Linsu,

Thank you

hehehe...bbethan, I'm exactly like you, with #1 I always say NO to foreign or 'unhealthy' food. now he end up being so difficult with food. so now I'm turning my #2 to be able to eat 'anything'. but can see the different in the interest. my #1 only interested in play, while #2 will approach us to try the food when we're eating, etc. but generally girl is easier to feed. hehehe...
Btw, the shop at PS selling pediped at $59.90 also? you get anything for Amanda?

HBB, when is the next Mattel sale? heheh...I'm running out of toys already.

I wonder whether pediped is under blue tag item in Metro, if yes, then can get 20% disc during the sale and bday mth.

etirto
haha... yes. my girl very greedy compared to the brother. she stops whatever she does when she sees any of us eating and inches forward to us until she gets a share. else, she'll get very upset.

if i'm not wrong it's $63.90. didn't get any cos i find it a bit ex for a pair of shoes that lasts a few mths. she can only fit into 6-12mths with a bit of allowance which i think can lasts her a few mths at most. 12-18mths is way too big for her. but i'm still debating whether to get it. i'm eyeing 2 pairs! my hb will sure shake head if he knows the price.

are the pedipeds in metro at the children section or shoes section?

metro is at children section. I saw the mothercare (paragon one) selling at $59.90 per pair. I was very tempted also, seeing the red patent one. so pretty. But didn't buy it also. hehehe...don't buy the 6-12M. if you want to buy, buy the 12-18M. afterall, they start the real walking at 12M only.

hi mummies,
sorry i left out the details,

area of stay is bedok...

pt-helper/cleaner to help do housechores
prefer to come during wkends
$$/hr between $10-$15.

those with recommendations do pm me.
thanks

I got the pair of mini-shoez via gap.com. Robeez are mostly pre-walkers, but do have non-slip soles, good for the climbing around, don't fall off, especially when she's swinging her legs away in the bjorn.

Pediped shoes: There is also a shop at United Sq (ground level - only selling shoes) which also sells pediped shoes. :)

I think OG also sells them.

Oh! And I found a shop at United Sq that sells frozen baby food. Very cool for us mums(esp working mums w/o helpers) who want to feed them home-cooked food!!!! No need to cook. No salt, no nothing, just like how we would blend our together. I cannot remember the name, but it's near Toast Box. I think there was a write-up about it in the press. And they do delivery as well!

Can't wait to start my weekend. My turn to have horrid wake-every-hour-by-baby nights. MR don't look sick, plays and eat as normal, so it's teething???
So frazzled that I forgot to bring all my bottles and funnels to work... sigh. It'll be super-size boobs today

TJE, if you buy the gucci one for her, must put the 3M double side tape, heavy duty one on sole of the feet so the shoes won't come off at all when you go jalan-jalan. Believe me, baby shoes is the number 1 item in the lost and found counter. it's very easy to come off. I stand by the pediped and 'see kai run' prewalker shoes already. kekeke...starting size 12-18M, then 18M-24M, 2Years, 2.5Y, 3Y. I'm very impulsive when come into shoes. Even for my new coming baby, I'm buying 2 pairs of pediped for him already. Don't even have the name yet but got shoes already. heheh...

Btw, I have just join the oshkosh/carter spree. they have newly set webbie but don't accept singapore credit card. so in the end the spree organizer use the courier service. but still worth it I think because the price is so damn cheap. 2 pc for $10. (that's the promo last week):
http://www.carters.com/on/demandware.store/Sites-Carters-Site/default/Home-Show?id=oshkosh&cm_mmc=ETOshKosh-_-eCommerce-_-2+for+%2410+1+Week+Left-_-Shop+Real+Deals
local 1 top selling at $30 or $20 at the cheapest during private sale.

Lamagier,
hehe maybe go home early and work from home for the rest of today? TGIF!

ETirto,
My stride rite shoes just got in from the postman just now. Piperlime branding is very cute lar, but a really small box for the shoes inside their shipping box with an airbag for 1/3 of the space. The shoes are just so cute, tempted to get more shoes now at one shot, since I'm tired of collecting from sprees now, so much easier to just have the postman deliver.

aiyo, poor Lamagier, u must b so tired. ya, try and go home early.

mummies, pls help enlighten tis lost soul. is green pepper the same as capsicum? how much tofu to feed our bbs? 1/8 of the box?

mummies, if no firm job offer by end may. bon will b out of infant care in jul & me will b SAHM liao =)

Lamagier - aiyoh. Take leave!! Urgent leave! TGIF! Don't get clogged ducts like me. About the teeth question - I don't think you need to worry. Just give the teeth more time and they should erupt.

Lina - capsicum = peppers whether green or red or yellow.
By the way, why do you refer to your baby as bon? Real name? Or cute nickname?????

Thanks Pinky.
I work on island =p no shops to buy bottles or bags or get from other people. Sigh.

Sam, On course the whole day =(. Can't go off early

Etirto,
Hahaha, you help me squeeze??? Sigh. Maybe squeeze into toilet bowl liao or just live with rock hard boobs till I go collect MR from my aunt later. Waste milk =( This is the 3rd time I forgot my bottles. Urg. Hate my pea brain.

Thanks Muffingal. Ah, you just reminded me... clogged ducts. Darn. I hate that too, in addition to forgeting my bottles. Sigh

lamagier
keep 2 extra bottles in yr office so that next time if you forget again, at least u hv bottles to hand squeeze into. no need to waste milk or risk clogged ducts.

sounds ironic.... i miss bf!

hello mummies,

long time no "see".. been busy with work and maid arrival...now trying to catch up with the posts..

RE: Runny nose during teething..
its the same as Diahorrea during teething.. its not the teeth sprouting causes it ist bec during teething, the child likes to put things intheir mouth to sooth the pain. so germs get in.. and so they get LS / runny nose / any kind of germs..

The above was told to me by my #1's PD.

For XR she is suffering from runny nose bec her jie jie is having them.. so they "share" the "goodies and baddies" together...

Lamagier,
How long do you intend to EBM?

I was thinking till XR turns 1 YO.. cos only 1 mths plus to go..

but how you intend to stop it?

Currently i'm pumping 12 hrly..

Sunsweet,
Heard from other mummies is from 28-30May.

Lamagier,
you are welcome, i did not help much. maybe you squeeze out a bit then you go home pump, so you will not clog duct, leakage and sore boob.

Lamagier, if you are not gonna stop bf so soon, you can buy the medela harmony pump at $101. It's a manual pump - super light. I have it in my pump bag to work all the time - in case my PIS has problems. There are no problems but I'm just scared!!! Can even pump without bottles!

Hi Sunsweet, long time no see.
happy.gif

I'm also still bf-ing T. He does not drink any fm at all.
He mostly latches on, I pump once or twice at work and I latch him on at lunchtime when I pop over to see him.

My friend told me that she cut down from 2 pumps to 1 pump a day gradually. And introduced more fm feeds.
I think I will use cabbage leaves to reduce engorgement slowly. Cabbage leaves are super potent at reducing milk production so one or two applications and you will notice reduction in milk production.

Headache now cos T has weaned himself off milk bottle. But is terrible at drinking milk from the straw!!!
Water - he can finish 150ml in 3 mins. Milk 150ml can take 30mins with lotsa fighting or entertaining him!!

Lamagier - jurong island can get cabbage??

Also, mummies, any suggestions on what fm I should try? Nan? Similac? Enfa-something?
I must get ready. Gonna cut down pumping in July!

MuffinGirl,
My boy is a fussy drinker. Initially, we tried Similac and he refused to drink. We resorted to try Nan H.A and Enfa. During the 1st stage, he drink Nan. However, when he turns 6mths, he din like the Nan H.A follow up formula. He is drinking Enfac now. You may consider buying smaller tin from Careerfour (more varieties) to test out first.

sunsweet
i also reduced from 12hourly pump gradually to 18hrs n eventually once a day. after 2-3days of once a day pump, the body gets the message n supply reduced a lot. then i pump on alternate days for a wk n stopped altogether.

muffingirl
depends on Tim. I tried giving her Similac, she doesn't like. Then i switch to Nan as the consistency of Nan is not as thick as Similac and closer to our BM. She prefers that and she has been on that since. thinking of switiching to Gain IQ after 1yo but not sure if she'll reject.

also i hv friends who tbf for long period... baby reject bottle and/or FM. Tried several brands and found Bellamy to suit their kids. so u may want to consider Bellamy too.

Sam, actually next time want to order from piperlime, check out from Oldnavy side. I always do that because usually I got purchases from gap and athleta, then ON packaging is so much better! yeah, I agree, I rather order myself and get the postman delivered. Hmmm...so tempted to order from Amazon, they have several baby shoes brand. Stride ride more exp than pediped le...

Muffingal, get a various sample from your PD. don't buy, later wasted. my 2 kids are on similac and never try other brand.
Your T can drink water very well hor...Naomi is still rejecting water up till now. the other liquid she drink is the fresh-squeezed orange juice, feed by spoon after meal. oh but she like to drink pool water. heheh..

muffingal, sunsweet,
I'm also intending to stop after MR turns one. A GP told me to reduce supply, just hand till your boob is not engorged and your supply will reduce drastically in a few days. She told me she's a mother of 6, so I guess it should be ok.
haha, no grocery shop where I am = no cabbage unless I go beg some from the canteen

Re: FM
I checked with the PD. He said Enfalac has the highest DHA content, but generally all FM are ok. My sis said SImilac is the sweetest while ENfalac has the least

thks muffingal. bon is my boy's real name =)

mummies using mamy poko for ur bbs, ntuc promo now. $19.95 for big pkt.

sunsweet, ur post reminds me of the chinese bean bean poem =)

Lina...

hehe chinese bean bean poem..

Cabbage leave helps?
in office how to have cabbage leaves stuck in at the breast?

Tim is so fortunate to have BM during lunch..

Thanks for info on fm.

Sunsweet, just slip it into the bra but cut a hole for the nipple. It will have a slightly stinging itchy feeling like that. Potent.

Lamagier, are you doing ok?
I just got clogged duct problem earlier this week, cos T is sick and didn't want to latch on at night.
Luckily the next day evening he was so hungry, he sucked out the clog and everything else that my boob went flat.

What an interesting name bon.

Asian mums hooked on Net

SINGAPORE - THE Internet is a lifeline for Asian mothers, with a survey finding two-thirds use it to shop for themselves and their children and an even bigger number going online to research purchases and talk about them.

The study, by Microsoft Advertising and Starcom MediaVest Group, showed that mothers ultimately hold the purse-strings in the region, influencing purchasing decisions ranging from household staples to big-ticket items such as cars. And their resource of choice to make these purchases is the Internet, with 58 per cent saying they used online networks and online customer reviews before actually buying.

"Mums have become the one-stop shop for family purchases, and brands need to be aware of this influence," Kenneth Andrew, managing director of Microsoft Advertising Greater Asia Pacific, told reporters. "Mothers are becoming increasingly digitally savvy, and conversely, much more cynical of advertising."

The survey was based on interviews with about 3,000 mothers in eight markets -- China, India, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan and South Korea. The respondents ranged from pregnant women to mothers with teenage children.

On average, the survey found that Asian mothers spend 17 hours a week online, and the sites they visited ranged from those offering media, such as music and video download sites, to social networks, to sites specifically catered to children.

But largely, the online activities of mothers depended on the age of their children, with expectant women relying on sites that allow them to interact with other mothers, while those with older children rely on the web for email and searches. -- REUTERS

ETirto,
issit? think you need to teach me more on shipping next time. I ordered thru ON cos I was using a discount code on a few other items, but the piperlime shoes ship separately. I didn't get shoes from the ON section though, don't have what I wanted. Think I'm going to order stuff again, got some items sitting on my amazon list for some time already.

Guess what, I'm like surfing at booster seats or those portable chairs. I was so bugged out by the lack of high-chairs when dining in Macau, that I wonder if it's a necessary for one of these when traveling with child. I mean, it's like dining in 5-star hotels and you've gotta hang on to your kid the whole time, ok sure, Macau is for gamblers and not kids, but come on... So, the question is, have such booster seats made it worth its investment for parents??

Hey Sam,

I have one that's lent to me and I LOVE it. It's perpetually in the car. I use it when I go to people's homes - those who don't have babies, and it's great if you go overseas - esp to countries that aren't baby friendly.
I don't recall seeing the brand here though, If you want the name, I can check it out for you tom - as it's in the car.

I was contemplating buying a second hand one (didn't want to spend too much money in case wasted) - but I wanted good condition - afraid of stains/spills, but then my friend passed me hers. :-D

I think it's also good when even when you go to a friend's place - even those who have babies as there is only usually one baby chair...

I would've thought that Macau was OK for babies. How was the trip?

lamagier!!! ARGHS!!! I MISSED it on Oprah tonight!!!! I remember saying that I wanted to watch it!!! If you go to my FB wall, some time back, I also posted a video - which has a different trailer from that of Oprah's - at least the start looks different(downloading the video now)! I want to watch this too!

Chiyojade,
This first baby overseas trip is an eye-opener experience for me. Packing-wise I'm okay, but I just realise that I should bring something new and videos for J to occupy her. I tell you, if I gotta travel again, I'm loading up on Dora (She loves Dora, chuckles and kicks her legs when the theme song comes on), songs and definitely a new toy there and one on the way back. Other stuff that happened, I'll enlighten if we meet.

Macau is not for babies. In general, the establishments are centered around the casinos, unless your interest in the heritage spots. So there's a lot of walking around the casinos, because kids aren't allowed, you need to find family passageways to maneuver the hotels, which wasn't a problem because a friend guided us around. The only "family room" I've seen was in Venetian, and it's not very well out-fitted. They had pods for you to change, that are hard, unlike our padded changing stations, no hot water, and if still breastfeeding, no privacy rooms. The toilets in general had no pull-down changing tables. I had to lay out a mat by the sink to change J, and make sure she doesn't bash her head against something. I was in several hotels, like Grand Lisboa, Wynn, MGM etc, and I couldn't change her properly. There is virtually lack of high chairs, even when I made a day trip to HK, ate at Lei Garden (no baby chair), she was virtually in her stroller most of the time, at a different eye-level (that didn't make her too happy). You won't believe how happy she was when in the bjorn, yes and mummy had to pretend she can harness her 10mth old everywhere (Luckily, I have been using the bjorn for going everywhere for weeks before my trip and trained my limit).

I'm wondering the ones that hook onto the table probably going to have a weight limit right? I saw pretty good reviews for the Inglesina 2010 Fast Table Chair. But thinking if something like the Munchkin booster seat would work too if can't hang along the table. Which type is your like?
