milkyway, i kena block ducts a few times alraedy very sian i know, each time lose alot of sleep....i just had it last week too. i go n massage so hard til infected,got to take antibiotics so super sian lor... went to doc, she say that particular lump is not connecting to ducts one, so wouldn't clear even with massage..so just leave it alone if milk flow not affect...
u check is it round smooth n hard type, u press also no milk come out? if so, then not point massaing, but best go check with doctor. cos very difficult for us to know the difference actually.

infant care> come to think of it, it's good to send my boy there. now he is more independent. wun always expect someone to play with him. he can lay in his bed, kick here n dere, tok to de bear on his cot bumper and flip himself. den when he sees me or hubby, he'll just smile.

but it has also make him alot quieter. last time he used to ah gee with us very often. now pretty much quieter. so dunno good or bad -_-"

i'm trying to give him more milk n drag his drinking interval to 4hrs. he manage to go on 4hrs interval yesterday with 130ml. today give him 140ml, if he can finish, i will up to 145 den 150 etc =p

I am suppplementing EnfalacA+ for my girl. Are you sure diarrhae is associated with FM? It's more common that baby gets constipated after taking FM than having diaarhae, cos FM is fortified with iron. You can call to various FM companies to ask for samples to try out and see which one suits your baby well.

Sure. It's your choice afterall. As long as you feel comfortable with the arrangement, and you are willing to train your boy for the convenient of the teachers. Disregard my comment :)

Babies are usually (not all) become more independant after attending infant care for a while. Cos the teachers just simply don't have time to interact with them all the times. But do monitor closely for the first few weeks until you are 100% sure that he is being taken care well.

my boy is also supplemented with similac. with tbf, he used to poo every 3-4 days, now with 1-2 feeds of similac daily, he is pooing every morn! weird
 
kam> nono. i m training him not for de convenience of the teachers defnitely. have started training him even before i send him for infant care. juz tat switch back to 3hrly so tat if he cries, at least de teacher got something to "humour" him with =x

ya, m monitoring him closely now. he still looks happy like before n smiles very much. but seriously i m getting quite bz at wk too. so dun really have much time to spend with him -_-

sandwich> ya lo. my boy is adjusting well liaos. maybe y he sleep so much de first day is becos he need to wake up abt 20mins earlier den when we send him to my parents place. so first day he was sleepy. now he goes to sleep at ard 930pm. so i get to spend abt 2hrs with him, den after he sleeps, i go n do my stuffs.

So good that your boy goes to bed early. Mine starts to feel sleepy around 11pm.


My gal keeps rubbing her 2 legs (the inner ankles) together, then the area there becomes red and like blister is going to form. Now letting her wear socks. Wonder if anyone babies also have this funny habit??

mine mine!!! She rubs her feet almost all the time but not red or blisters. Weird hor? My mum says me nory siblings does it... Haha
 
just this mon, my boy was "detected" with suspected UTI with a fever... so need to go NUH children A&amp;E at nite time.. detected a bit of abnormalities in his urine during the dip test and we had to admit last minute at 2.30am.. so scary...
no choice but we chose class ward A cos bb easily scared or awoken by sudden sounds..

4am tues morning we all so tired from the chkups and questions, comes the good news.. no UTI (so far so good.. might just be viral fever..
then wait for doc's round to discharge us... cos so far everything seems okie.. i can monitor bb at home myself...

spending over $500 for a short nite stay in the hosp and a big scare...... sighh

Mine too! Keep rubbing her feet, btu also not red or blisters, cos we let her wear socks most of the time (cos her feet get cold easily).
 
hmm.. sam also rubs his feet together. guess he's exploring the sensation. but no redness or blisters leh.

the funniest thing he's doing now is that he's trying to crawl but can't so he keeps moving backwards after he swings back n forth a few times on his hands n knees - sort of like.. ahem.. having sex rotfl

sigh he used to sleep through but dunno why for the past week or so he keeps waking up for more feeds! the thing is he dun drink a lot in the day, so shldnt be growth spurt? and this morning he woke up like min 4 times? i also blur already! every morning will automatically carry him to bed and latch him... very robotic...

it's very common for babies to move backward before moving forward. Sam is trying to be on all 4 already, that's great!

On a seperate note (joking) - because you and your hub do 'it' in front of Sam, so that how he learns it :)

I think if BBs dun drink enough in the day, they'll wake up at nite. So I die die make sure Sam takes his last feed b4 I let him sleep, else he sure wake up in the mid of the nite

sometimes he'll suceed in flopping forwards. But he's really cheeky when I try to make him sit. He'll purposely let himself free fall backwards. This boy very chor lor one. Must be nvr fall b4, so no fear!

Muahaha so do only boys learn this?

jul - i last feed at 10pm and also 12am leh, sigh!! its the same routine when he slept through!! grr... now make him take noon naps also not ez!

we were thinking we should wait a while longer before getting a ward bed in hosp since we "check-in" at 2.30am and the result came out around 4am... then we dun have to stay there for another few hours.. can home sweet home soon...

bb dun have UTI but his penis tip was red.. doc (prof kwek) mentioned it was infected so have to clean it properly.. felt bad i din do a good job cleaning it =(

What is ‘nory’ siblings ah? My gal rubs quite hard so that’s why blisters starting to form. When she gets excited or want attention then she will keep rubbing her feet.
I thought no need to wear socks at home coz can be quite hot in the afternoon, guess she has to wear it all-day liao.

It should be that your boy didn’t drink enough the whole day. I experienced before when my gal hardly drank in the day and she woke up twice in the night !! (3 hrs apart somemore) like newborn..

I started my girl on brown rice cereal today, MIL fed her and she loves it! She keep looking at the spoon for more to eat!

i'm still tu-tu-ing to start sam on solids. lazy lah haha. but i notice he's starting to show interest in our food liao. just abt right time also lah. 1week+ to 6 mths. time flies!
 
sam is rolling ard n playing with his tiger on a mattress in my study. let's see how long he lasts b4 I have to end my me-time haha
 
i am soooo tempted to open the applesauce to let jacob try!! controlled very hard ytd! but he is only abt 18 wks... sigh! last wkend i bought bowls and spoons for him to start solid!

mummies feeding this, can u advise, did u make it very watery ah? the instructions says 1 tbsp cereal to 4 tbsp water/milk. thats very watery isn't it? suppose to be like this? will it be ok if i added less milk/water to make it thicker and more pasty?

Me too. ALways kanna block ducts. Takes 2-3 days to clear.
GOt once so serious that parent craft refer me back to my gynae to take ultrasound and confirm a lump. End up refer to breast cancer dept in NUH. Need to see them again after I stop BF.

But you're right, he's always (well, almost always) perspiring. Switch on aircon, he sneeze sneeze; dont't switch on he hot hot. So difficult to find the right temperature for him.

And someone told me to mix in milk bottle and let him drink through teat. Is that correct? I thought is mis and feed with spoon leh...

where did u see happybellies in singapore? i don't see it in cold storage/ntuc.

i thought the whole idea of feeding cereal at this stage is so that the baby gets the idea of what the spoon is for and gets used to it? lol. if feed through bottle, how to learn?

ya lor...that's what I thought. But was told that was what the bigger hole teats are for. I checked out the teats, and true enough, I saw that some are meant for things like cereal, but very watery one I suppose?
 
jolimilk - i read online tat its not advisable to feed cereal thru teats.something to do with tooth decay.
