farnie hor... some say can take, some say to avoid.
1st trimester cannot take "cool" stuff like grass jelly and herbal tea... i accidentaly took herbal tea and suffered stomach cramps badly...
recent ones i heard: 3rd trimester take coconut juice to cool body and give bb nice smooth skin so wont erupt heat rash.. cos we are having "heaty" bodies now..
heard the same thing abt taking heaty food to warm up post-natal bodies.. =)

we still can go out la.. cos we need to bring bb out for chk-up... just need to be careful..

i thinking to standby a formula tin too.. in case milk supply not enuff.. although i cant find which brand available..
my mum says can mix formula and EBM to let bb drink so bb can feel fuller and not take 2 hourly feeds..

ya lor, i think so too. but i've heard stories of CL buying FM secretly and feeding to bb at nites when mummy n daddy are sleeping also leh. coz they want peace and wanna shut up the bb at nite so they also can rest.

ya i got the biggest sheet size to put under the bed sheet and under my bedsheet also so nite time leaking the mattress will not kenna...
when my gal have fever also put so she will puke to the area of blue sheets!!!

michelle - if i can go out for sure i will go de .... of course will walk walk here and there de... can't forever stay in bed... juz slow walk not RUN!! so it dosen't hurt that much lar... and not BIG steps walk small small steps walk lar... gentle lady mah must walk gently like those 3inch foot!!!

kiki - milk powder no need standby de NTUC sure have de!! anytime also can get!!! But during my first we did partial formula my gal due to jandice... but eventually i still kind of success in bf her... so dun worries too much....

when u reach the end there will be ways of doing it!!!

kiki no worries u got breast!! juz stuff the bb with it juz that u might not have enuff of sleep... it be stressful and tiring for the being of bf.. so juz keep going... regardless of how much milk u can have no worries juz stuff with both breast.. BUT The consequences is Must take note in middle of nite bb cry due to hunger or due to colic... coz if due to bb juz wan ur breast as pacifier later u will have hard time to kick this habit!!
TAKE NOTE BB Cry dosen't mean HUNGRY!!!

MILK POWDER
Juz mine thots only har not that the others milk powder not good har... Juz purely personnal feelings... Only use NTUC as guideline!!!
Can take Nestle NAN. As so far only this brand dun have any offer. Offer only in the exhibitions. the once time offer is buy 2 tins get a small one free but only once!!! Maybe i suaku but din see it....
Then the other time is when milk power got problem... NEstle say till VERY BIG their powder is no problem ... i think that time even dumex also got issue!!!
further as mention this is personal, not all bb will like this milk powder some will choose others as each bb is diff... so it is very subjective as what milk powder to buy!

Luckily both my hubby and mum very very pro BF

Cos my aunt told my mum, BF bb are stronger and smarter. Maybe u can ask your aunt to or some other family member to talk to your mum lor.

hmmm.. then i must ask my hubby how he feel abt stand-by a tin formula milk.. if he support me fully.. then i insist on fully BF!
then i must get the tea from MIM to help boost milk supply!... spend more $$$...

i dun think (or i dun want.. haha) my MIL will be staying over nite at my place... dun have place for her to sleep anyways.. dun want to "torture" her by sleeping on sofa bed...

infant milk sample... think quite difficult to get infant milk sample from supermarket. last time my #1 got jaundice, stayed in hospital, then i asked for some samples from hospital, they are in form of bottles, ready to drink that kind. but end up i drank when the milk was about to expire since baby on breastmilk after discharged

Juz keep bf bb abt 2 to 3 hr if u think bb is hungry ... otherwise must check if bb is REALLY hunger or seeking for pacificer!!

Camera - HP can use already coz mostly 5mp(mine 8mp, wishing for the latest i think is 10mp).... camcorder suppose no time and mood for it!!

Sometimes this is the downside of living with in-laws/parents lah. They have their own set of ideas. My milk came in about a week after Joshua was born. I was told I'm quite early in terms of milk production. I already have colostrum in my tits right now as we speak... Sometimes I will leak a bit of milk/colostrum already.

If you're really keen to BF, then you have to PERSIST. Ignore what they say. After a few weeks when BB grows chubby and is healthy, naysayers will shut up on their own accord. And if you need BF support, there's always the internet (and mommies who are more than happy to despatch some advice).

Oh, 1 thing you have to bear in mind hor. If bb cries, it is very very common that these ppl will say things like "Must be your milk no good, or not enough milk, that's why bb keep crying cos he/she is hungry." You have to learn how to ignore that. It won't be easy, but you'll have to try.

Late night want to buy milk powder then go any NTUC petrol kiosks, or Mustafa lor. But convince your hubs that you won't need FM. Sorry to say this lah, but your hubs don't sounds doubtful of your natural ability to BF lor.

I dunno leh. Mine never shrink, altho i know other moms who have. I wonder if it has anything to do with my religious application of breast cream before and after preg... Oh, and after I stop BF my #1, i also bought some bust enhancement creams to apply to reduce/prevent sagging and shrinking. I was 36C before preg, after I stop BF #1, I was 36C again. Maybe you can try creams also?

i started going out with bb when he was 3 weeks old. mine pooped and puked a lot during first 3 months, so always have to bring at least 2 sets of change when going out for more than 3 hours. even though i was breastfeeding fully, still needed a big enough bag to carry the stuff. i used a deuter backpac at first, then switched to allerhand cos nicer looking. recently discovered okiedog, that is so much lighter than allerhand. so i'll be getting rid of my allerhand. it's super used anyway cos i bought it for a trip to cairo and two trips to indonesia last year. cairo is super polluted and jakarta is not much better. i haven't given the bag a good scrub after the trips. it's just collecting dust at home now. so if you or anyone on the thread is interested in a totally free (but very used) allerhand messanger bag in red colour, let me know! in case you've gotten the bag from me, and would like to throw it away, i won't be offended too.

i bought the red snaz. which colour did you get? i am most prob not getting a pram cos i figured sling/carrier would be easier for me when i go out with bb alone. regarding milk powder, it sounds like you may be potentially facing a lot of pressure from your MIL (and maybe a little from your husband too). try to be thick skinned enough to just breastfeed and ignore the comments like bb crying cos not enough milk etc. if your MIL is the conservative type and you're quite liberal, just breastfeed in front of her. she might be shy and look away, therefore cannot nag in front of you whenever you're breastfeeding. medically, not all babies take to cow's milk powder well. i know of toddlers who will be severly sickened by cow's milk (mine is one such toddler) and there's another one whom i know was colicky because of cow's milk. after the mum switched to soy milk, he was alright. just trying to help you think of additional reasons why breast is still the best, and standing by FM is no good.

i think if it's a normal healthy pregnancy can eat pineapple lah. i ate pineapples 3-4 times this week. yesterday i ate 1/2 a small pineapple, cos i bought too much and husband was too full after his dinner to help with the fruit. dunno why, but like katherine, i just felt like eating. must be some third trimester craving.

i ordered 17 boxes from sweetest moments (very nice packaging) for my #1's first month. i kept 1 box to eat myself, then gave the rest to my parents and mil. they could distribute to whoever they wanted: their siblings, neigbours, colleagues. for my own friends and colleagues, no cakes but i invited them for a buffet lunch at lao beijing instead. so that they can meet the bb too.

Hmmm... i will have buffet too.. but because i am staying with in laws and not my own flat yet, i have problems again. (1) If i hold at in laws house, my own family & relatives will not be able to come to in laws place for sure because it's really too small - i have very big family. (2) if hold at my parent's place's instead, confirm in laws and their relatives KPKB - no need to say. (3) Book a chalet - i really have no more spare cash to do that. SO i was still thinking so do the buffet in the day at in laws place to cater to them then buffet in the evening at my mum's place for their relatives etc. It's indeed super tiring for me, baby and hubby but no choice. That's when people supposed to help not helping and people who wanna help can't help much cos of 3gu6po etc. Then i think of the reg eggs all those right.. thought of getting those relatives - a bigger box for them to share, closer friends - couple box. And i think it gonna sum up to alot too. But if don't give to close friends, like so "CAT". SIGH. I also no idea leh. Don't wanna think so much on this but just have to think of one way. Actually did thought of many many ways before, but because of this and that, cannot. This not happy that not happy. People only open mouth KPKB, then end up hb and i stress... just like what happened when we plan for wedding. SIGH. Without a job, without own flat, it's just so TOUGH. Thank god i'm shifting out next year! PHEW!
