hi gd mrng ladies.... i din sleep well last nite aft watching 'resident evil'... grrrrrrrrr~ stiff neck agn! i kept imagining im 'alice'!!!! kaoz! in fact, i din watch the previous 'resident evil' movie... but rmbrd long long time ago, played the strategy game with my ex-bf. so tired leh... i run n run... n shoot n shoot.....

The JG trial is called off as they dun do group trials. Have to call them up individually to arrange cos they only take in 2 trial students per class.

I think it's do-able, just confine her to an area so that it's easier to clean. I used to do that for my coalie, when i give her a big raw bone to chew. But i think can't do that to ovann now cos coalie will sure come & help him finish the food .. lol!

ya i also gave kyler yogurt frequently becos i read tt they need 4 cup of milk now n yogurt consider 1 cup.. but the yoplait yogurt so small cup dunno enough anot.. headache ah..

kyler ok with porridge i also add milk in his cereal but sumtime he dun 1 also.. also try to put the milk in mag mag cos he love to walk ard drinkin from magmag but he only drink abit.. sigh~

i saw it at the organic shop cost $40+ i tink.. ya i work n stay in the west maybe u can join those spree? now tt he drink so little mus supp him with DHA..
 
oh.. then better stop gvg for awhile le. (actually me myself not so keen to gv bb so much of yogurt....dat's y i did not start them till they were 1yo... but since my fren's PD recommend...)

i tink u mentioned u do gv ikan bilis in his porridge rite? oh, den agn.. i rmbrd too last time my PD mentioned it's ok if the bb is not taking as much milk.. cos his main source of nutrients now shld cm frm solids... "we shld b worrying if a 1-2yo todd is oni drinking milk n refusing solids." dat's wat he said..which i tink make sense.. (cos i was once worrying alot that Keona is not taking much milk when she was ard 7-10mths old!

or prolly serve 'colder' milk? pour into cereal (as like cheerios or cocopops or honeystars those sort of cereal..)?
 
babies dun wanna drink milk
some toddlers wean off milk earlier than others.. besides FM, u can try fresh milk now.. otherwise i guess it's other forms to substitue the calcium intake.. eg. ikan bilis... bones stock soup.. cheese.. yoghurt.. tofu... etc..

my #1 oso stopped drinking milk (FM or Fresh) after 1.5yrs old.. and yah i was paranoid over it..who will not be right? i mean, we were taught that milk and calium is necessary for healthy bones growth especially for growing children... but PD keep telling me can subsitue...with examples of those above.. sianz.. talk abt it still sianz... nowadays every few days i give him calcium gummy bear sweets lor..

i am just hoping #2 will continue drinking milk..but now seems like #2 oso wanna wean off evening 9 - 11pm milk feed.. dun wanna drink milk.. can onli feed her when she is asleep :p

ya i agre. But Kyler is really drink way too little milk he need calcium to grow mah so I can only try to sub with hi cal food as much as possible n I also read tt drink too much milk is no gd also..

everyone tells me.. after 1 yrs old can drink fresh milk oredi.. ohhh but thinking back hor, i save alot of money over these yrs with him not touching milk at all. yes youghurt is my constant subsitute then.. haizzzzzzzzzz.. sianz.. everytime ppl gives me the shock look when i tell them my boy dun take milk AT ALL

I speed read someone talking about Nordic Natural Fish Oil. May I know which type? Seems like the age is for 3 yr and up except Baby's DHA for up to 15kg.

What to get from US for 1 yr old?
I only thought of Hi5. Any ideas what to bring in from US for 1 yr old?

actually if u dun mind it on 3 wheels when baby not on it, I can lend my red stroller to u. It was already on 3 wheels when we went hk but it was still ok. When my boy sat on it, it balanced out.

Butter, Cheese, Yogurt & Toothpaste

Just saw this when I opened to the top of this pg..

I consulted my dentist a couple of weeks back when I went for my cleaning. She said it's better not to give toothpaste to babies UNTIL they know how to spit out & not swallow. She said NEVER use toothpaste with fluoride till they can spit. And it's not necessary to use toothpaste without flouride. Just sharing some info lah.. She lectures at the uni & is very experienced & she is very very good, so I believe her haha.

As for butter.. I gave Sam butter since 10mths old. He loves it coz it's smooth & tasty & 'spices' up his bread. I normally give him either bread with cheese or butter.. unless MIL goes on her 'cannot digest / too heaty' rampage again

I haven't given Sam yoghurt. I can't imagine MIL's reaction *sigh* Sian sian sian.. I think I shall buy some this weekend & give him a taste, while she's not ard *evil luff*
 
Milk requirements

Erm.. I read long ago that 1 yr old babies need abt 350ml milk/day. But this includes milk used in cooking or substitutes like yoghurt, cheese, tofu etc etc.

My PD also said that it doesn't matter that much if they dun wanna drink a lot of milk. Just use solid food to sub lor.

we r using those bb toothpaste so it safe for swallow etc.. in market there r a couple of brand..

Yeah the dentist also said there are those non-fluoride toothpaste but BBs. And she said no need lah. Main thing is use cloth/brush & water can liao. Anyway I'm lazy (&cheapo) to buy heehee
 
hehe.. actually really alot of things r down to different sch of tots..n individual beliefs n preference de.

like the other day.. my mum told me that my sis said frm her lecturer in NUS, it's not advisable to give yogurt to young baby & children.. not even some fruits like kiwi..etc. i then argued that PD recommend de mah....so y not? duno lar! the lecturer studied that yogurt, served cold..n being sour n duno-wat..(prolly it's cultured or duno wat's it lar..), will upset bbs' appetite and wat-not?!?

but isn't tat an alternative source of calcium for bbs who aint drinking enuff milk?

anyways.. ya.. like we always say... anything given moderately is fine. even for us adults, anything taken moderately shld not cause adverse effect. haiya.. everything now oso cause cancer or watever de... wat else can we eat or drink?!?

upset appetite? Kyler ok wor jus dun like milk nia.. i also gave Kyler golden kiwi frequently.. i taste both r sweet not sour mah...

Yeah I agree lah. It's very sian when my MIL says cannot give Sam butter or cheese or egg or veg or cereal or biscuit ... coz he's heaty now. Wah liew.. then what he eat? Plain porridge?

Then she cooks barley water for him but insists need to use pure barley water to make FM. I told her all barley water makes the FM hard to dissolve plus Sam soesn't wanna drink coz it tastes weird! So I add half water n make. She also not happy.

Then I say if she's worried he's not drinking enough, make barler again 2moro.. but she says it'll be too 'liang'.

to me.. using toothpaste for the little ones.... im ok with it. hv been using since they were abt 7mths old le. like many others here, we're using jason natural de earth's best toothpaste for babies 6mths onwards, safe to swallow. to me..ok lor.. safe jiu safe...jiu use.

if, in some way, applying toothpaste on toothbrush (just like wat we r doing) make them feel adult n wana brush too.. den y not.. haha.

*wah.. dat time hor i ran out of the toothpaste n bought 1 tube at some expo exhibition.. kaoz.. $11 a tube.. killer manz! anyways....

but i still prefer to gv earth's best for at least awhile longer then move to those kodomo bb toothpaste.. which im sure will be a savings. haha. but nw still let them 'eat' the natural de first.

actually for my girls.. brush teeth or not oso same de la... cos aft they brush.. they still drink milk.. n night feed some more leh?!? bleahx~
but helper bathe for them in the day... so just ask her to brush for them lor..... but if i bathe them during wk'n..i lazy to do it le.. bahaha~

what if u just go ahead with what u believe and go against her beliefs?

Nowadays I'm being more 'rebellious'. I do start to do my own stuff now. But what she does when I go back to work will of course be hard to control. But I need to let go or I'll drive myself cuckoo

no prob. Actually the wheels are ok, just that the metal is abit warped and that's why the imbalance. We still can't bear to part with it coz it's so light and good to use when travelling. Haha.

Ya, 4 days only cos we'd only be in tokyo. Actually this trip is for my sis' mil cos she kept saying she wanted to go jap. Then my sis resigning from sq so thot of bringing her, along with my mum for a short trip b4 she starts her new job. I asked to tag along cos i oso wanted to go to jap for a long long time liao! Since my mum is going, i'd hv more confidence bringing ovann along

ya really wasted, else I can pass to you just threw away on last fri leh, it was 5yo (my #1 using it) but still usable just that we bought my #2 Perego Pliko 3 :p thot nobody will want old stroller...last time i asked anybody want old bb cot also no taker haha

just received the voucher yesterday via mail together with my new POSB everyday credit card was still thinkin no need coz we going group trial luckily i did not throw away
