rach, abt the engage thingy, ur sihu is right...I don't know abt others bt i experienced the same thing, means only during delivery head of #2 and #3 will then start to engage...bt #1's head oredi engaged few weeks b4 due.

I just called my gynae's office and the nurse said they will do for me ard 36-37wks. I told her i don't recall being tested for it when I had #1, then the nurse flip my records and said they did it for me in May 2007. Then she said I'm very blur leh!

her gynae said that cos she opted for elective c section thats why he never tested her and in the end her waterbag burst prematurely so one thing lead to another she has vaginal delivery and her baby was infected. however my gynae said whether its c section or normal delivery it doesnt hurt just to take the test to be cautious cos there is a very small percentage c section babies can be infected too. my frd said no point suing the gynae or wat cos her baby is gone and she just wanna close the case to prevent more hurt to herself.

my gynae put me on antibiotics since week 35 during my last preg. i was thinking why so early since i usually only deliver after 39 weeks. thank God he did that cos my gal was one early creature! she came out at week 37, gave me such a shock. and it was so fast there was no way they could put me on antibiotic drip in the labour room too.

i think if need to take the strep b test, i would need to top up cos my package is very basic only includes urine test, ultrasound and normal consultation lor.. any extra tests and even multivits, DHA, i gotta pay one. I used to worried abt having c-sect for #2 coz in the delivery suit bb's head hasn't even engaged (mine was induced delivery coz of history of miscarriages), BUT THEN, surprisely, once water bag is burst artifically, bb's head 'auto' turned down and my cervix fully dilate within an hour...

nt sure how sturdy it is or hw's the quality bt guessed shld be ok since we are nt using it to hold heavy items. for the 5tier that i haf bought, i intend to use 1 drawer for diapers, 1 for towels and hankies, 1 for bedsheets, blankets and pillow cases, 2 for bb's clothes...
on top of it can place items like nappy cream, powder etc

the swab test (sorry earlier typo error i said swap test
is like a papsmear lor. its to test for the group strep B. my gynae told me i'd be doing it at my next visit. i forgot to ask him is it only test for Grp Strep B or also can test other things. i suspect i might have a yeast infection.
lately like increase in discharged, making me quite worried.

my next visit is 24 jul, i'd be about 32 wks then. initially i spoke to my gynae and asked if i cld test earlier, coz i worried i'd pop earlier like jenifur/lilac. but my gynae said too earlier test no use, because at the later part might get infected again, so normally the recommended test period is 32 wks onwards, then results take maybe 2wks or so... so by the time the antibiotics are prescribed to you maybe its abt 36wks, which in normal cases is around the period the baby is likely to pop.
i dunno if its costly, coz i haven't tested yet mah, thats why asking the other mummies here if anyone else has gone for it already. hehe..after i do mine, i'd update here ok?

My gynae did the test when i was in my 24th week, just got my result last Saturday. I see alot of gynae doing the test quite late...but will it matter which week it is done?

Strep B test :
My gynae did the test when i was in my 24th week, just got my result last Saturday. I see alot of gynae doing the test quite late...but will it matter which week it is done?

My hubs can cook ok lah. It's edible, and some dishes he cooks are super nice. Like his Emperor's Chicken. Wah.. talk about it now I also feel like eating.
He won't get cheated at the market one lah, he's very smart that way. And he'll be having 2wks paternity leave, so he should be able to cook for me. But he says he'll be "on call" to go back to work, so now not too sure want to cook for me or just get catering.

i cant rem how much gynae charged me i think its not included in package. also not sure if they can test for yeast n strep b with one single swab cos they must have enuf culture to test for 2 infections. u ask ur gynae?
i dun think need 2 weeks to know result right? few days only if im not wrong. my gynae used to put me on antibiotics right from week 35 all the way till i deliver cos u r right if treat too early it may come back before u deliver.

I guess it depends on your hubs' company lor. Some companies nice, then they will give. Some give paternity leave, but deduct from annual leave. My hubs quite lucky, cos his ex-company and this one both allow him to take paternity leave. But this one he will need to be "on call" to go back if needed, cos he's got more responsibilities than his last job.

btw, someone mentioned e disposable cloth can use 2 each time? i tot can use w n share? clean hair one then use to clean body?

aft last sat's lesson, i was q confident of carrying newborns.. sun went to attend nephew's 1 mth party.. gosh.. my hand tembled trying to pick him up.. i dun dare!! coz they squirm ard.. confidence deflated again.. i wonder hw i m gg to handle e baths.. haiz

bb estimated 1.7kg heavy.. my little fatty... seems very fat hor.. for wk 30/31 le...
my doc says the swab test to be done at wk 36 for me.. other than that nothing to worry... forgot to ask how much is the test though..
i asked abt bb position.. he say bb's head down already (somewhere heading downwards position after clarification).. shld be no prob for normal delivery...

As for the pads I believe this is the only problem I see with your order, so I am sorry for the mix-up with these items. The waterproof,quilted is the same as the water absorbent, quilted we had to repacked them because they are not water proof they absorb water. So the true mistake here is that you received less 2-packs and more water absorbent and it is only off by 2 items so I can either ship the 2 incorrect items or I can give you a discount on the 2 incorrect items. Please let me know if you would like the 2 items replaced or refunded.

I just replied to her, and i'm not sure whether we can even replace or refund, because if she needs me to ship the items back to USA in order to get refund/replacement, then very defeat purpose cos shipping won't be cheap lor. I think we'll just leave it be?
I just damn angry why they never inform via email about OOS items one lor. Like quietly just refund or change the item's size, and never even let me know. Quite sucks leh.

practise make perfect...with my 1st borned, i haf problem picking her up for the 1st time during the hospital stay...make a few attempt b4 i managed to hold her in my arm...me never carry any bb b4 and nt to mention newborned!!! the 1st newborned i carried is my gal lor...
bt doll and bb is real different lor...anyway we will somehw be very gd at it very very soon...it's a very natural thing...

According to Vpost, shipment has arrived in Singapore today 4.12pm. They should be sending it to me tmr. Will update again when I receive it and go thru the items. I believe some items OOS because I got another refund on my credit card, but BBmall didn't inform me which ones. Will let you guys know which items are OOS. yikes! thats a lot of antibiotics to have. hmm... i will ask my gynae when he will start me on it (if i do have the strep B).
