baby turns 6 mths in March. Getting harder and harder to even fill 4 bottles when I pump 4 times a day. Early AM, twice at work and before I sleep.

i see that most of u have started cereals on ur baby b4 6months... makes me very gian to start my gal too... she has been keen on our food and keeps making eating movements while looking at us eat. Put a spoon in front of her and she actually opens her mouth too.. she didnt used to open her mouth lor. And last nite i had apples after dinner and i put it in front of her mouth and she opens her mouth to lick it too... now i'm so tempted to go buy a tin of cereal to let her try tmr b4 the happy bellies from cookiezz' spree arrives. Should i?? or should i wait till she's 6months old or when the spree goods arrive? But i see her look at our food like so ke lian leh...

I always tot Ian's breathe is sweet smelling but I didn't dare to mention to anyone cos afraid people will say things like "Ya lah, even your son's poo is sweet smelling :p" hahha so it's true! Baby's breathe is sweet smelling! Sigh.. so they'll turn "smelly" once we feed them with cereal? .. Not keen to start on cereal liao.

Haha actually to date, I've only fed him cereal once, cos I find it very ma fan... more convenient to just latch. :p very lazy

When I 1st saw that cafe, I was very keen to buy but after thinking, y not do it myself? I'm SAHM with only 1 kid leh, and preparing puree doesn't need much (or any) culinary skill. In the end, I didn't buy lor. But if we're all going, then it'll be fun to see our kids eating together.
 
thanks bernice for the guide... Looks like Got to slowly chg over until bb adjust. am feeding my bb 50% breastmilk, 50% FM.. Think will be slightly complicated.. Figure out when the time comes... Most prob take longer to switch...

Ya, I think if bb sleep in yao lan, they will get used to it n can't sleep w/o it.. I dun like but hubby n mil prefer bb to sleep in there as can sleep longer. so let bb sleep since it helps to shape his head Rounder.

now my bb staying @ my parents' place.. Seemed like he like to sleep in his play pen more than his bb cot @ home..

Its true that bb head will become rounder if in yao lan but last time my boy only sleep yaulan at SIL place in the afternoon. At home is on the bed. Now head unbalance lor. 1 side bigger. haa haa

My friend told me not to put yaulan too frequent. Back will bend. He cannot stand straight because of yaulan.

for those who've started feeding your babies cereal... do you find that you can't feed them fast enough?
for me, i think he's so used to drinking breastmilk either from the breast or bottle where he can just suck suck suck non stop... when i feed him with the spoon, it's like too slow for him, and he will start fussing cos the next spoonful doesn't get to him fast enough.
i've tried giving him half a milk feed before cereal, he fuss less, but i still got to scoop very fast... aiyoh! any tricks i can try?
 
Marie> i've stoppped pumping for 2 months plus.. I only pump once a day initially... only in confinement maybe i pump like 2-3 times a day.. but mostly at nite... that was to stimulate supply...

ever since from 1-3months i only pump at nite.. because baby sleeps throughout from 10weeks onwards... so she dun drink and i had to pump....
and from 3rd month onwards.. i stopped pumping..coz i've been storing and throwing... heartpain..and waste money.. so i stoppped...and i latch 24/7... last latch at abt 11-12am.. thats when she really sleeps....
and next latch will be about 6,7 or 8am..depending on when she wakes up...
if i'm leaking..then i carry her to my bed to dreamlatch....

initially alot of leaky days.. but after 2months...supply stabilise liaoz...
so i'm okay most of the times..unless on days she drink less..then i gotta manual pump in the bathroom when i bathe...squeeze out the milk a bit till not so full then i stop.. hehehe..

Thanks Rach but I meant I wanna stop pumping because she's going on total FM when she turns 6 mths... gradually less and less BM. Scared if just stop pumping it'll hurt.

oh in that case u gotta start to drag ur pumping sessions... for eg, if u are pumping 3hourly, then drag to 4hourly, then 5 and then 6hourly... then after tat increase till ss gets lesser loh..

if just stop.. it'll definitely reduce the ss, but u gonna get engorgement leh..

so... gotta gradually drag...unless ur ss is not a lot to begin with...

havent start feeding my boy with solids... tempting to.. but dun want to rush into things yet...

Thk God my boy was better.. it not UTI! just maybe i din clean him properly that caused him "infected" =(

the ezcema on him was better.. after a visit to skin specialist in NUH children clinic..

Abt the Fitti diapers... im interested to try before buying.. emailed Fitti but they never got back to me... :/

Bringing bb out was a hassle to carry all his barangs, FM, bottles, extra clothing, toys, blanket, pillows, diapers etc... cant imagine going on holiday with them... haha.. looks like im stuck with bb in SG for as long as he dun need a lot of barangs liao...

Looking forward to wean him since im planning to take leave again... wahaha

im so missing him when im at work... wish i can be SAHM =(

true, bringing them for tour also v troublesome unless direct latch ba. no need pump, bottles sterilise etc. Just like RAch.

I go m'sia, 2 bags of equipment + bottles
fridge to go, hot water etc. pillow, mattress. hubby complaint car not big enough cos bb too much things.hubby n me only 1 bag of cloths. rest all belong to bb.

Itsy, Initially I also thought that since I got my mum and helper at home, they can do the puree for him... but after going to the Petit Bowl, I think I will randomly still buy food from them for Jordan. The guy there was very friendly and offered me tasting samples... when he brought them out, I thought was just for me to see and explain how they are. Then he ask me to taste them.. I was like @@... hahaha but it was the cold ones lah... and it tasted really nice and fresh taste... I think I tried Pear and Apricot Porride, butternut risotto and their creamy green bowl (which has 4 veg in it).... its nice but no salt lah... heheh so I think when my boy turns 9 months, I will go more often.. lol

The ones I bought for my baby was also very nice.. my boy whacked everything.... hahaha

It looks and smells natural... I would recommend that place...
 
Oh... I think my boy learning to crawl leh... like a bit too fast leh.. he will be on fours and start rocking himself forward... many times he will really advance.. hehe will load the video on FB soon to share..

when i put him on tummy, he starts to turn round and round, or backward.. but not forward
 
hi mummies..last week my baby was sick, now it's my turn again. haven seen doctor yet, just got some old medicine to eat. any mummies here know if zyrtec is safe to be taken during breastfeeding. if not, i will throw away the pumped milk after i took the medicine...

UTI is v troublesome!! My PD Aiyoyo-ed when I told him abt my boy kanna UTI. He oso said he has seen cases where there are serious kidney damage cause by urine reflux.

I brought my bb to stay @ my parents' place these few days since mil not ard.. I also bring lots of stuff over.. Bb's clothes, toys, blankets, bumbo chair, etc. Luckily my dad fetch me, my mum n sis helped me carry the barang, or else dunno how to manage.

Mine is at compassvale lane.. near the esso.. i got the flat in 2006 cos it's a BTO. i guessed there are some leftovers? YOu can check for Compassvale View, Compassvale Beacon, Compassvale Pearl. These 3 BTO are just side by side but launch during different period of time. :)

itsy, yah... those I mentioned were for 9 months and above lah... cause baby can take more things already and then can have more variety...

Heheh I have a copy of their menu at home.. those pamphlets that's why I can tell u the names of the food.. hehe Maybe I should ask for $ to be their spokesperson.. hahah cause I so sound like one.. lol

zyrtec is safe for breastfeeding, but if it's for flu you can choose puriton instead because that's supposedly safer than zyrtec. paige ever experienced decreased milk supply when she took the meds. as for me, milk supply remained the same after i took the meds.

ergo carrier,
i just started my baby on the ergo carrier. getting him to sit sideways (both legs coming out of one side of the carrier) inside instead of having him facing me. any mummies started their babies on the proper ergo position (ie legs sprawled across mummy's tummy) already? i don't know when i can start that. 6 months?
 


sandwich, thanks for the info on zyrtec. I already took it last night for flu. But i pump out the milk one hr later. So, just wondering if the milk is safe for baby.
