Hi Mommies, its been a long while since I last step in here. Hope everyone is good! Yay.

Karen...!
my sumo baby also CHUBBY but recenty after crawling, she lost abit of weight. Actually many pple comment baby so cute and chubby but haven't heard pple say FAT. omg, so tactless. *heartbroken

Babiesme
are you referring the a BP in the forum? one of my shoppers told me she is organising the BP... am tempted to get it too!

Random question : Anyone happen to be going for a free workshop, 'Woman Extraodinaire' this evening by Merry Riana? Advertised in Straits Times yesterday. A motivational talk by this lady called Merry Riana, who is a mother and multimillionaire entrepreneur at age of 26.

karen> haha. chubby good leh. my parents see my boy so thin, now they see chubby baby they will go wow. baby must be chubby, y bb so thin -_-"

Morning

BB,
My mil doesn't believe in privacy. Last time when we first shifted into our house, we start to lock our masterbedroom whenever we are out, cos previously when we stayed at her flat when waiting for ours, we dun hv the keys to the bedroom & so din lock. She commented that we must hv kept a golden goose inside our room, dat's why need to lock our door. Crazy!

Anyway, i'm so damn blardy irritated by her .. have been facing her the whole day for the past week. Gonna bring ovann out later BY HOOK OR BY CROOK ... else i'm going mad liao.

Karen, my bb also quite big..she's ard 10kg now but she always got the attention from passerby due to her chubbiness & pple will comment she's so cute
happy.gif

so dun care abt wat the auntie says, cheers!

Pegsfur,

Seriously, I'm curious. Do you cook for MIL or MIL cooks for you when u both are at home? I find that mealtime would be the most awkward esp if you relationship with MIL is so bad.

daph,

Haha .. no lor, i will never cook for her. And we eat seperately. We've never had a meal together for so long liao, ever since the fight. It's good cos like u said, it's awkward. And i wldn't want to spoil my appetite. Not that i'm being bitchy or wat .. the way she eats is pretty terrible. She likes to flip & choose the food with her chopsticks (when she eats with us), sometimes even stir her chopsticks into the food in order to get wat she wants. And eats with her legs on the chair like a rickshaw puller.

any more mummies want to lopang me to pick up baby bag for the Baby's Day out event?

if u dun mind waiting, i can bring during the bday bash..

Haha so far I only get 'cute' comments from passerbys and some taking second look or telling their friends to look at them. Some after seeing my son will try to sneak a peek at my gal in the stroller. Never ever chubby. I've skinny kids.

janice,

tink no need lah.. will just mention ur name..

-------

bday bash

any idea how many families will there be?
tinking of asking U Family to see if they can sponsor us anything.. but term will b all of us hav to be on their mailing list.. is tat okie?

Hmm, for me, my boy doesn't receive any comment leh.. maybe coz he doesn't smile at strangers when he's out. So pple wouldn't even comment that he's cute. But most importantly, I think he's cute can already.

pegsfur

Now I understand what your MIL is like. Quite "special". So I assume that she's the type who will fart loud loud at home also.

how's everyone?? hard to keep track of this thread coz it moves so fast!!

my boy is 10 mths old y'day - haven't weigh him in a while but i think about 8kg+? he lost some weight coz was having diarrhoea for 1 week plus.

someone asking abt helium tank rental?? i used this company for my gal's 1st birthday in 2008 - 67854929 and will probably use them again for boy's 1st birthday... save me the trouble of transporting helium balloons in my pathetic saloon car.

what is this 'baby's day out' thing?? and what t-shirt?!?! i'm missing out!!

Pegsfur and those mummies interested in Punggol Plaza tumbletots,

Sorry hor...I have been so busy nursing my 2 kids back to health recently so haven't gone to ask about tumbletots trial.

Somemore its school holiday now so I think more difficult to see them open for biz.

MIL

What exactly does privacy mean for MIL to go into a bedroom ah? I also notice that when my mil is at my place, she will go in to our bedroom early morning if bb cries.

as in when my bb cries, we have to open our door to make milk or water for her. then MIL will come in to our room. does that mean she has invaded my privacy too?

i don like it either.. but i m not sure if i would be marked as rude if i would to tell her not to come in wor.

Pegsfur, I guess your mil is not so smart lah. She should know that if she is not in good term with her son's wife, she is like losing a son. Anyway, we've to understand that the older generation does not believe in privacy because in olden days, most families r not well to do, there might be a few families sharing same house or room, but yet they can have many children. However lifestyles hv changed and their mindset has to change too else cannot blend in, will be a lonely living soul.

hi michele,
you are back ! finally ! I remember your boy was one of the heaviest at birth, probably the heaviest boy in our August mummies list. Oh dear, why diarrhea ?

We have submitted orders for the baby T-shirts, to wear during the birthday base in September. You could ask/email sharon [email protected] if you could add yours ?

PS: I'm not sure what's the baby's day out thing either.

hi joyful,
Having sponsors for the bb bash sounds like a great idea ! i wouldn't mind providing email addresses to their mailing list.
What do the rest think ?

michele & Joeey

Baby's Day Out was an event by U Family (a community under NTUC) registeration is FOC.

they organise many activities n events for married couples n families related.

Baby's Day Out was held in mid April, few of the mummies attended here. some talks, complimentary photoshoot and a mini baby race was held during the event. It was at Little Skool House at Tampines Junction.

Find out more abt them here: http://www.ufamily.org.sg/public/index.aspx

sweetmama, privacy is defined by individuals. One may not feel anything about ppl touching his/her personal things in the office desk, but others may kick a big fuss. It's a personal space you draw around you. For instance, my youngest BIL does not like ppl to ask where he will be going, or where he had been. But for me, I'll definitely tell my MIL where I m going cos I know she is concerned but for my BIL, he thinks it's intruding his privacy.

pegsfur,
it's not easy staying with a MIL and let alone, yours is not understanding to your feelings... you could tell your MIL that you don't want her to go inside your room, just keep telling her, each time she goes into your room, to reinforce the idea in her...

It's ok, dun worry. Glad that your 2 kids are ok liao
happy.gif

sweetmama,
Like wat BB said, if u find it offending or if u dun feel comfortable, i'd say she's intruding your privacy. But if u r ok with it, den u won't feel that she's intruding yr privacy. Like if it's my mum going into my bedroom, i'm totally ok with it. Not becos i'm biased as she's my mum, but becos she's cared for ovann since the day he's borned, so naturally, she's like a '2nd mama' to him and wld most prob know what he wants.

BB,
Ya, she forgotten that she lost her son when she started the fight with me. Not that i've been telling stories to hubby behind her back, but that hubby has seen it for his own eyes wat his own mum has done.

joeey,
She's the type who wldn't listen to u ... if i were to tell her not to enter my room, she's sure to ask why cannot go in. U know, i'm already so sick & tired of quarelling with her liao, wldn't want to start another round. So this morning, i woke up wwwwaaaaayyy earlier so that i can finish cooking ovann's porridge b4 he wakes up
sad.gif
Tired!

joyful,
That place sounds fun ... quite interested in it but like wat mashy said, it's the hmfd peak now. Probably can wait till the situation gets better then arrange for it
