(2009/09) September 2009 MTBs

Rach..

haha.. im your senior at MBR but maybe a junior here.. haha.. I had a m/c before in Jul at 13 weeks.. took me a very long time to get over it.. bb should have alr been born if not he/she should be due tmr.. just makes me sad whenever i tink of bb..

this makes me so afraid of losing the next.. goin paranoid man.. so from those who knows me here and in the other thread, they know im keeping mum abt everything till aft 1st tri.. haha.. when ur afraid.. anything pantang also will listen de..

oh well, why am i saying all these.. nvm me.. but no matter what.. i will still try to stay +ve.. haha..

ok.. have heard a lot of good comments abt Dr Lawrence Ang at sunplaza.. cheap too.. u can try him...

see if u mind travelling to sengkang? Dr Adrian B Woodworth.. he's quite good de.. looks like mr bean.. haha.. he gives his own mobile no. and will respond promptly to your calls n msgs.. i tink his packages is below 600 bucks which u can start at anytime of the preg. if u dun wish to sign package first.. you have to pay as per visit.. not too sure how much.. but later on, if u decide to sign the package, they can deduct the amt u paid previously per visit from the package..

if im not wrong.. the package includes consultation, scan, and those vitamins like Folic acid n iron tabs... there is also no limit to the no. of visits during the package.

just dun stress yourself out too much esp during 1st trimester.. the most critical part of bb's growth n development.. take care k?

hi gals,

I recently know that i'm pregnant with my second child. Now currently in 6 weeks. My gynae told me bb is still too small at this stage. Asking me to be back for scan 2 weeks later. btw, I came across that www.prettymums.com is having fabulous CNY promotion. Their selections are trendy too. maybe you gals might want to take a look.

Casandra> hihi.. welcome to the thread.
happy.gif

Wah... u gg to see gynae only at 30Jan.. Mmm.. good... by then sure can see heart beat liaoz..
happy.gif

Ling> ooh!! sorry to hear that... Mmmm.. can i ask.. what happened that u lost it?

Oooh.. okok.. then dun talk abt it la..
happy.gif

Regarding Lawrence Ang.. i only know he's real cheap and real busy.. he has sooo many patients.. my fren had him..
she felt he didnt do a good job stitching for her... she was in pain for 2 weeeks.. but her other frens didnt had this prob la...
And she say he work all day one.. very very busy.. and she asked if i want attention or save money..

haha.. i want both.. but cannot ma.. so i rather spent a bit bit more lo... i dun want slipshod work.. hhehe..
happy.gif

Yah.. Heard abt Dr Adrian as well.. recommended him to my cousin.. he's also busy and long Q one.. hehehe..
yeah. his package is $550...
happy.gif

And he sees u for all non pregnancy related illness like flu and cough as well..and his package includes all medication...
but a bit out of the way leh.. hehe...

Dr Koh is $500.

Yup..trying and learning.. but still wondering also... i tihnk good to go next week also la.. haha.. dun think so much.. if need to pay.. better to pay first..
happy.gif

haystack> hihi... congrats!
happy.gif

Ohh.. so u had just visited ur gynae huh...
happy.gif

Hi Rach, recognise me? I'm from MBR too.. Congrats babe! I'm from the aug thread.. =) Actually if u have no spotting, u can see the gynae during 6-7 weeks... U should be able to see the sac, yolk sac and heartbeat.. Cramps are normal so just take good care of yourself.. Dont walk too much and carry too heavy stuff..

rach..

hmm.. bb's heartbeat just stopped and bb stopped growing.. Dr just told us.. "no docs in the world can tell us what happen". both me n DH are really angry with him. if you wish to read more.. u cqan go to this thread.. 3rd last post i tink.

http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/messages/5/1626257.html?1218217930

well.. for Dr Adrian, i got a colleague who sees him at his CCK clinic.. but she didnt wait too long each time leh.. but ok la.. since you both are ok to with Dr Koh.. then go ahead ba.. anyway, like i said, if aft tt u dun feel comfortable with him (but should be unlikely since so many ppl sees him), you can change later on de..

so go on with next week's appt ba!

Jermaine> hihi.. of coz i rem u la.. hahaha.. u so fast...
happy.gif

Congrats too..
happy.gif

Thank GOd..no spotting.. I pray it'll be smooth and healthy..
happy.gif

Ling> Ooh.. okie....

happy.gif

Yah.. will see how is Dr Koh first loh..

happy.gif

So glad to see so many Sept MTB. I just tested positive this morning!!! Yipee!!! I think I am really early in my pregnancy cos my LMP was Dec 14. EDD, based on babycentre website, is Sep 22. For me, if things are normal, probably will see gynea much later e.g. 8 weeks onwards.

babylet, my next appointment is on the 24th which is abt 2 wks time. the gynae nv mention anything, so i dunno what to expect yet, will update u girls accordingly...

Ling, the pic is actually a printout of the ultrasound, which the gynae mark out a length of cell which he said is my bb.

ladies, i am currently visiting a gynae in my neighbourhood, but hubby suggest i start visiting the clinic at TMC, what do u think??

Hi

I just update u all regarding my appt with gynea today.
Did the tummy scan. Although we can't detect the heartbeat yet,
at least can see that the sac has grown from 0.9 cm last week to 2cm today.
I felt so relief.
As I had placed my post in my previous thread, my anxiety and stress with the spotting.
Now I will stay positive mentality.
Will be healthier and good for baby.

From my first visit, I consulted Dr Adrian Woodworth at Sengkang too.
He is really responsive. When I sms him regarding my worries with the spotting problem,
very soon replied me by calling me back. So surprise.
As today, i went back for checkup, as usual he keep asking if I had any spotting, how's my appetite etc....
I was quite impressed by his positive and responsible attitude. keep telling me not to worry.
Therefore, i signed package with him today.
They got offset from my previous visit too.
The nurse at the clinic also very cute.
She advised me not to read too much negative post.
Coz will scare lot of preggies, esp for 1st trimester.
She remind me must have more positive thinking, good for bb.
So I can recommend Dr Adrian Woodworth. Can consider him.

lilac> congrats!!
happy.gif

LawShe> i dun think its necessary to specifically visit a doc at TMC.. but as long as the doc delivers at TMC.. its good enough. but of coz.. u can look for a reliable doc that delivers there...

there's many ard to look for in the forum..
where do u stay?
happy.gif

Jiahui> wah..thats very nice to hear... been hearing good stuffs abt Dr Adrian too.. Mmmm.. i wonder..... if i really wanna consider him.. i stay Yishun.. to go there.. i got straight bus 965 25min.. but need to change feeder bus..

how much is ur package?? $550?

haha.. Mmmm... shall go see Dr Koh and see how.. if really not comfortable then maybe will change loh.. cant possibly be going from one to antoher all the time.. this isnt like shopping for BS.. haha..
happy.gif

Congrats for u.
happy.gif

How many weeks are u now??

rach, i am staying in hougang.. the gynae that i am visiting deliveries at TMC. during my 1st visit, the gynae was very fast, did only ultrasound n give me some folic acid. was expecting him to ask me to go for urine test or even take my weight, but nothing was done, hence Hubby find him not so "pro" but given the proximity to home and the charges, i am still ok. shall review if i need to change to another gynae at my next visit..

Gsheng, congrats on ur pregnancy.. i have considered going to Dr Woodworth initially but feedback say the waiting time is horrible so i change my mind...

LawShe honestly.. if u are staying at Hougang.. i would encourage Dr ADrian if u are really changing.. i think waiting time is something that good doctors are facing.. cuz they are popular.. but i heard some people dun have to wait that long also... i guess its based on what time ur appt is..
happy.gif

My Koh C H from TPY also gotta wait very long de..
my fren ever waited 3 hours.. but average is 45-90min... which is considered normal.. hahaha..
happy.gif

Mmm.. i will see my 1st visit with Dr Koh then decide la...
happy.gif

Hi rach. Thanks
I'm in 6 weeks now.
Yup my package $550.
Offset today and last two visit, I only pay the balance about $200

Hi Lawshe.
Indeed many ppl see him.
If more preggies choose to consult him, means he is really good.
That why each time i visit him, very kiasu.
Standby at the counter b4 the register time start.
So that i can be the 1st few to go.
Anyway, his consultation for each couple won't be draggy.
he is the type of come straight to the point.

Gsheng, care to share ur package with Dr Woodworth??

i am more on the conservative side, so hope to get more details and advise from the gynae, dont need him to drag too long but give me facts..

Hi Lawshe,
Which doc are you seeing at Hougang?
Im seeing a gynae at hougang too and he just did the scan for me without urine test or weight taking.

This thread is really moving now ya... I'm abit lost nv 1.5 days. To think I was still worried no one will come in e thread after I started it *hee*

I'm not very sure who said this sentence bout whether you want cheap or gd service cuz I just scan thru e postings nia.

IMO, I feel that such money really cannot save one lor. My 1st gyane was so called good and cheap lah, S$550 package start from day 1 of visit... But his service leaves much to desire & worse his negligence might be the reason for my miscarriage. To tink I was all praise of him through my 1st pregnancy.. only realise later that there were some stuff which he didn't do for me which cld hv caused danger to my bb. Prasise the Lord for blessing my #1. Guess this gynae is only suitable for those with problem free pregnancy.

My 2nd gynae, Dr. Wong is slightly more expensive but I'm very very pleased with her service. I am definitely going back to her for my #3.

Pehaps the experience mum to be,
can share and highlight the points to us,
regarding what are the things, the gynea need to lookout for.
So that can prevent negligence to happen.
Think it will be useful to the first time mum to be like myself.
We need some guidelines

Jiahui, thanks for sharing your package with us.

Ling, i am really looking forward to my new gynae visit.. i cant wait to find out more...

Dolcevita, i am seeing Dr Phua at Kovan, you seeing him too..

Jiahui> wah... so his package of $550 starts from anytime ah?? thats very cheap...
Has anyone found out whats the delivery charges???
Is he a Chinese or ang moh huh??

Ling> ooh.. really?? u've decided to go with Dr Adrian??? why leh??
happy.gif

Now i'm really considering.. hahaa.... MMmmmm...

Jenifur> who's ur 1st gynae?? dun mind can PM me if not convenient to say here??
happy.gif

Rach..

yep.. be goin down this fri i guess..

well, maybe cos of my bad exp with my previous gynae.. so now more careful with the docs i choose.. have heard alot abt Dr Adrain.. not only in Forums but also from frens n colleagues.. I also like the part where he gives his mobile# de.. so if anything.. u can juz call/ sms him.. he will sure reply de.. (im not too sure how many will give their mobile no)

unlike my previous gynae.. when i had spotting..the only no i cud call was the hospital's emergency hotline where the Dr on duty tt day will respond.. but u tink lo.. this dr duno your condition, duno anything abt u.. will u feel safe?

I also heard there was this case.. this lady really felt unwell.. tink got spotting or what la.. tho' it was past his working hours.. he told her to meet him at the clinic.. he opened the clinic all by himself for her lo.. i mean.. how many docs will do tt for u? how many docs will go the extra mile to see you in the middle of the night like this? Tho' he's the chop chop kinda doc.. but he will cover everything u ask de..

But really la.. this is wat ive read n known abt him so far.. its all up to you to discern lo.. u can give your gynae a try.. who knows? maybe he's as good? since u say got long queue also..

my previous gynae also got long waiting time de.. but i reckon its cos he only has 1 nurse. actually i pity her.. got to handle to counter.. help him inside.. come out prepare vits.. collect payment.. arrange appts.. kaoz.. cant he employ another nurse?

u discuss with ray ba... dun rush to confirm ur gynae..

the worse mistake we made was to stay on with that gynae.. was initially contemplating to change gynae.. but we didnt.. then it happened.. haiz.......

Hi

I'm also with Dr Adrian Woodworth. He's my gynae for my first pregnancy.

This second pregnancy is so different from my first one. I did not suffer from any MS for my 1st pregnancy. But now, my 2nd one, i feel so bad. everyday like torture to me... kept feeling wanting to puke....
sad.gif

hi Ling

For me, my hubby and I like him. In general, those who knows him, he is a very cool and calm guy. During my 1st pregnancy, I had spotting during my late 2nd - early 3rd trimester. But he always looks very calm and reassuring whenever i went and see him. He gave us the feeling of confidence.

Morning Ladies!!!

Jiahui,

My 1st Gynae is Dr. Ang...

Hello everyone!~

Ling,

yesh... i heard from my sis fren that dr adrian open the clinic in the middle of the nite just to see her cos she met with a minor accident and worry if it affect her baby.

Actually he is not bad.. and cheap too. My first pregnancy i see him too. But it ended with a miscarriage. Maybe its just fated that it happen. But sometimes i find him too rush, maybe he talks very fast haha. So for my 2nd prenancy, i change another gyne at ten mile junction. His fees is ex though... but he is very detailed and plus, i had high blood pressure even b4 being pregnant. And this gyne is more for high risk pregnancy and thats y i change to him. And for the first appt, i had blood test etc. And lucky found out that my hormone level is too low to support the pregnancy. And i had injection weekly till my bb is 12 weeks. And i gave birth to a lovely girl in nov 07. hehe

hi, can any MTBs advise me? i currently hv a veri bad discharge sinc yest but i had onli fixed appt wif the doc tis coming sat...

i suspect i got yeast infection..do u tink will affect the baby? should i c a doc asap now?

jeslyn,

is the discharge smell?

Best is to call up the clinic and tell the nurse to see if you should push ur appt early to check. Think best is to go and check...

crystal, i had called up the clinic an let the nurse knw alr..she told me it's veri common for pregnant ladies to hv to discharge cos of hormonal changes. she told me can wait till sat since my appt is tis comin sat..

meanwhile juz keep the area clean..

Hi All,
I'm new to this. I'm currently in my 6 weeks and have been feeling nausea and tired everyday. I have a problem and would like to share and seek other mummies advise. I'm working in a sales job and this is my first pregnancy. recently, haven't been able to cope well with my sales figues and can see that there any new demands from boss in 2009. With these preg. symptoms I'm having now, I really feel demotivated and deflated to go work everyday.
Another reason is that I've graduated and only started working about 2 years ago, you can say I'm still in my exploration stage trying to find my career path.

I'm trying out this sales in recruitment industry because I kinda like HR but do not have the related qualifications to be in corporate hr. and so, bo bian, have to try this out as a start.

I'm so lost. I feel like giving up as my husband can support me (financially) but focus on my preg. first, but on the other hand, I feel lousy not able to establish a good career path and get the 4 months maternity leave...

Should I quit now or endure?

Morning Ladies

DH is on 5 days resvc
sad.gif
. Thk God this week move in with my MIL while DH is away. I doubt i can handle DD at this stage i'm in now.

Tend to be more tired but can't really sleep. Last nite, got a scared spotted abit together with discharge. Today, no more liao. Praying & learning not to be so stress out. Work is quite hactic this few weeks lor.

I wish i don't need to work haha

Ling> yeah..thats very nice of Dr Adrian to do that..
happy.gif

Good for u..
happy.gif
have recommended him to my cousin liaoz.. hahaha..
happy.gif

She's TTC..
happy.gif

jenifur> ooh.. Lawrence Ang huh?? yah.. i read abt him..and have my reservations abt him as well....
my fren's with him previously..she felt he did a slip shod job while stitching.and she was in pain for 2 weeks loh....
Mmm.. and i heard he's reallllll busy de... so.. i didnt want to go with someone who's just cheap.. but i feel need to be good and reliable as well..
happy.gif

enxuan> do u like what u are doing?? thats more impt.. if u enjoy wat u are doing.then u can still do it..
but if it gets so stressed up tat u'll be emotionally & physically affected.then i suggest u might have to leave loh....
U gotta weigh the pros and cons..
happy.gif

zhen> what is DH huh?? haha... :p
ooh.. he went reservist ah?? Ooh... HB gg in May.. hopefully by then i'm more stable le..
happy.gif

enxuan, i think dun be too stressed. There are a lot of women who stay home even when pregnant, so there is really nothing to feel bad about. If you are financially stable and can afford it, why not. But of course, depends on whether you are happy working at the same time, then u got to weigh which option works out best for you. If you ask me, there is no perfect win win situation, but you got to know which one is more of a priority to you. Don't get too stressed out of it. After all, you are only working for 2 years and like u say, still in the exploration stage. once you give birth, u can still get back ur career. It's not that difficult.

actually i have been thinking abt taking no pay leave for a while after giving birth.. but financially, dunno if can afford?
