BbEthan,
I'm thinking of going down to the expo to see if there are any crayola stuff like the last fair. If available and price ok, I want to get some, cos the BP one location is so far to collect.

Thanks twinkle.

Bbethan,
Easy. I just look at the archives after 1st Aug 09 ~ everyone pop liao, so table would be updated

hahahahahahhahaha. I almost felt like tying MR up & gagging her last night after she kept waking at night. I have my not-so-new baby to keep me up all night, don't need a new one to add on to that at the moment =p

lamagier
MR is so adorable... forgive her!
she's not staying at yr aunt's place last night?

i'm so sian... cant wait for the day to be over.

Bbethan,
I typically bring her back for one night on wednesday and send her back to my aunt's early Thur morning. She's turning into spoilt brat, so so many adults attending to her every need

I want to go home too. Sian... Next public holiday need to wait till national day...

You still clearing leftover maternity leave?

lamagier
ya... i'm only left with 2 days of ML to clear. creating long weekend for myself these 2 wks... hiak... that also means she's going to turn 1 in just 2 weeks! so fast!

my girl also very manja leh. dont get what she wants, will give those fake cries and give u the kelian look. somemore can still cry with close eyes and occasionally open her eyes to peek if we are looking *shake head*

she's really showing more and more of her character now.

Oh Lamagier, yes please, thank you. Would like to see how it looks like, whether easy to use, clean up and washable or not.

Good morning mums!

Am planning to get my boy a new stroller this GSS. He is really starting to outgrow his Combi Miracle Turn, so much for the salesgirl telling me it can last up to 4-yrs-old... His legs always stick out and I think his butt is going to be too big for the seat soon!

As I often travel with baby alone, I need something that is not too heavy and is easy to handle, especially if I am loading the stroller into a taxi. Think I want something not too heavy and if there is a good shade/raincover, that would be even better. Usually stroller is used for shopping centres and pavements lah, not going to go jogging with him. :p

Maclaren seems v popular but I am so confused by all the choices. The XT (?) seems the most popular but also quite heavy, yes? Then there is also the Triumph and the Quest. All look almost the same to me! Mums who use Maclaren, what do you think?

I saw Obaby Atlas at Kiddy Palace and it seems quite sturdy and the sunshade can be pulled almost all the way down, quite nice. Anyone using this?

Not sure if I should just get a cheapish umbrella one from Mothercare since after all when our babies are toddlers they won't be so interested in sitting in the stroller, right? Please give your suggestions and feedback, thanks!

sunnyduck: The difference between the Maclaren Triumph and Quest is the recline. The XT can be fully reclined and can be used from newborn onwards. It's also the heaviest. The Quest reclines less and is a lot lighter than the XT. Triumph reclines less than the quest and is slightly lighter. Then there is the Volo, which is the mesh material, extremely light but cannot recline, more suitable for toddlers in my opinion. We have a Quest which both Max and Ally share. Its easy to fold, even when I'm alone with 2 kids. HTH

Sunnyduck,
I would say go with the Triumph or Quest, if you can make do with some shade and bit of recline when the kids wanna rest in the stroller. I got the Techno XT myself, the techno series is pretty heavy, topping ard 4.7kg up, but I like the sturdiness of it, and the shade is pretty maximised with extension of the shade that's zipped up. XT comes with raincover. The wheels are the largest, which makes maneuvering less easy around tight corners. Comes with 3M strip around the edge, a safety feature especially at night (lol more so cos mine is black seat on black frame!)

I recommend going for stroller with a steel frame, rather than the earlier infant type where the frame is held together with plastic joints. It makes a difference when managing steps or even escalators (hehe :p), that you don't feel that you are pushing the limits of the stroller especially with a heavier child. There are alternatives to the Maclaren brand, which I think don't fare too bad either.

sunnyduck, yeah XT is the heaviest, but also the sturdiest. sometime my 20kg Nigel insists to sit on it, still can survive (but I cannot push him, too heavy). now I want to buy my second mac laren. my choice will be Day tripper because it's lighter then Quest and cheaper. only $129 retail. the daytripper is as light as Volo, I reckon, but can be reclined down like Quest. Sam, is that right? my gf bought hers during taka sale for $89 only. May be I got to go baby hypermart.

etirto
ya. robinsons CM sales start today.
daytripper cannot be reclined.

i saw from an ad... if not wrong, is from Spring Maternity. they hv a booth at the expo bb fair and selling the quest at $199 (same promo as that in taka fair).

Jillian, Sam, Etirto, BBEthan,
Thanks for your feedback! The Quest seems like a viable option - will go check it out at the Taka Fair since Expo is much too far for me to travel.

Just occurred to me that one of the 'useful' things about my Combi and its fully-reclinable seat is that it makes a good emergency diaper change area! Hahaha.

Guess i'll have to learn to adapt!

Any mums not using Maclaren? It seems like one of the most popular brands in S'pore.

Etirto,
According to the robinson's mailer I have, yes the cardmember's sale starts today. 4 - 6 June.

lamagier
i also wanna see the crayons! but my class is in the afternoon
sad.gif
Btw, any specific crayon types for starters/babies? so many choices in the BP u posted, I can't decide hehe..

Hi mummies,

ANYONE interested to take my friend’s place in the JG holiday programme – THIRD WEEK??

She was supposed to join us this week but her girl fell ill and so she pushed her slot till the third week so if anyone interested, let me know. It’ll be around $244 (20% discount) because there were 4 of us who signed up tog.

It’s at Evans Road, 11 – 12.30 every day. Not sure if you can change time slot though.
It ends with an outing on the last day.

hey mummies
re: suntec book fair

do check out the suntec book fair tis weekend if u have time. really good buys there. saw some dr seuss books (glossy paper not board) gg for < $10, sorry mummy's brain, cannot recall booth participant's name

Etirto
the daytripper doesn't recline like the quest. Quest can recline more. But it's good enough for an older kid. My gal's legs are too short in the daytripper. So I only use that when I go market. Like all maclarens, they topple easily so don't load stuff at the handles. But it's smooth going and it changed my hb's view about branded strollers and the cheaper options.

I'm using peg perego as my main stroller now coz it can take my 2 kids At the same time. It also doesn't topple easily just that it's heavy. I love it and have not regretted getting it.

lamagier
thank u, thank u! Will check out the links..

chiyojade
yet to go but will be going either tonite or tomorrow morning.. anything u wanna look for specifically?

ChiyoJade, I went last night. I only bought nepia diapers at $14+2pcs foc/pack and crayola fingerpaints at 20% discount.

mashy, how many position is day tripper?

lamagier, I have already ordered the "naomi" silver in original. the flex is so damn expensive in the bp. from the website is cheaper. shipping is not bad too.

monday blues...

Re: sleep
MR went to bed at 8pm on sat. But the thing is, her whole bedtime shifted earlier by 3hrs. So she woke at about 4.30am and started slapping me to wake me up. Sigh...
Thankfully she got bored after seeing neither the husband or me are willing to wake up and went back to sleep. She needs some more sleep training

linsu, there is beginner crayon shaped like a ball from crayola. http://www.crayolastore.com/product_detail.asp?T1=CRA+80-8209
I bought those but haven't open yet. mine is the crayon (there are markers as well) and it can be drawn on the tub! fun, right.
Meant for babies from 18M.
I bought tons of crayola products for my kids (and for myself!) heheh...I love it because it's non toxic and some are erasable. The crayon, color pencil and markers that can be erased. Just turn to the other tip and you can erase. When I was young there is no such thing la. hehehe

Tupperware:
who was asking abt tupperware trade in? My friend is back from her trip and she would need more info to advise if trade in is possible.

My boy said mum....mee (mummy) on Saturday.

Etirto,
I'm also addicted to Crayola stuff now =) I think linsu is also now one too. Hee.
But MR tried to eat the ta-doodle crayons yesterday. So I guess, like you, should probably keep it till she's older.

By the way, I got the new bold colour finger paints. It is a bit harder to wash off clothings compared to the older one, more expensive pricer. But the colours are definitely brighter and more vibrant =p

hello mummies! am back..

most of our lil ones will soon be turning one! I've decided to hold a mini party within family members just at my cosy home! Am planning to go for a photography session thou..din go for one since pregnant or even after he was born!

Now could be a good gift for him..Any recommendations?? Visited some of the website of those studios who advertise in the 'business' forum...too many package options and dunno which is good for $$...Pls share ur experince okie?

Cheers!

Hi Blessed,

I'm bringing my son for 1st yr photography sesion with Seau Lau photography. He charges S$248 for 2hrs sessions. We'll be going this Thurs cause he fully booked till Aug. Got this slot cause got last min cancellation.

Linsu, peanut,
The Crayola bold colour pain stains clothes!!! =(
MR has a white and orange dress and it now has very faint patches of yellow and red on it. The hankerchied that I used to wipe red paint off her face is also patchy. Sign. Luckily she has almost outgrown the dress and I was going to put it away.

Do remember to put a bib on your babies before starting to paint. Or let them wear on diapers. The paint wipes off skin fairly easily

Dear mummies

I've posted the new packaging of the yopliat baby yogurt on my face book coz don't know how to strink the size to post here. bought from Vivo cold storage.

they only have banana and vanilla flavour

Lamagier, wah kaoz! The sale girl said no problem in removing. I do hope it will totally be removed after a few more wash.

etirto
got it at the expo & last nite when I dinno what to play with her anymore, I took this out. And u know what she did, she rolled it like the vtech ball.. (>____<) then she took 2 of them & 'kok kok kok' each other... I gave up hehe.. Guess it's really meant for 18M+ or maybe after a few times introduced then she'll know..

lamagier
alamak!!! Thx for warning! I'll take note to use only diaper & the singlet. Was the stain on the floor (if there's any) easily removed? If not, I'll put a big big plastic to cover =P Oya, thx for MPH's info too! I was just asking etirto abt the Usborne. Saw the ones at her plc, so cute so cute!

Peanut,
Think prob will have to use a bit of bleach to get the paint out. But the bold colours are really a lot more vibrant compared to the older version

linsu
i also got the 3 ball paints like etirto's.
haha... stacia so funny! she thinks it's toys huh? (but it does looks like toys). i guess amanda will play like that too.
haven't yet to open n let them try cos i haven't buy any drawing paper for them to play on. dun want to risk the floor.

lamagier
re MPH sale. the children books are more for older children, not suitable for our babies. a lot of adult novels and some cookbooks only.

bbethan
hehehe.. i actually also haven't bought the drawing paper, wanna get those big ones & let her sit on it.. we got 2-3 strokes on the floor & it's quite easy to remove. I use wet tissue.
