Sandy Dee, you just celebrate your gal's 1st birthday, don't have to celebrate your bil's son birthday. It's your bil and his wife's job to celebrate their own son's birthday. I will not include the name in the cake too.

If need to, just buy a cheap cake for the boy coz your bil is so too much. And wanna celebrate together then must share cost. You invite your hubby's side, your side and your own friends.

If u heart soft now and pay for everything, then u be prepared, every year from now on he'll will expect u to pay for his son's bday..

i will not include his name into the cake also like what pris suggest.

Get a girly cake and put only ur daughter's name.

If ur BIL ask y u so calculative, ask him if he will organize a party for his son and ur daughter and he pay for everything...

This ovann ... time for his nap liao he still refused to sleep when i rock him. So fed up i 'threw' him on the bed & ignore him. He whined abit, then start to toss & roll abt in his cot. 5mins later, he's asleep liao. *Angry*

Now that u mentioned, i remembered i oso din enjoy my boy's baby shower，and can u believe it, except for the 2 pcs of bread & milo i had for breakfast, i din eat anything during the party, cos i was simply too tired and depressed

First of all, i was having post natal blues. 2ndly, MIL created drama (as usual) and cried in front of ALL our friends & relatives, saying she feels very 委屈 cos she, as a grandma, has no chance to carry my boy. Well, tat was true, cos she was creating hell for me even the 1st day of my confinement at home, so i refused to let her go near my boy.

Then when she saw that my relatives & hubby's friends are here, she quickly call her friends & relatives and inform them abt the baby shower. Who in the world will give pple last minute notice to attend baby shower one? Crazy!

So now talking abt 1-yr old celebration, i'm like u, dunno how to celebrate.

Hahaha .. ya lor! My back hurts when i carry & rock him for too long, so i cldn't take it anymore and dump him in his bed. Then he just fell asleep on his own within 5mins.

Oh ya ... kena scratched by coalie .. hahah ... but it was an accident lah. Coalie wanted to jump up to the sofa but missed her footing, and fell off the sofa. Ovann was on the floor and just nice, coalie's ‘claws’ swipe past Ovann's face when she tried to break the fall lor.
 
Sandy Dee, Kai's birthday is between my niece and nephew's birthday but the parents book and pay for the place where we go for all family celebration we used, celebrate Kai's 1st birthday with my niece and nephew so I gotten each an ice cream cake during Kai's 1st birthday party. And last year, when we celebrate Ray's 1st month, they booked the place and paid for it for us again and we have the holiday bungalow for 3 days. So depending on how close your relationship are and coz my family are very close knitted and Kai sometimes stay overnight at their place too when we are in Sg.
 
Sandy, if I m u, I wont share my baby birthday party with BIL unless he paid. Must hv 2 separate cakes. Since relatives n friends r buying gifts for 2 kids, must prepare food n gifts that worth their gifts, else very paisei. My baby one month party, every guest brought home full month cake too cos we think it's very paisei to accept their gifts with buffet only $18 per pax. Also, must assign BIL to run errands too, cannot do on my own.

BB, like you, we also give 1st month cake together with ang Ku kueh and red eggs.

Sandy Dee, you just send invitation cards out with your girl's name will do. If he wants to celebrate his boy's birthday, then he has to go get his own cake. And it is not fair to guests who do not know him to get gift for his boy too. I will not add in his boy's in invitations too.

anyway dont i dont give tofu often.. gave it initially cos havent into meat yet and i felt she needed protein.
 
Yah lor Pris. That's why the 1st month cake I ordered for 2 separate day delivery to my house. One day, I special delivered to friends, colleagues, relatives not invited to the next day party. N the other day which was the party day, I distributed to guests came for the party. I remember so tedious, I had to pack the Ang Ku Kueh (specially ordered from Everton Park) and the red eggs made by my MIL cos I dont like the cake maker's ones. My hb had to drive to Everton Park 2 times for the 2 days cos the ang ku kway would be fresher. Heehee... but it was fun and everyone was happy. Not easy so many errands to run for a party. So Sandy, must assign ur BIL to run some for u, ok, else really lie straight straight...

during my baby shower, wanted to order buffet but was stopped by them hubby's sis offer to cooked n we bought the ingredient end up we oso paid her n is more expensive than orderin.
when we wan to cut cake onli my fren is ard to withness my hubby's family r busy playin their majong no matter how i ask n ask they did not bother.
me, hubby, daughter n fren can onli hide in room cos they happily smokin away in the livin rm

My hubby was too busy playing host to his friends to notice, cos they were seated outside. On that day, MIL already showed a stupid black face the whole morning and got even angrier when my mum came over to help dye the red eggs.

When my aunt arrived, she literally 'kidnapped' her and bring her to one side to complain abt me. And when my BIL arrived, she started to say sacarstic things abt me. She said 'oh, today is a happy occassion. All's well and nice, except that my son married the wrong wife'. Then thru out the day, she showed black face. At the end of the day, she almost got into a quarrel with my hubby's colleagues! My hubby was so paiseh.

After the whole thing, only me & hubby cleaned up the house while she still give that 'buay song' face. Finally hubby cldn't take it anymore and thrash things out with her.

At my boy's 1st birthday, I let my cousin whose birthday is a few days away celebrate together. I paid for everything, except her birthday cake which her parents bought. Coz it's my party and she tag along, her guests are only our common relatives. To me, it's ok since same pp anyway, just some extra time to sing song.

Actually in medical field, Philippines follow the FDA standards very closely. In fact, they r very stringent. I'll read up about Milk Powder standards in Philippines n see if they r as stringent. Basically I would trust those reputable products made there.
 
not i selfish don wanna celebrate wif them jux tat they will haf lots lots comnplain. i don mind get a cake but if to haf a party my fren got to buy 2 present is very unfair. my nephew is now in sec 3 almost all his fren is those ah lian ah beng type which i don reali like.i already plan to haf either hello kitty or sesame st theme wif them they sure say alot of things they wont follow wat i plan even i don haf the theme.
since baby shower is so bad im sure bday sure worse.therfore i rather celebrate on our own. haf already "warn" hubby not to say out.

Sharon & BB, I called nestle yesterday abt the milk power origin from Philippines instead of Switzerland. The lady told me both factories are made for Nestle Singapore compliances to S'pore's standard on milk powder so both are equally good.

Sharon, i still saw NTUC (near my hs) & gold storage selling FM that manufactured from Switzerland so u can search around. So even HA are from philippines now?
