Jed was ok after e swim but he didn't stay long in e pool.. only bout 15 mins.

Choose a day when the afternoon sun is very hot then you bring yr gal to swim ard 5 plus. By then the sun is nt so hot anymore &amp; e water wld b warmed by the afternoon sun. I usually start by letting them stay in water for 15 mins den slowly increase to 30 mins.

We started my #1 &amp; #2 when they are bout 2 mths old. I've a video of my gal swimming in my facebook.. can go &amp; take a look</font>

Tt video was taken when she's 6 mths old.

I've history of asthma, sinus &amp; sensitive skin but so far my kids r ok.. Just dun start them off on eggs &amp; seafood too early.

Yr DH has safra membership?? if yes den brin Kim to Safra swimming pool.. @ least they hv hot water in e toilet, can bathe there.

I will usually apply sunscreen on them b4 swim &amp; follow by moisturizer &amp; hair conditioner after e swim.

Will be bringing my #1 &amp; #2 to swim at seaside next

nope, my hb doesn't have safra membership. yep yep, i bought the california bb sunblock for my gal already. now wondering if i shd get an old navy swimtank for her or not...or maybe just let her swim naked lah! :p

Swim diapers is bought frm the shop... Unless u have ur own swim diaper ? N those 1st timers the teacher will recommend to go small pool first.. Which is the individual tub.. The water is drained off after every use.. So that's why can swi naked.. Not worried abt pee or poo...

But big pool the water is prob drained off after certain no. Of users.. I've never asked cuz Rayanne is usually the 1st or 1st few users of the day... N big pool alot of water.. If drain after every use then very wasteful.. Takes very long for them to fill up to 38 degrees also.. Hee...

I'll be there 2 plus then.. No need to be too shun coz limited staff if everyone there together at same time also gotta wait.. So we can be there 15min earlier or later also ok...

As long as we all there abt 2-3pm is fine.. So mummies no need to rush.. They'll swim for 30-45 min also.. N if opting for massage then another 20min also.. So be prepared to spend 2 hrs at least for their swimming lessons..

Important thing to note:
pls ensure bb is fed well before u leave home so that when u reach just nice.. N ensure bb is well rested before swimming else you'll have a sleepy n lazy bb who'll start fussing..

1st time Rayanne was ok but 2nd time we blur blur just go like that then she started crying the moment she was undressed.. Turn out she was sleepy n I had to carry her in my arms while she slept for 20 min before she start to swim again... So frm then on, I ensure she feeds n sleep before swimming..

my hubs is the type who will not do stuff for fun if there's risk lor. plus he very status quo one lah. for eg, i wanted to buy the peg perego, n he went.. "what for? already got the combi". then that time wanted to get a new car seat, he was like "y not use sister's old car seat". n yeah, he's quite protective over his precious boy.

nvr tot he'll be like this, coz i was the one who wanted to have a bb. n he also din show much enthusiasm during my pregnancy leh.

aiyah forget abt facebk lah. i'm too lazy to update haha. i got post photos of sam leh. got 1,2,3 mth photo.. n bumbo photo also. u din c?

Oh.. den you'll hv to pay S$3.20 per adult for Safra pool &amp; only can go on wkday. U shld try e Yihsun Safra pool.. it's usually quite deserted on wkday. @ times my children can have the whole pool to themselves.

My gal only wears swim tank from Old Navy cuz DH dun approve of Bikinis. He said lidat might as well dun wear. e purpose of swim wear is keep them warm.. wear so lil defeats e purpose

My DH is also v "particular" over e kids. He's v particular bout e stuff they used etc..

No leh.. for my case.. I was e one hesitating to let my kids swim early. DH is e one who insist woh.. he said start early den bb wun hv phobia of water. His theory is our bb r born swimmer mah..imagine they hv been swimming in our tummy for so many mths</font>

My boy eventually developed eczema when he was about 15 months old. Both me and hubby don't have. Luckily PD said he is going to outgrow it.

But we don't care much lah, since it's only mild one. Continue to let him swim, let him eat whatever he wants to eat. For him, most often it's the heat that triggers the eczema, so difficult to avoid, just get Calendula cream to standby lor.

For us, it's me who plan activities for family. Then "propose" to hubby. 95% of the time, he would go as what I plan. Only the odd 5% he said no, so I respect him lor :)

i finally persuaded hub to bring my gal to the Hua xia for a trial swim... haha he also didnt want it and quoted same reasons like is the water cold, did they change the water after each baby, etc... but after the first trial, no more already cos he dont wanna sign the package lor.. find it damn ex lah!!

i fed my gal bao bao then we go but i think after ard 10mins, she started fussing and we found out that she was sleepy!!... at first she was still very happy, kicking the water and smiling at us lor.. then took her out of water, changed and then she fell aslp in her stroller immediately after we left. Hub was still saying heng she cried, got excuse not to sign package.. lol..

now waiting for her to be bigger lor.. wanted to bring her down to the pool at our place for a swim but scared the water wil be to cold also... also wanted to get thermal suit but dont have size for bb lor.. duhz!

We go to CSC (Civil Servant Club) at Bukit Batok. We reckon it's a nice place. Clean and nice environment. Got a few pools to choose from (wave pool, children pools, adult 50m pool, and jacuzzi pool). Got power (hot) shower after the swim. Free for members, open to public but must pay. A few teachers on this thread right? can apply to become a member, think only a few dollors a month.

my hubs isn't particular abt things like soap, clothes, etc at all. think it's b/c he's used to using 'low quality' things n as i said, it's all abt status quo with him. but when he sees, feels, touches, uses the 'gd stuff' n realises the diff, then he'll give in lor.

haha i'm also the one who wants to 'do stuff'. most of the time, hubs also goes along. this swimming thing is something that he feels v strongly abt.

Regarding Hua Xia Swimming

for the small tub, yes I agree that it's more of dipping bb in bath tub.. If u have a bath tub at home, by all means soak ur bb in there but I think it's not deep enough.. Bb's feet will touch the bottom end up walking n not swimming.

I know they drain off after every use coz I saw them do that n when I went there for 1st two times, I saw them filling the water into the empty tub n they even ask me to wait first before undressing my gal as water not ready..

But subsequently, Rayanne swam in the big pool n I mean really swim because there is room to kick and splash n she will swim towards the " fish " inside the pool n lie on her back with her butt up like relaxing.. So we felt it's a good form of exercise for her.. Coz she really moved inside the pool.. Small tub is more restrictive n she got bored at the 2nd session..

Ultimately, there's no right or wrong la.. Just personal preference .. U like n comfortable then go, if dun like then dun go Lo.. It's not cheap also.. N not all babies will definitely like it... Though most shld la..

Just my two cents worth.. :p

I've been to CSC @ Bt. Batok a few times too. My gal used to attend the baby jumper gym there so after tt will let her go dip in the pool. Agree it's v nice but too far for me

My DH is quite particular so I always give up buying clothes/shoes for the kids. Mus seek his approval 1st one lor. Like e pram rite.. I had initially wanted something light &amp; small so easier for me to take transport. But he said cannot woh.. mus hv enuf cushioning for BB, den mus b heavy &amp; stable so we end up getting P3 after I sold my Quinny Zapp. He v she de to spend on his kids lor. But he also v funny.. somethings he's particular but some stuff he dam bo chup.

Nobody is saying Hua Xia swimming is no gd lah.. Kam &amp; myself r jus sharing what our DH commented. To us, we prefer our children to be outdoor instead of the indoor air-conditioned area.

Like wat you said, there's no right or wrong, just each parent's personal preference.</font>

yah lor.. been wanted to get a swimsuit for my gal since we have a 'free' pool to use mah. those i see in the shops dont have any for NB, 3m, 6m leh.. yah ON very limited designs.. and size from 6m onwards.. mayb i wait and see.. i think i need one for myself too.
 
Hi... just wanna check if ur baby is born around 22 sept 09 at 3.485kg, 49cm, how big is ur baby now? cuz my girl is weighing 7kg and 61cm. so many pple commented shes big!

**high-5** yes, for us, it's outdoor all the way! That's why I said in my earlier post, no offence to any mummies. of course everyone has her own preference and select what's best for her baby lor.


Ah goh,
Don't compare to other babies and don't care what other says. You have the healthbook, the one that hospital gave you. Look at the growth chart. Monitor your gal's growth (weight, height and head circumference) using the growth chart. Compare to others is a very wrong way, cos every baby grows differently.

Thermal swim wear is up to yr preference lor.

Personally we feel is not necessary since Singapore is so hot. Just make sure tt day is sunny den bring them to swim.

My children all wear rompers to sleep. I only switch to 2 pcs after they turn 1yo. If u constantly make sure e rompers fits well then it shldn't b a problem mah</font>

Anyone has any review? good or bad welcome....am thinking of getting a manual pump after seeing <font color="0000ff">sandwich</font> so elegantly manages pumping on the go...besides, need to travel to Penang in Feb, bringing my bulky PISA is a no go!!

I got the Farfella chest freezer. I think it's capacity is 100l or 110l, cannot rem liao.
Anyway, I never go count how many bags it can store but I know for sure cannot store 500 so many.
Right now, my guess is I have about 60 milk bags each holding 200 - 300ml, and 8 Avent Via cups inside 2 drawers.
So total estimated storage is probably just over 100 milk bags

I think for manual pump, Avent is still the best. This is what I gather from googling and reading various forums

For electric pump, Medela is preferred by most mummies

i cant pump after feeding him cos he dun usually sleep aft feeding or takes time to rock him to sleep .
and when i pumped, clear my breast (ouch lo), my BM supply dun come quick enough for the next feed, such that have to supplement with FM everytime..

and he keep changing his feeding pattern or sleeping pattern weekly..

nowadays, he suckle once then push me away and cried out, stop crying, suckle again, push me away and shrieked, suckle, push away... till i fed up lo.. i thot he got wind in tummy so i tried to burp him now n then... but he cried more when i burp him.. after several suckling, pushing, sitting up to burp, he totally dun wan to latch on and cry shriek more.. no choice cos he more hungry and give him FM... sighh...

wah, your bb does sound big, must be very chubby chub chub! last visit to the PD, my gal also 61cm but only weighs 5.79kg! my gal born on 11th. but yes, like what kam mentioned, don't have to be too concerned with the weight as all bbs grow differently, as long as healthy can already.

is diff pd who done for my son circumcision. b4 i go down for 3month injection , dr ong 's nurse say can go for such jab lor.

tat y i go.. next time i will straight away give my son paracetamol immediatly after the jap manz. b4 he get fever or in great discomfort...

Dr Ong say my son, injection still smiling....

but 12 hr later he start crying painfully due to fever..

my gal also flops her head forward or backwards after a while in the bumbo seat. but when i say "where's mummy??" she will lift or turn towards my voice. so i conclude, she is more lazy rather then unable to lift her head :p but ehh...has sam actually fall asleep in his seat in your 2nd photo?? he looks like he has! lol.

what u described is exactly what i went thru with sam. exactly lor! n if i pump, my bm doesn't come back enough to feed him.

even now my bm also not enough. he feeds 140ml every 3h, but i only get maybe 100ml, so definitely have to pump out n stop latching. since he started sleeping at nite n skipping feeds, i use the nite pumps to 'supplement' the day feeds.

oic. diff pd ah, so maybe dr ong cudn't follow up on the case lor. anyway next time jab, u just keep taking ur boy's temp. r u using the braun ear thermometer? if u r, 38deg is fever so u give the paracetamol.

nope he din fall asleep. his head just dropped forward coz it's too heavy.

anyway i kept the bumbo after that. waiting for him to become stronger then let him sit in it. the way his head dropped quite violent leh. worried he'll snap his neck or something. so i decided better play safe n wait till his neck stops flopping

My SUMO and I were sick for some time and we stayed at my mum's place so that she can help to look after us... on friday we finally went back to in laws' place... my FIL said that my boy is skinny.. he slim down already... *NOBODY ever mentioned that my boy is thin except HIM*.. he AGAIN said that i don't have ENOUGH MILK for him that's why he cries for milk so often. *He cries so badly for milk because it was already time for milk but FIL refused to return him to me for feeding!!!!!!!* I have been breastfeeding him since birth..... latching him some more!!!! How on earth he knows i have no milk.. he doesn't know his feeding schedule... he hardly sees us... everything also he says... and force me to feed him with FORMULA milk!!! IDIOT! Damn angry! When my boy wants to sleep, he don't let him sleep.. he want to wake him hp. When it's time for him to sleep, he don't let me make him sleep... end up he cries so badly AGAIN. On sat when we were ready to go to the temple, he quickly drove out with my mil,sils to pray asap.. so that when hb and i reached there, he will "HELP" me look after... *say until so nice but pui lah he doesn't know how to look after one lah*.. and when i got there, my boy zzz liao.. *cannot play with him right.... so ask me to stand one side and get my hb to help me pray!-thought he want to help me look after???? rubbish right.. also HENG lah... i don't want to let him carry!* After that we on the way to go for lunch... told hb tat one hr ltr he might want to drink milk already... then my hb say, dream feed him NOW then later he won't fuss for milk.... *WHY He want me to do that?? because i feed him liao, then he awake liao.. fil can PLAY with him mah!* But i refused to dream feed because i just feed him 2 hours ago! i am trying to feed on schedule but always all these people make me anyhow feed... happy happy ask me feed after 1-2hours.. happy happy ask me wait then feed... wait as in 4-5hrs ltr.. and make him cry even more... and when cry until so jialat, BLAME ME! it's all my FAULT. DAMN IT! I was really so mad... my boy was zzzzz all the way from the temple to the restaurant... he only wake up AFTER we finish and was ready to go to another place without my ils. *i was so HAPPY that my boy did that!* Then at night, reached home i got to wash up my boy etc etc... everyone do all their things... and don't let me SHOWER first... and when all want to sleep liao.. dump my boy back to me.... then i haven't bathe etc... 12am already by then!!! So i got mad... i went to shower.. not even 5mins, i heard him crying... and hb purposely brought my boy to the living room so that his cries will make ALL wake up... and really my FIL came out... *he act until he can calm him down but no lor.. he made him cry even MORE! and guess what...* he stood at my toilet door and made me panic in the toilet... i so scare i will slip and fall AGAIN....... so i quickly stop bathing and wear my clothes.. i never even DRY my body.... i just walk out with my laundry, my hair drippng water... body dripping water.... scolded hb, indirectly scolding fil in the living room, went into the room, slam the door and feed my boy! I hack care... told them off..."next time can you all pls let me bathe first and then if he cries until so badly, can u just try to calm him down first and not make him cry EVEN more! PLus stop standing at the toilet door... i will panic and might slip and fall again!" FIL was laughing all the way when i quarrel with hb right in front of him..... do you know how unhappy i was... do you know how miserable i was.. do you know how haggard i was.... time to sleep, they dont let my boy sleep.. time to drink don't let him drink... end up BLAME me! Have they ever thought about me? Oh ya when we were EATING right, my hb tried to make him wake up but fil said NO... let him zzz cos he want to eat in peace!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

KiKi, there no place to shampoo baby but cause the water is warm water so no chlorine and etc.. so normally kids dun need to bath there one..

Unfortunately I can't join you girls for the swim tomorrow cause something cropped up at home.. Enjoy urselves!

Cos FIL pissed me off so much until i always complaint to hb.. many times i never complaint...until i really buay tahan i complaint... and still useless.... all my hb says is.. don't care him! Of course i know don't care him but it's just irritating to me! And so brainless... he even ask me to "feed" my boy with fish, prawn, sotong etc when 4 months!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! use these food to wipe his mouth like that..

Eversince baby is out fil piss me even more.... i tolerate since 2006! I'm getting my keys pretty soon but i know my hb is reluctant to shift out asap..... so i use the excuse as once i shift out settle everything i will get a job... so the later he delay the later i get to work lor... as long as i'm still in their hse,i will find all ways to get out as much as possible! Hate them so much... everything i do also wrong like that.. feed breastmilk also wrong....

jiayou! u already ren so long, u can make it one! keep thinking abt when u move to ur new place.. u'll be able to do whatever u want, feed bb, bathe bb, let bb sleep whenever u want

I have realised it is somewhat futile to have the baby sleep through the night, but then you get woken up by swollen boobs...
I think it's much easier to wake up and latch than to wake up and pump!</font>
