mummies,
Advice heed. I am home with Joshua, but the mc is his name, so office says must take CCL instead. anyway, he looks stone stone today. But seem ok when I play with him. Sigh.. his baluku not there already, put Zambuk last night, think he like his mummy, got "ti dao"
Kath,
Yeap, I put some jin feng san in his lips last night. poor fellow, today seem to startled so easily. Even when the neighbour closes de door he also cry out. Sigh.
Rachel, yes yes, I am the one you met at Mac with Ikeke, There were 2 Joshua in the class.
Mummies, has anyone given "heng cai" to bb? Do we add ikan bilies? do we blend the fish or boil with water and then make porridge with it? I tot eat whole fish is better for calcium?
Just to vent.
My MIL keeps telling me she has raised 6 kids and the children eats everything. sigh....speechless. At least I know my hubby is very picky on his food and his favourites are salty veg and sichuan veg and bean sprouts. cheap and simple. so who says her children is not selective! Why the older generation always think they are right?!!! Can't people improve with new findings? **so annoyed**
Personally I think her dishes are mostly quite salty, which I don't mind. she loves to use msg too. I don't like to use salt and msg so my cooking is normally quite bland, and I love the natural taste. I can use de pack of salt and MSG for almost 2 years. but now that she cooks dinner, so far, she uses almost 1 pack a month.
I want my child to start with bland food le, not to be choosy in future, and eats a wide range of food. At least he will eat the bland food I cooked for him right!!
I start Joshua with pumpkin and carrots and potatoes, Now thinking to give spinach and my mum and MIL thinks that it should go with Ikan bilis, I know it taste better, but ikan bilis can be quite salty right ? she suggest to boil ikan billis in the water, then use the water to cook the porride and spinach. But I fear the porridge will be very "tasty" and salty. I rem My sis says not to use tofu with spinach but what else can it combine with, As long as it's not meat? joshua has weak intestine, PD suggest to start him on meat only at 8th month.
Just now my MIL commented again "children will not choose food la, can put ikan bilis la, why give him bland porridge? it's ok to add meat and ikan bilis la, they will not reject bland food in future one la, blah blah blah. why tries to brainwash me again" she has 6 chances to trial her upbringing skill, why want to deprive my 1 and only chance! aiyah!!!
Frankly, I don't know how my sister in law's kids are brought up, but they are good example of children who don't take veg and eat only plain rice with fish or chicken only. When I quoted them, she quickly says " I don't know what how their grandmother feeds them" actually she was taking care of them when they were younger le.
Anyway, I am so tempted to stay home and take care of my son. Too bad hubby's job cannot afford to take care of us, so there goes my dream....just got to dream on. Time really flies, very soon our babies will be crawling and then walking liao. How I wish I can spend more time with him.
oh...sorry for the long post...at least I feel better now..
