yeap, had the massage done in my mbr. she jus need me to self provide 2 towel to cover up like those massage places.. another 1 extra to place it on the bed to lay on it, as she apply massage oil on my body.. so the oil won't stain my bedsheets. jus lay on the bottom end of my bed.
if i went to those spa places to do pre-natal massage, i tink it wont cost me just $50.. at spa places, their normal massage already starts from $70...

=) katherine

i should be going down to the exhibition on weekend. hopefully, parking is not a nightmare!!

anyone of you experiencing rashes on your belly? Its like those insect bites. I'm having them now, the doctor said its hormonal change. Feeling very terrible as at night i can't sleep well due to the itching. My hands, legs also have those small rashes. I applied baby oil, clarins treatment oil, pricky heat powder, doctor cream, taking cold showers but still itchy. Any idea on how to stop it? Really cant tolerate! =(

purplecloud

U got try moisturiser? I kena such rashes very early - like in first 2 mths! Doc gave me this moisturiser called Topicrem. Works better than Clarins Oil & easily absorbed, not oily like Clarins.

Jul: I'm going to watsons later to see if there is any suitable moisturiser/lotion/cream? Where did you buy this Topicrem? Are you still having rashes now? I feel like a monkey, keep feeling itchy and scratching, even though i tell myself not to do so. I read online this condition is PUPPP?

Digging vs Kicking

Btw do any of u experience the BB digging ard nowadys rather than kicking? Mine seems to be digging his elbows into my pelvic area, rather than kicking now. Hurts a bit *sulk*

Then suddenly bladder area will clench, like kena squeezed. sigh..

purpleclouds,
just to share my experience of PUPPP. i had it for my first pregnancy, along with very bad eczema on my limbs. the itch is terrible. i switched my bath products to cetaphil, applied steriod creams on the stomach, visited the gyne for MCs when the itch got real bad (stress can aggravate the condition) and wore 100% cotton tops to relieve the itch. but the rashes (once it's there) didn't go away until post delivery. for my case, the PUPPP rashes enveloped both the tummy and breast areas.

for this pregnancy, as a preemptive effort, i took puriton regularly since the second trimester kicked in (so that i would be drowsy at night and won't scratch my eczema/tummy). i also applied steriod creams (elomet and bethamethasone) whenever the slight rash seem to appear on the tummy. so far, i haven't experienced any tummy rashes yet, and though my eczema is still as bad as my first pregnancy, at least i don't think i've got PUPPP this time round *keeping my fingers crossed*

did your gyn recommend that you visit a dermatologist? in the meantime, there's a lot of PUPPP information that you can surf online. the images are very horrible looking though, i can only stand glancing at them, after that i have to hurriedly scroll away to read just the text. i took a picture of my ugly rash-infested tummy just prior to delivery. that's the only pic i took of my naked tummy in 1st pregnancy. if you want, i can show you how the PUPPP looks like at the end of the third trimester, but it may spoil your appetite for the day.

purplecloud

Got from my gynae. I am trying to find a cheaper source coz gynae charging me $33!!! Maybe I shd conduct a spree like jenifur hor? But dunno how to go abt it haha.

sandwich
yes! so shiok now sch holidays i have been waking up real late! and sleeping as late as i want to cos i dun have to get up at 6am! what a bliss! also v happy my boys did well - they were 2nd and 3rd in class with only difference of 1 mark.

yes we gg ahead with aus trip. i think everywhere we go we cant avoid it leh. just dun step into US lah, high risk area. just treat it as normal flu lah i dun really fear. pray lor what to do. but i gonna ask gynae this thurs when i see him if tamiflu will pose a risk to us preg women?

JUL
yah lah sch holi also means i will be busier with kids ard me 24/7. gotta plan for activities for them lor.

JUL
oh yes i get lots of shoving and diggings nowadays too. sometimes i feel baby pushing my rib cage! we will get more of these in 3rd trimester.

jul,
i can send it to you, no prob. as long as it doesn't kill your appetite. PM me your email address!

mamato6Js,
i took a flu vaccine in the first trimester, before i knew i was preg. i'm not sure if it's tamiflu though

Jul: my gynae prescribed this cream: “Temprosone Cream” but can’t remember how much, the invoice is at home. I think such cream need to be prescribed by a doctor ley..

Sandwich: reading your msg that it won’t go away till post delivery, i wonder if I can tolerate until Sept. I just hope that Sept comes real fast!!

Currently, i’m feeling frustrated and no mood because of all these itching. My breasts areas also have. Now, i’m using cetaphil for showers. After showering, I apply clarins, baby oil on my belly, hands and legs but after a couple of hours, the itching starts. I heard can apply calamine lotion??

When I saw my gynae last Monday, the affected areas were my upper belly only, he provided me with the Temprosone Cream to apply. If it gets worse (*touchwood*), I suppose I need to see him again. Puriton is a pill isit? At least u’re doing something to prevent it. For me, I never expected to get this. I thought of going KK hospital, but I doubt they can help me much except just prescribing creams.

Yea I saw some pictures online, it was scary…. I don’t think I dare to look at your picture. Was your stomach like a red ball? How did you manage to tolerate until full term??

hi myfavchoco
i get the pain in my belly button too.. like bb is pushing it out for me.. not only at nite time though..

hi purpleclouds
My friend gotten the PUPPP and the moment she gave birth.. the rashes slowly dissipated... she gotten on whole body except face..

hi mama to 6Js
congrats.. ur boys are very clever =)
wish i can go on holiday too... lol

Hmm.. my bigger prob now is pimples! I'm getting them on my cleavage area! How ah? Scrubbing & washing dun seem to work.

hi jess - I read online that PUPPP mostly happens to women who are having a boy..but i'm having a girl!

Jul - you can try using cetaphil to wash the area and apply pimple cream?

hi purpleclouds.. yes i read on that too.. my friend's got a bb boy.. mine's a boy too.. so i'm worried i might get in the 3rd tri. My doc says dun worry.. as long as dun use cocoa butter to apply on body.. that what he says.. gd thing i wasn't using that..
"He even joked: how come there is so many cocoa butter pdt on the market.. bcos none of them works..." lol...

Hi Jul_04
i also had pimples mostly all over my body.. front n back.. irritating.. it comes on and off timing...

Yeah I also heard a lot of feedback abt allergies to cocoa butter.

purplecloud

Dunno what kinda pimple cream I can use?

Jess - I did use palmer's cocoa butter for stretch marks to apply initially on my belly. U mean its the cause of it? Before pregnancy, i have slight ezema on my arms and i know i have sensitive skin. Pregnancy most likely made it worse now. how about you? must moisturise alot ok?

Jul04
Yes lots of digging from bb recently. Near ribcage somemore. Can get quite painful. Bladder also sometimes feels funny..

Jess,
ur gyna says that cocoa butter dont works?? i'm using palmer's cocoa butter stretch mark cream leh... ohh... should i consider changing brand then??? hmm...

sandwich
tamiflu is the anti viral med used to treat h1n1, its not a flu vaccine lor. i read on internet that this med is not tested on preg women thus its not safe for first trimester. but now we almost 3rd trimester just in case suay suay get it, at least we know whether its safe for us not. Dr Khaw already said community spreading of h1n1 in spore in only a matter of time also. and he is worried most abt the pregnant women, ppl with asthma and the elderly in particular

Purpleclouds
Doc nv say it will cause the rashes directly.. I guess he was trying to say it no good no matter what conditions we trying to apply on.
I developed slight sensitive skin over the years.. now using Ahava organic body wash and aloe vera/ clarins toning oil as moisturiser.. as and when only.. lazy to apply :p

milkyway
Since my gynea advised this way.. i would believe him la..
I dunno if i should advise u to change brand. maybe u can get a sample of the clarins toning oil from the counter.. I'm still using from the sample bottle.. hehe

So i'm not the only one with rashes!! I got rash around my upper thighs and, worse, around my nipples lor! I realise it seems to be caused by wearing bra, maybe cos not breathable, then I've been sweating a lot cos so damn warm.

I even stopped applying bust cream cos I dunwan to make it worse. It clears up for a few days, then come back again. Been like that for weeks already.

RE: Palmer's cocoa butter

I used Palmer's during pregnancy with #1 and it made me itch really bad! Once I stopped, no problem already. So I believe what Jess's gynae said.

I'm using this ROSKEN Bio Serum now on my tummy now, and so far so good. Been using almost a month already. It's oil-based, something like Clarins, but friendly on the pocket @ $20+ a bottle.

yes ladies. i also use Palmers during my 1st trimester. My rashes all over. my breast, nipples, stomach. end up went to see GP for cream to ease the itchiness.

Already stopped using the cream. Now never even apply any stretchmarks cream.

I guess it depends on individual. Maybe i have more sensitive skin.

jess> ekeke. but i cannot imagine making the washing machine work for juz 2 towels. den if wash with other clothes, like make other clothes oily? haha.

rach> keke. ya. my hubby's colleague oso went for one at 100bucks 1hr. zzz. den he ask me go dat one oso. i say so ex -_-"

like u say since u using pigeon sterilizer, den get pigeon bottles lo. n since i buy avent sterilizer, i'll juz stick to avent bottles too. since de starter pack i bought came with like steriliser, food warmer, 6bottles, teats, pacifier, etc etc rubbish =x

de post too behind. i lazy go read backwards. pregnant very lazy =x dun mind de travelling. since getting car sometime this wk. plus can go visit my grandparents when i go for massage. so dun really mind travelling to sengkang =p

mama to 6js> where is de exhibition?? when?? hubby's wedding this wkend. dunno got time to go or not. sat still got to go collect my pregnant gown -_-"

purpleclouds,
puriton is an oral pill to control itch, flu, and can cause you to be slightly drowsy, because night scratchings are the worst. yah, the tummy was angry and red by the time i went in to deliver. i guess it helped that i had eczema my entire life, so itch is nothing new to me. but to control PUPPP, you've just gotta keep thinking that the EDD is approaching, bb is arrive and the rashes will be gone soon. hmm, seems like cocoa butter is a no no for sensitive skin, based on what most of the mummies typed here.

shelled and purpleclouds,
at the end of my first pregnancy, i substituted a snug fitting spag top as a bra (underneath another top) on days when the breast area gets too itchy.

michelle
the exhibition is at expo. i plan to go on weekday esp im stayg so nearby. am gettg another pouch sling n im sure got good offers for pampers.

i never get rashes before. is it worst for those who has underlying ezcema symptoms even before pregnancy? i cant imagine! must be very uncomfortable!

michelle =)
it not very oily.. so i dun mind to put into washing machine for wash... with other clothing as well..

the pigeon brand steriliser is more of universal type.. i guess.. it does't comes with the bottle holder to hold the bottles in place when sterilising, so any other brands of milk bottles can be used! as long as it fits and can be covered properly =)

hey ladies,
my boss jus comment tt i got water retention on my face. den i realize actually my legs, especially my feet too.

How to prevent the swelling??

Got anyone experience any swelling?

Good Afternoon, gals!

Water retention
i no swelling yet .. frds had it during their 3rd trimester

http://www.babycenter.com.sg/pregnancy/antenatalhealth/physicalhealth/swollenhandsandfeet/

Can I do anything to minimise the puffiness?

To control the oedema:

• Elevate your feet when possible. At work, it helps to keep a stool or pile of books under your desk; at home, try to lie on your left side when possible.

• Put on waist-high support tights before you get out of bed in the morning, so blood has no chance to pool around your ankles.

• Drink plenty of water. Surprisingly, keeping hydrated helps your body retain less water.

• Exercise regularly, especially by walking, swimming, or riding an exercise bike.

• Eat well, and avoid sodium and salty foods like olives and salted nuts.

And don't worry. Though the sight of your swollen ankles will probably add to your feelings of ungainliness, oedema is a temporary condition that will pass soon after you give birth

hi Huishan =)
what i know is to eat less salty stuff, drink more fluid, raise ur leg up when sitting down.. eat less of "windy" food like chicken wings

i recently did pre-natal massage.. it helps me to reduce my water-retention prob.

I have tiny pimples (~1mm) on upper belly .. lucky they dun make me itch so i leave them alone

But I have dark vertical line (linea nigra) on tummy and 2 ugly armpits (caused by pigmentation) .. now i see my armpits I wanna faint, they like so dirty
