hope #2 also follow me...cos daddy's head is big...
but hor those going natural have to see if the bb cooperate cos if bb facing tummy then bit difficult to push liao...
must get bb to face mama's back...
 
Jules, same...I also opt for TBF in hosp then end up my boy started crying for milk on day 3 when we are back home. So have to end up sending hb out to get a small tin of FM to 'dong' 1st.

That's why I already decided on Partial BF this round from day 1 so that I get to rest at night and bb won't be hungry. Will aim for TBF after my milk ss comes in.
 
Remember reading previously that we can start drinking papaya fish soup? From how many weeks onwards?

Also is there any other things to take to boast the milk supply now as well as when baby is out? Hope to succed in BF this time

Also, any mummies having daily headaches only at certain time of the day? I have been having headaches every morning for the last couple of days. Wonder anything serious?
 
Thanks Sharon for the toyogo warehouse info. Toa payoh is kinda far for me cos i stay in the west and no car ...

tulip, i heard from a collegue who just told me (even in Mrs wong class, she said that too) to request for bb to be put on your breast immediately when bb is out, it does help to make the milk comes faster..am going to request for that also

but based on what my gynae cal and told me last visit on mon(am 30wk+2days)...hmmm
i think she used back my LMP date which is edd at 40 wks is on 24Aug...

anyway i have just put in my ML from 24 aug...

I'm scared of bb crying for milk if my supply has not come in too .... cos that's the time when kpo mil will come and say feed bb with FM better and things like dat.

I'm confused leh ... wld bb prefer FM over breastmilk later on? Then wat abt nipple confusion if feed bb FM for the 1st few days?
 
Nicole, yah i heard abt it. But i think gotta discuss with Gynae as well cos mine is c-section. From what i rmebr, abt baby is out, take a look & have some pictures, the anasthecian will put me on full GA for gynae to stitch back b4 sending to ward.

picking the "extras..." from the dried husk(after i filter 2x b4 passing to her)

still got a 2nd bag of husks to sun and filter...

latching the bb straight after birth, this means after the bb is after wash up rite and the bb will be push to the ward to find us ah. . than who shld we inform tat we wan the bb to lacth on immediately leh?

for bfing.. i find that latching bb and pumping to stimulate milk flow is very impt.. got to be consistent in the latching, pumping.. like every 3 hours.. regardless of how long bb latch.. i'll still pump after she has latched on..

and got to drink lots of soup and water..

i remember my #1.. i cried and cried so much over this bfing thing.. keep insisting that i want to tbf but milk supply was low.. then i still force myself to pump every 3 hourly coz bb didn't want to latch.. in the end.. managed to bf #1 for 15mths.. so quite happy with myself over it..

no no.. latching straight after birth means once bb is out.. take measurements then will be pass to u to latch liao.. havent really washed up yet.. just towel clean only..

usually its still done in the delivery ward.. and after that.. bb and mummy will be pushed to the ward together..

this is what happened for my #1 at TMC..

can still natural birth but more diff to push out ur gynae may use vacuum or forcep to pull the baby out.. which is the assisted natural birth..

i read sometimes assisted natural, bb may get bruises on the head or even face...so poor thing

Actually i also dun know why face outside is difficult leh, i only know my #1 was assisted delivery (vacuum).

she is now in delivery suite monitoring baby's heartbeat n contractions....but doc say if really bb decides to come out, survival rate is v high

i tink it the direction bah.. assisted deliver esp forcep will leave a mark on baby face but will go away 1... so jus hope our baby face the right direction?

i was thinkin it has something to do with the vaginal tunnel if baby facin front den the body etc dun go well with the tunnel direction? i also not v sure...

well,
when my #1 come out...
she is having her face facing my tummy which make the bb glide out of the birth canal unsmooth...
when bb's facing our back their face will glide out smoothly...

i only know this after i tried to push my#1 out for 1 hr until my gynae said
must use vaccuum cos her facing directions is wrong...so difficult for me to push and at that time i no strenght cos the "laughing gas"

me will still puke if bb get sick of something or i eaten something that irritate him...
 
Nicole mine is c-sect with Epi, but after baby is out the anasthetic will gv another shot to knock me out totally leh....

petrina how to ascertain how long to pump for each side of breasts? last time i use the manual pump n gave up after like 15 minutes cos is so tiring n the volumn is so pathetic.

shirley GA= fully knocked off with anesthtic.

why is there a need for the gynae to give another shot to knock u out completely after the delivery with epi?

i'm still thinking whether to go for GA or epi c-section...coz my baby seemed to be breeched...

i din knw the facing of the bb does affect the birth process.. all along, i tot as long as the bb is heading downwards, the delivery will be easy.....

so now the standard is
#1 must head down
#2 must engage
#3 must face the back...not tummy...(this is too difficult to control liao)
 
Cloudme, the 3 standard items reali tough to fulfil ley... and they r beyond our control... goodness!!! so now, i kinda understand y mani mummies out ther are gg for C-Sec. i wanted natural birth w/o epi all the time, but i am having second thoughts now...

dun worry so much la... even if the baby not facin the back can still use assisted 1.. unless it ur baby refuse to come out...

Arrgh! Mt tummy hurts! He is stretching very vigorously inside. Wonder if he's cramped or he's trying to turn headdown. Sort of can feel the legs on the right side of my tummy move progressively from the waist height to 45 degree now. Ouch ouch!

Hahaha .. mine was wriggling the whole morning just now. At least after i finished my breakfast, he stopped. The past few days he's been kicking my ribs .... and having hiccups!
 
pegsfur, Joshua was on TBM for 6 mths after the FM supplements initially. He didn't reject the bm. But he cried very badly when I latch him after my milk ss came in. The letdown is slow so he not happy. As a 1st time mum, I panic as when he cries, people start knocking the door and ask what happened. So in the end I gave up latching and pump exclucsively for 1 year.

Sharon, I also have the wanna puke feeling on and off now.

Pegfur, ur bb wants breakfast so kicks around. my bb is more active at nite though..

Irene, i salute u for the 1 full yr of pumping, not easi at all. i wanna bf for as long as i can but is concern of the supply and whether bb will reject.....
