piggy,

Oh, ic ... Ya, i was also thinking of combining some of the videos into the montage but not sure how to do editing, so i guess i'll just put in the photos.

So your photo book gonna be done and let guests browse during the celebration? Or is it just for your own keepsake

Hi Pris,
PM you. Thanks.

My baby can recognize some animal flash cards now. Jia You mommies, our hard work has paid off!

April, Babiesmeme:

I actually sort of check around to understand more about about being a childcare teacher also... but the pay is terrible so i dun think im interested anymore... haha

Waahhh....been such a long time since I dropped in!

Am feeling so sick and tired of work too! Everyday I dragged myself to work, basically the min i reach the office, I started counting down to the time I go home!

hi can i koe wat other ingredients can we put into baby porridge? my MIL is so stingy... she only puts in Carrot + Scallop (i buy) + egg yolk(i buy) for the porridge.

Nowadays my girl tend to avoid the porridge by playing with it. When my helper feed her, she will use her hand to dig it out n start pressing it.... i feel that its b cos the food is tasteless.... i told my hubby but he is on his mum's side. So frustrated. I bought fish n vege to let my MIL cook but she only put 1 vege n add in abit of BOVil (she bought it herself-probably knoe her cooknig sux) for flavour....

I dun understand y some ppl r stingy to the extend to their only grandchild.... its as if she has no feelings for her... n tat its jsut a duty...

Even my hb's aunts (father side) talked to me abnt baby's nutrition and told me to cook myself... but how.... have to work.... so am thinking of preparing the food in ready pack containers n letting MIL cook(so she got no excuse to put only carrot in the porridge). Wat else can i include? This is a list of food i've tried so far:

-pumpkin
-broccoli
-sweet potato
-dry scallop
-pork (jus for flavour)
-Egg yolk
-cauliflower

Any more suggestions?

Joann S
I've been freezing vegetable stock, ikan bilis stock...so my helper can just put a few cubes into the slow cooker with water, rice, meat (fish, chicken or pork) and some vegetables (few mins before eating)..i won't have to worry about what she cooks for my boy when I go work! Can have a lot of 'combinations' as well!

At least the stock makes the porridge tasty! And i think some nutritional value still left in the stock after freezing? :p

Joann: how about cooking with stock? U freeze it then ask ur mil cook with it.. Or u cook night b4 in slow cooker morning take out of cooker and into thermal flask. Ur mil just re heat if needed.

allergy test> erms. shuld i juz bring my boy to do the allergy test? cos i dunno if he is allergy to anything. but funny is, there was once he eat this brown rice si sen phone, den he got rashes, when he can eat brown rice + si sen fen seperate n i mix tgt -_-

joann> can put anything wor. from pork, chicken, fish, ikan billis, scallop, egg yolk, sweet potato, pumpkin, carrot, n many many more =p

i normally do vegetable stock cos will always put meat anyway!

No fixed recipe..i just put all kinds of vegetable together, boil for an hour, strain then freeze

but can put anything, potatoes, carrots, celery, sweet corn, onion...avoid green leafy vegetables though

liz,
i agree with u, the pre school teacher not fantastic. though i love to be in this line, i never go into it coz of the pay lor..sign.

pris,
can send me invitation on the online scrapbook. i like to view it as well. been searching around for online kind of thingy of scrapbook.

My mum usuAlly uses slow cooker. Chicken with carrots or corn or other hArd vegs. Then u divide the stock into the portions u need and freeze. Can keep 4 3 weeks but u'll use it up b4 that lah.

Joann S, for stock, I don't specially make for Ray. I usually boil more soup at night and scoop it up before serving dinner and let it cool and store in the fridge for next day to cook porridge for Ray. So different day, Ray gets different flavour and I add in meat and vegetables on that day itself.

Anyway, the soups are rather tasty and sweet that no seasoning required.

I only do these at the initial stage where he started solid and refused cereals. My husband does not like the idea of freeze up food for a couple of day for baby use. He prefers freshly cooked ones for baby,

Now Ray is eating what we eat without seasoning.

Joann S,

i also FTWM and my bb got to eat my cooked food at night everyday...

hmm,
i cook only on the day itself b4 going off to work w/o any soup base stock...

i used thermal pot...cook on stove for 10 mins (water boiling) and put in outer pot...

when i reach home(12 hours later) it is still hot(not warm)...
cos it's not open after i set it into the outer pot...

just to add...
i prefer to cook my stock at night, then cool it before putting into the fridge.
on the next day, i'll heat up the stock then use.
reason is that way i can scoop up the oil/fats that is floating on the soup easily!

so far i have tried 2 types of stock only:
a) chicken bones, carrot, onion, corn
b) pork ribs, cabbage, carrot, onion, corn

it really makes the porridge very yummy! for weekends, i always cook a larger pot. some for baby. the rest for me and hubby - we'll add seasoning and century eggs and shredded chicken =)

Ya, have to agree porridge taste good with stock, and dun even need to put seasoning if for adults!

But my stock is simple de, either chicken bones, pork bones or ikan bilis.

Do u all add in alot of ingredients for the porridge? Most of the time i only add in 1 meat & 1 vege, normally green leafy vege.

joyful> im fine by this... both my girls inclusive huh?

:) thnx.

pegsfur, Usually one meat/fish or vegetables. But I do add in egg, tofu and ikan bilis.

Now Ray can eat whole egg without allergy, I will scoop out into small pot and crack in an egg and add tofu to boil abit more before serving. Add ikan bilis powder.

I do the same for each portion, just ours go with ikan bilis.

same for ur frend but not inviting her kid to go on stage leh..

btw each couple is limited to bringing only 1 helper FOC. To bring other additional adults then it is $6 per adult.

Appreciate to keep this arrangement within our group/friends as event organiser will be charging other people who intend to bring helper.
