heng my mum is doing my confinement so she knows wat i eat and wat i dont like. hehe.. anyway i asked her if can eat mooncake already, she says eat abit nvm... hehe.. added u on msn...

i'm very bored now cos waiting for hubby to come home.. but he called to say he will be late cos he wanna go comex first.. thinking of asking to go serangoon food centre for dinner later so can get coconut to drink...

I'm also above average size leh. My hubs also not small size. Dunno why only #1 inherited the big build. #2 so far still looks so tall and slender, machiam girl! I hope he bulks up real soon...

No need to envy me leh. #2 only started sleeping at night 2 days ago. I'm still treading on thin ice now, hoping not to screw up his schedule so he can continue to sleep at night.

It's true that BM will only come in a few days later, but meanwhile you will have colostrum to feed bb with. In fact, you would have colostrum in your breasts now already. So there's no need for FM unless you are not confident that you will be able to BF bb.

So far K only wakes up for feed lah. Then I'll change him before or halfway during feed. So when he falls asleep after feed, I don't have to kacheow him when I change his diaper.

think you have to check with your company. As for me, I was considered to have clocked in for work that time I had my boy. So, ML starts the following day for me. Think your company shouldn't count that day as ML since you have already gone for work.

btw, i also ordered raffles hotel mooncakes. got 20% discount when i ordered online with my citibank card. Like their mooncakes, be they baked or snowskin.

lucky you. My boy reaching 2 years old and he's wearing clothes meant for 3-yr-olds. Tall for his age. My 2 gals, 4 and 3 yrs old respectively, are wearing clothes meant for 6-7 yrs old. Sigh. Bottomline is I can't buy too many for them, especially the branded stuff. Heartache when I think of the money wasted.

am back from tmc. Have inserted the 2nd tablet.. Just did the CTG scan too. Having contractions at regular interval of 5 mins... but the contractions are mild.. like prob... 70.. dr. mentioned that strong contractions are measured around 150. So.. haha... feeling slight backache and cramps from lower abdominal and feel pressure on cervix whenever there is a contraction. I guess that's how it feels. But till now, all I could say it's still tolerable cause I can still play DS LITE!! lolz...
At 3.30pm, dr. checked my cervix dilated only 1cm... so she estimate that my bb would prob come out tomorrow morning between 9am - 12pm . Dr also tried to stretch my cervix earlier. OK, that stretching of cervix is painful.

mampoko, I didn't know my pm is off. Shall switched it on. Will pm you my contact no. instead. Hopefully, can meet tomorrow...

for me is, i decided to induce. As she gave me the option to wait for another 2-3 days too. Currently, she checked my bb is est. around 3.5 to 3.6kg.. amiotic fluid and placenta still good. Cervix soften and bb is low enough. She mentioned that I could choose to wait another few days to see if bb decide to come out or not.. but she suggest not to wait too long cause scared that bb will get too big and I will have a difficult natural birth and may end up needing to c-sec.. So, I say I'm mentally prepared already and want to induce today as she say that it seems that my body and bb are both ready.

i also feel so sian when i think of all the barang to bring if i bottle feed ebm. guess i'm just haunted by his dun wanna drink by latching then the mad scramble to warm up ebm to bottle feed him thing

hey i understand. me same situation. in fact if u read back my posts, i really did have depression for a while b/c of bf-ing. but i've come tp terms liao. at least god lets me have some bm to feed bb. better than nothing lor

these few ddays i pump once a day cos i have massage lady coming in do post natal massage for me. i scared wait i no pump and baby wants to feed i still in the midst of massage how? so just pump so my mom can feed him if need to.

oh the raffles hotel moonccakes r my fav!! i so so love them. till now i hv not eaten a single mooncake

what i do now is to alternate breasts. every 2 hourly i will let baby empty one breast then next feed will alternate empty the other breast. just like what michelle say, so baby can get most of the hindmilk which is calorie rich and make baby put on more weight. but these few days dunno growth spurt or what, one breast cant satisfy him he must feed on 1.5 breasts or sometimes both breasts.

wah u all so fast lose so much weight? my weight still so stubborn i only lost 2kg so far!! still got 8kg to go!! but my tummy has very much flattened thanks to massage but why stubborn weight refuse to drop ah??

Woaaah. I thought my boy was big, yours is even bigger! Mine was always wearing 1 size larger, but since he turned 2, he's just been wearing clothes for his age. Which is good in a way, cos relatives like to buy clothes that are appropriate for his age, but he could never ever wear them! So I always had to give/sell away or *ahem* throw away. (Cos some of them are really really ugly ok? I don't even dare to give ppl.)

Dun give up breastfeeding. I know it's hard to wake up in the middle of the nite to latch on or express. I'm gg through this now. As my confinement lady is giving Clarice EBM during the nite feeds, I have to set alarm clock to wake up to express. It's tiring but I'll try to take a rest whenever I can.

Am thinking what should I do after she leaves, to latch on baby or to feed her EBM 1st then express.

Wei! U never put on much weight leh! What you want to lose huh??

I was 88kg on the day i admit hosp lor! Total gain: 15-16kg. (Because my weight was always yoyo-ing between 72-73kg pre-Keegan.) Now I'm 75kg. Left 2-3kg til pre-preg weight.
But I don't care so much about the weight, I just want my tummy to look NOT PREGNANT. In case stupid ppl ask me if I'm pregnant again. I will humtum them!

thanks! sam really is naughty n impatient (or he sleeps) when he latches. gets on my nerves! if really need to bottle feed ebm exclusively, at least i'm giving him the nutrients (self-consoling)

It's ok lah, whatever size our kids are, so long as they are healthy. My gals are more active than my boy but bigger in size compared to him. Trying to stop them from sumo-wrestling with him recently. He ends up getting squashed.
Maybe that's why he prefers to sleep during the day and wakes up at night to play with my hubby...

K's spurt seems to be over liao. But then again... I kinda pumped and store BM until I up my own supply. So now I got more milk than last time lor. So I guess he no longer needs to latch longer even if he's still having growth spurt?

I henceforth swear I will not happily happily go pump again!

iM 39WK and 2 D. Waiting also.. Due in Sept 16th, But doc say wun wait till then cos i got Gestational diabetes.. Mon morning ill be admitted to induce if labour dun start by then, did CTG today, Having regular contractions already however doc say might go into labour tonight, But dunno hw leh so far i got no symtoms yet.
My doc ask me walk alot. hmm wondering wld it help. am feeling soo heavy rdy. difficult to walk. i gained 20 kg thru out this pregnancy. N i know that is more then suggested weight gain. ANyone gained as much as me? Wondering how to shed it off after delivery. I am very concern i used to be 51 kg. Quite small sized...

Any websites to recommend to buy nursing bra online? So far i only bought one. Now i feel too heavy to go out and shop for nursing bra aldy. im intending to BF for atleast 3-5mths. Hope pple ard me are motivating enuf and they dun ask me to mix FM..

M having contrations however doc still send me home and ask me wait till it gets more frequent. Im keep feeling like a need to go toilet n having loose stools is that normal?

looks like we hvg same prob! my twin boys have been wearing 2 sizes larger since young. when they 3 mths already can fit into 12 mths pants. now at 8 yrs old, the younger twin need to wear size 11 and my older twin? gosh he needs to wear size 16!! and funniest thing is? he and my hubby shares underwear! cos he cant fit into any kids sizes. at 8 yrs old he is wearing calvin klein and levis size L. scary right!!

now im bearing the consequence of their sizes. really difficult to find clothes for them. no doubt they look so cute and chubby when babies and during toddlerhood but now at 8 yrs old, no longer cute lor to be so big size

I know it's tough. That's why I'm trying to control their diet. Not letting them take too much carbo and sweet stuff. Kept telling my maid not to overfeed them with rice or noodles. But, dunno why they are still growing so well. Can only pray that they slim down when they get into primary school in future.

Yup. Chubby babies and toddlers look cute but not school-going kids. Teachers will also try to make them exercise more. My hubby more kanchiong... he has started taking them to swimming pool to teach them swimming and making them run around with him at playgrounds on days he's free.

how come u dun lose weight? tot de moment bb is out, de weight drops very fast? de day i come hm from hospital, i immediately lost weight liaos. n de weigh diff is so big i got a shock. haha. 3kg more to pre-pregnancy days. 10kg more to before marriage weight. gonna take this opportunity to lose weight.

your boy sounds like having heat rash more than eczema. Eczema is when you see little rash-like dots appearing on the joints, like knees and elbows, feet and hands or fingers.

yup. early bird discount for citibank cardholders if order online for the mooncakes. Will get hubby to collect after 21 Sep cos the charge for delivery is quite high. Think it's $40. Think if I top up a bit, can get another box of mooncakes.

I gained total of 20kg when during my #1 pregnancy. Pre-preg was 68kg. Admit hosp 88kg. Until my boy 2 yrs old, I was still 72-73kg. Never lost it all. But then again... I didn't actually try. I didn't watch my diet, didn't exercise, so I guess it's only natural to have "leftover" from pregnancy lah.

That's true. at least sam don't need to take FM! 1 week gain 300g not hard to believe what. K discharge from hosp on Tues @ 3.5kg, on Friday during PD checkup he was already 3.8kg. I'm quite sure he's past 4kg already, but the weighing scale at home not conducive for weighing newborn. I shall know his weight when we bring him for his jab on 19th!

I will try to give two breasts if possible. Sometimes after one breast she fall alsleep , i will change diaper then feed the other breast lor. I still got no idea how to tell. Mostly i will let her detach from the breast before giving her the other but one breast she latches very long till i veri tired. Then i will give her the other .

Your 2hrs interval is you fixed the timing to wake him up or he ask for it ? Many thanks

When I try to separate them, my gals will try to pounce on me.. Like mama to 6Js, my 2 gals r big-sized and strong like her boys. Sigh.. they were also wearing 12-mths clothes when they were about 3 or 4 mths old. The nightmare started when they hit a year old.. I could barely carry them. Thankfully, my boy's a bit slimmer.
 
just took a nap and woke up from it. Had like a blood clot thing came out. May I check, is that the mucous plug? Funny, cause earlier was having contractions, now, seems to have less contraction leh.. Is it supposed to be like that?
Damn confused. But contemplating whether shoud I bring laptop to TMC later tonight or is there computer to use in the labour ward?

actually my boys are quite active. they swim intensively (swim lesson) once or twice a week plus play rugby in school 3 times a week. but still the same! my younger twin is above average built but its the older one thats beyond control. and ever since he started primary school its worst cos i cant control what he eats in school though i know he doesnt snack but he is a carbo person. 30 mins recess he can have 2 servings of noodles/rice! faintz! i dun have heart to deduct his pocket money to make him eat less cos what if he really hungry he cant concentrate in class??? now i just hoping he will stop putting on weight and grow taller so his chub chubs will stretch upwards too. good thing he is in boys school so he is actually not the fattest though he is one of the tallest.

i put on 14kg ok! baby J was born 3.87kg but my overall weight loss only 6kg???!!! means placenta, waterbag etccc only 2kg?? now lost another 2 kg so another 6kg to go! doesnt help tat my mom kept feedin me non stop. she said i breastfeed so must eat more! wah biang!

everyday must wear the binder for 6-7hrs plus eatg those ginger/wine confinement foods plus ridiculously hot weather is killing me! im perspiring like nobody business everyday. cant even eat a meal wo gettg my t shirt all wet. kudos to those who can tahan not showering n no air con for confinement. i just cant waitfor it to be over! most of the time i just hole up in my room on the air con full blast but so guilty dunno how much electricity bill i gonna accumulate this mth.

eh i should be the one asking u! what did u feed K with? within 3 days he gain 300g?? wah super leh!!i took one week to make baby J put on 400g hor.

u just make sure she really empty the other breast lor. if u squeeze ur nipple, u should be able to see droplets thick white milk thats hindmilk. if u see clear, diluted milk means she not emptying ur breast enough. what i will do is after i change baby, i will get him to suck on the same breast again. a rough gauge for me is abt 15 mins of active suckling. if she suck and fall asleep then suck again then not counted lor.

in the hosp, he will cry 2 hourly for feed but when we r home, he sleeps most of the time so i still wake him 2 hourly. a good frd of mine who is a seasoned breastfeeder once told me during the initial breastfeeding days its good to feed 2 hourly to build up supply esp if u dun intend to pump at all.

at nite usually i dun wake him, but still he will wake me every 2.5 to 3 hr for feed.
 
Sigh.. Sam just merlion-ed quite a lot of semi-digested milk. Wonder if I overfed him or maybe b/c he din really burp?

btw, i have a frd who pumps exclusively for her 2 kids for 10 mths respectively. v healthy kids she has. she said she cant stand the feeling of bb sucking her nipples and just cant latch correctly. now both r toddlers already. so it can be done whichever way u comfortable with. jia you!

Yup, my breasts &amp; nipples are so abused I wonder if they'll ever be the same again. Dun wanna think abt how they'll look after BF-ing days are over!

I wanna latch for purely selfish reasons. Less pumping &amp; washing up, no need to bring so much barang out, no need to be on tenterhooks &amp; stand by &amp; heat up ebm.. But really lor, if Sam doesn't wanna nurse, what can I do?

Wonder if I shd go to Parentcraft again for "latch re-training"? Sigh.. That will be the 3rd time I show my face there liao!

oh like that im v selfish too lah! i also hate to pump, i hate to bring so much stuffs out, though im not the one doing the washing. aiyah dun worry abt it lah gal. as i said, do what u feel comfortable with. if u really desire to relatch, then im sure ur determination will pay off. not easy but one step at a time lor

Have given birth to my son on 09-09.. now back home and trying to BF...

latching is fine (though need to struggle a while first!) but seemed to suckle only 10 - 15 min then baby will sleep.... then I wait for next time baby wake up to continue on next breast? then it's like every hour even at night.. gosh... is this the correct way?

And I can't be sure if baby is fed so dun know if should supplement with formula.. I did that last night, and he slept for 3 hours through... unlike on my no-milk breast.. sigh... Hope some of you experienced BF mummies can help!

BF is tough!!

Hi! For my first baby, I exclusively pump too! All the way for about 9 months.. cos baby refused to latch on.. scream etc... but still, it's breast milk, only more work in washing, sterilising etc.. it's a nightmare, I remember! Was doing it every 3 hours (even at night) for the first 2 months to up supply!

So really hoping this time round my #2 can do direct feed... but he's like suckling every hour even at night... geez... will this get better? sigh... maybe I should go back to exclusively pumping and feed him formula in the meantime.. troubled..

For no #2, no need pump coz latch too mcuh till nipple sore, cracked, bleed in PAIN... still got to let her latch... haizzzz... i wonder how long this will last... yet too lazy to wake up and pump...

my BM not here.. latch but bb still hungry.. not even engorge... MIl insisted on me pumping or just give up and give FM... (T_T)
MIL came to stay and "tidy" my hse and decides to look into evry nook and cabinet to throw things away.. tell us dun carry or sway bb too much.. she carry him all times and refuse to let him sleep in cot when it time...
doing Breastfeeding.. dun even have peace and quiet n privacy... came into the rm and dun even bother to go out when im "indecent"

You must ask your mom to stop feeding you lah. Otherwise your 6-7hrs binding all wasted!! Or maybe get your massage lady to come in the evening? I can happily keep the binder on from 7pm to 2-3am cos night time not so warm mah. hee hee. I wanted to try sleeping with it on, but then not easy to get out of bed with it on. If K cry for milk, my reaction sure damn slow!

My dear, how many days since u pop only wor. BM takes 3-5 days to come in leh. Just try to turn a deaf ear when she invade your BF privacy lah. Otherwise can only try to get your hubs to tell her to back off. It's really not advisable to carry bb all the time esp when he's not fussy! Later really become habit.

today tried breastfeeding, but not sure if theres any milk or colostrum. i've got a really sleepy gal...gave me 3-4 sucks then fall bk asleep. i tickle her ears n toes also still zzzzzz soundly!

mine not much stories to tell...very "boring" one, coz it was a c-sect, so everything went quite fast.

basically...

630am arrived at tmc, do registration.
715am was in a 2 bedder ward coz all single bedder full. hb request to switch to single bedder once got space.
8am nurse came did some questionaire n also stuck some liquid thing up my *ss to make me pass motion.
830am wheeled to OP.
9am ny gynae came... then it all happen bery fast. next thing i know i'm awake n pushed bk to ward.
2pm then i got to see my gal.
3pm transferred to single ward.

my bb room in with me whole day, but at nites i put her in nursery. yep, juz need to give nurse instructions when to bring her back. so far, my bb has not cried for milk. she juz sleeps very soundly only.

just fed baby, dunno he oversucked not. heard him swallowing loud gulps of milk so scared he choke n throw up heng nver now go back sleep already.

ur mil reminds me of mine when i did my first confinement. thanks to her i suffered from post natal blues everyday cry n cry. she didnt allow me to carry baby yet she carried the twins all the time! when come to bf she kept coming in to see if i was done, no privacy! exactly same like urs hor. worst, i braved thru the sore nipples to pump milk for her to feed at nite (since she said confinement ladies cannot get up at nite, need to rest) then she refused to give them. instead make fm for the twins, claiming it took too long to warm up. (she was the one who insisted i needed to get fm for them too just in case)in the end all the ebm gotta throw next day cos expire. such was my life until i couldnt take it anymore i broke down in front of hub and hub sent her all the way home! and i was back to my old happy self.

u just gave birth right? sometimes for some mothers the milk wont come in till later. dun depend on the feeling of engorged to know that u have milk. must have confidence in ur own boobs ok. if it gets really bad do talk to ur hub ok?

i'm doing quite gd. not much pain fr the c-sect. juz really thirsty n a bit hungry. nurses say today on drip cannot eat or drink.

not sure leh...i didnt ask why must take blood pressure. seems like every 3 hrs once. then nurse also check on the lochia bleeding n helps me with the changes.

which day did your milk come in? my breast feels less full after giving birth leh... normal?

i,m not too sure abt that. but i think if your neighbour dun complain shd be can. but at nites cannot rm in overnite.
