like now i realised my bb has a fussy time ard 5-7pm..can feed and feed non stop...but after that she's back to normal..
so its a time of the day that she just wanna be nurse or wan bb with her...
so i wont think that my milk not enough meh? why feed 2 hours still hungry??
its not a matter of hungry..but she just wanan suckle ba...

but according to kellymom, its some fussy time of the day...where they just want to nurse..or could be milk supply usually lesser in evening compared to morning..so they could be wanting more..
or they are preparing for a longer streth of sleep...usually after the fussy time..my girl tend to sleep for abt 3 hours instead of the 2 hours feed..
so... its good to be recording down all the feeding times..
to see a pattern... hehehe... :p
i record the feeding times and the times i change diapers... keke...

now i got a few bottles in the fridge and freezer..they no longer say i no milk...
hehehe..all thanks to the diligent pumping.. kekeke..:p
now i si bei happy la....
i can have enough to feed her for one whole day even if i go out loh..

i think..coz wholesale they alredy charge her cheaper... so... they want her to bear shipping costs...
and we pay CC coz charges also rite?? they want her to TT...so got bank charges she need to bear also..

they charge us full price..and we pay US$37 for shipping ma...
so there's limitations to wholesalers loh...
she also find it weird.. but after calculation, not very worth it for her, coz she wanted to absorb shipping costs.,and give free local postage..

but the anus part stil got pus.. i use toilet paper wipe and see...got yellow greenish spots.. i think its pus la..
but yest gynae says a little infection.. but its okay...recovering well..
my stitch is ultimate liaoz..like i say...it cant stretch anywhere beyong the anus.... so its a very long cut + tear...

i was in pain like in the 1st week... cant sit and get up properly...
then calledd gynae..he asked me to soak salt water till i see him yest..
i complacent..pain then soak.. no pain no soak..yest got say by gyn... like that u are delaying the healing process..
so now i guai guai...soak twice a day 20min each time in warm salt water...

it not painful but still infection la.so not realy fully well yet...

haha..ur boys all have gold butt..must use good diapers.. whahha...;P

wipe dry with tissue cos sometimes de wet wipes wet ma. so juz to dry his butt, in case wet den he uncomfortable. den moist when wrap up will cause rashes ma. anyway tissue cheap cheap. juz wipe lo =p

i use cotton with water cos is pure water, better for de skin, rather den all use de wipes. wipes sure got some chemical or alcohol.
 
My boys scream like hell when changing diaper so we skip the tissue wipe dry part. I think it's okay so far because they don't have any rashes yet.

I think I will start using destin and stop powdering them..thanks for all the advice once again.

Can i ask you mummies what color is your breast milk har? How come mine is so yellowish har. My breast engorememnt kick in yetsreday. Now is hard like stone. I try pumping and manage to get alittle milk out only and my breast still very pain. Oh my gosh..........
 
Tiwi, if u just delivered, your breast milk should be yellowish.. its collostrum... after 4 days, it should slowly turn lighter in colour but breast milk should look a bit yellowish...

Yours is not milk lah, it's COLOSTRUM. And it is supposed to be yellowish/oily looking. Pls do not throw away hor!! It's the best for bb!!
Try cold compress to ease the swelling/pain. And continue to pump/latch! If got anymore qns, you know where to ask them.

By the way, I have Desitin for sale if any mummy wants... I actually stocked up on Desitin but *touch wood* till now no need.. then I was thinking if any mummies here want, I can sell my stocks.. lol

But didn't get from BP so cannot sell so low price... Each tube @ $11 each... I only have 3 to let go cause I bought 6 tubes.. so going to keep 3 tubes for my baby in case...

Hi experienced mummies out there!

Require your advise desperately pls.... my edd is this Sunday and until now still no show. Doctor advise to induce to tomorrow or c-sect cos baby consider quite big (3.5k) for my size. I am quite petite 1.54m and 47kg(pre-pregnancy weight). Thus doctor mentioned chances of natural birth 50%.

Do you think I should still try natural or just go for c-sect? Cos induced birth usually take longer labour time right? Cos if emergency c-sect will be double cost right? I really do not know which one is a better choice cos if dun try natural I dun feel good but if were to try then $ and the time for labour is another concern?
Help me pls....

Acneery Gal... my doc said my baby was huge like 3.8/ 4kg and it was freaking me out, so I was induced a few days after my EDD and I hated it plus she was 3.4kg which was just fine. That being said I said yes to being induced because I really didn't want a c-section, I know I wouldn't enjoy the healing process.

Ya I also dun wish to go for c-sect but if emergency c-section would be worse cos double pain plus double $!

Then of course I panicked and quickly contact everyone for recommendation what! And the ML I contacted happened to be able to start immediately that afternoon so of course I ok loh! Who knows Mona will sms 1 - 2 hours later and say can do on sunday. She also never tell me earlier to wait while she try to change her schedule? And cannot expect me to fly kite for the ML I agreed upon right? It's not ethical what.. imagine if I did it to her... Gee.. she still angry with me.. wah biang...

Reason I don't wanna continue with my ML is that I do not find her as good or strong as my previous one. I did not take my previous one is because though she is good, she always fly me kite last min, never come for the session... all kinds of excuses... but after each massage, I can feel the air expelled (farting etc) and many trips to pee (getting rid of water retention) which I did not experience with the current one. So I decided to try out another ML loh...

Uh, my wound also very bad... supposedly with vacuum birth makes it worse..

BABY SLEEPING THROUGH THE NITE
ok, I'm so tired, my baby wakes up like every 1.5 to 2 hours from midnight onwards and sleep like for 3 to 4 hours during the day!! she is getting her night and day mixed up!

Need to know when I can start training her to sleep through the night...do I just let her cry herself to sleep?

Need to check with u all ar, my ger nv poop from Wed 1am till this morning 10am lo.. then suddenly at 10am she silently pooped.. and its alot lo.. until the whole diaper not enuff.. up till the waist and soak out of the diaper onto the nappy n her pink netted bouncer n drip down with her pee onto my sofa lo.. isit normal like tt? its like damn massive one..I so worried.. Like LS type..

*hi5, same here. for my #1 there was one night my hubby carried her till angry, put her in cot and let her cry. she sleeps through the night since then. that happened when she was 3+ months old

ermm...maybe dun sound too right but for my own personal practice, i give bb EBM at nite also for this reason..
coz i think nite time already very sleepy..to wake up and suck for milk abit tiring..so i give her 90ml EBM..and she can sleep longer.. about 3hours plus minus..
day time i latch and she needs to be fed every 2 hours...
and.... there's a old wives tale abt bb who dun sleep at nite and sleep in the day...is to wear their clothes opposite when they go to sleep at nite..
hahahha...no logic at all..
but in a way...after my CL does that to my girl..she does sleep at nite..
previously she dun sleep and keep waking up...
anyway..doesnt harm anyone by wearing her shirt opposite...means button supposed to be in front rite? wear it such that button at her back..
the back at her front.....

u can try...dunno if it helps.. haha... :p

BB vomit milk
my gal tends to vomit her milk esp when she's greedy and want to feed longer than 20mins. I mean vomit is really vomit a lot. She does it last evening and just again. Is this normal? my mum keeps saying it's normal. Previously she has also vomitted before but not so frequently. Should i bring her to a PD?

my boy has been nursing for 15 mins only for the past 1 wk. as they grow older they r more efficient in removing milk from our breasts and their suction power is stronger so can get more milk in a shorter time. only nite time he will take 25 mins i dunno why he like to drink so much at nite!

i think its normal. cos previously my kids r also like that, all fast drinker when they reach almost 1 mth old but all growing well also. SHELLEd's K also only nurse 10-15 mins each time n can last 2.5 to 3 hours if i not wrong. as long as baby is sucking actively within this 15 mins and u hear lots of gulping n swallowing should be fine.
 
BB sleeping Day more than night.

Sharing from what the newborn baby handbook says.

Your baby has a reverses day/night rhythm. This is a common problem. Most babies tend to sleep well in the day, but come night, they fuss and stay awake for hours. They are happy of you carry them in your arms but start yelling as soon as you put them down. If you offer a feed, they will suck for a few minutes and fall asleep, only to wake up less than an hour for more feeds. In fact, they are not hungry, all they want is to be cuddled.

Fortunately, the strong inborn body clock will set itself right and the normal day/night rhythm will be established by 2-3 weeks' rest as you can in the day when BB sleeps

i was 1.55m and 45kg pre preggy weight before my 1st kid. i delivered naturally with epi to 3.86kg ds. i was induced as ds was estimated to be 3.4kg at full term.

i've got a friend who's also abt my size, she gave birth to her 2 sons, 1 ds i knew was 4.2kg i think the 2nd ds was also around that weight.

i've another friend who also around the same size, she had an e c-section cos she was fully dilated but her pelvic didn't open up.

of course having said that size of mummy doesn't really matters but the ability of the pelvic to open up to allow the bb to delivers naturally matters. even when fully dialated, should the pelvic bone not able to open, e c-section still happens.

I have to stop her or mostly ask her what time did baby last feed. If less than 2 hours, i will refuse to let her feed him...but like that i feel like i deprive him of food

A friend advised me to check if BB is REALLY hungry by sticking our litle finger in their mouth. If they suck really hard, it means they are hungry. That'll prevent ourselves ( Whom are at the brink of losing our sanity ) from overfeeding them.

Been reading all these posts by u gals. My bb gal is now on total FM, though I'm still trying to increase my BM supply but the supply is really miserable, pump 30min only max <20ml from both breasts come out, so sad - really envy u gals that have no prob w the milk flow. Every drop of EBM is so ever precious to me. Been regreting tat I've not tried hard enough in the beginning stage to BF her, but it really heart pain every time to see her cry after latching due to not enough milk flow so succumb to FM.

I think my wound is slightly better.. but somewhere at the bottom area still hurts... kinda sharp pain at times... making me so scared... and dying for the pain to subside...... cos no matter how i sit or lie, it hurts.. i change my pad every 2-3 hrs despite very little blood already.. cos each time i pee or poo, i change,... i would wash for few mins and dry it before spraying.....

I'm like taking care of baby most of the time.. at times hb will help me... and i still have to listen to all her craps his craps... mil keep scolding my baby naughty when she hear him cry. Say do nothing but cry, must whack! i already sibei dulan... still can come and take rubbish... fil even worse.. order me to do this do that... in short it's hell staying here when confinement. Thank god i am gg back to my mum's place to do confinement soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Or else i will kisiao. He even ask me dont close door in the day time... i cannot even rest or nap well.. u know my bottom pain, i keep shift my legs up and down... my bottom sure kena exposed mah... not nice right.. my hb not ard, then i close the dr lock the dr... shiok!

Newborn size i think. It's sample. So we just used it. I am still using huggies and i think it's not bad. Heeee.... Still wearing newborn size though... my nephew used drypers also rash..... but his skin also quite sensitive.... however he can use only huggies lor....

I am a person who CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT HER NAILS PAINTED, and, I cannot live with short fingernails too, My nailbed is extended out so if I cut them short, they hurt when I touch things. And I type retarded with short nails too.. I've never had my nails this short in 10yrs and I did it for my BB. ( She better appreciate it! )

Actually to me the nail polish affecting the baby is bullshit.. X3 Why? Because we're applying it on our nails.. A Harder surface? Not our skin... So I just carried on with it...

If nail polish was bad... My working environment would be worse ain't it? I'm inhaling perm lotion. Rebonding Cream... Hair color... Everyday! XD

My bb came out fine... ( Slight Jaundice but it's normal to the majority ) ^^

Does anyone BF your babies at nights ? I find my baby just want to sleep after finishing one breast and have hard time waking him up to BF the other breast. Hence, my night feeds can take up to 45min.. so tiring as he wakes up at least twice at nights. Still doing my 1st mth confinement.

Should I express out and bottle feed at my 2nd mth - will that be faster ?

BTW, does anyone have a good babysitter or nanny to recommend ? I am desperately looking for one in Dec 2009 when i go back to work. Pls email me at [email protected] if u have someone to recommend. Thanks!

nex mth i take care of bb alone and i need to cook, i cant find my usual utensils how?.. now my small bowls i need to climb stool high up to cabinet to carry down glass bowls lo... idiot rite...

she argued my hse like garang guni... i always keep things, a lot of keepsakes stuff, i buy a lot of things... piangz..
pple buy me stuff lo.. where i go shopping nowadays... pple sent me gifts.. of cos i keep for for keepsake wat...

y dun try infant care? dey start taking bb as small as 2mths old. n govt got subsidy for full time working mum. 600bucks subsidy. so if fees is 1.2k, u only pay 600 a mth. i m sending my son to infant care when i go back to wk. but infant care at my place only got vacancy in feb. so from dec to jan, my dad will help. =p

I don't give them my fingertip. I curl up my little finger and let them suck on the "joint" of my finger instead. Safer, cos won't risk poking bb, and cleaner cos won't end up "feeding" bb with any dirt under fingernails.
My nails are always quite long, and usually painted (until recently when I have so much to do that I have no time to paint) so i've always been letting them do this instead of using fingertip.

If bb is hungry, they will suck so hard until you cannot pull your finger out.
If the suck is weak, means they may want to suck for comfort.

Hurhur. I also had my nails long and painted all the way for #1. Now come #2, I really no time/energy to paint liao!! I also cannot cut my nails short due to protruding nail bed. My shortest is still quite long one lor. Otherwise it will hurt and bleed easily upon constant contact. I desperately need to go for manicure SOON. My cuticles are in a terrible mess.

Hey! I let bb suck the back of my finger too!!! But the my HB said scared the Joint hurt the gums >.< So I stopped doing it... So use the back of the pinky can??? Dammit. Then I clean my nail polish for what?! Pfft~

I've had my nails painted all the way man.. Woo~ No nail polish I got no confidence... Or maybe I'm too used to it.

you doing the washing etc for your baby too? Hehehe, that day very funny, my MIL nag at me for going out with hubby to nearby mall, say confinement cannot do this, then I said since I already broke so many confinement rules by washing, taking care of baby since MIL is always going out or watching TV (I only said since she is so busy) then what's the problem with breaking another confinement rule... she stunned... ooops.

Got once she forbade me to feed my #1 when she was 1 yr+ and having fever. She said not even milk leh! Then she went to buy glucose water for my gal! I was like.. speechless.... but of course, i heck cared and still give my gal food lah, and we spoke to the PD who said it's all rubbish. I think my MIL think the glucose water is like the drip in hospital issit...
 
Ooh.. got a sensitive (??) question for some mummies here, those with boys... uh.. when and where do you guys go to circumcise baby? My hubby wants it done for my boy but I'm clueless about it.

And not painful meh? I was all for "freedom of action" and human rights for the baby, but hubby was adament.

for circumcision, u should consult a paediatric surgeon. i have contact if u do need one. he did surgery for my #3 cos he was born with undescended testicle.
